Get dual channel memory. Some games (like bf1) do't work well with single channel memory.

Get a smaller power supply, because 850+w for a build with a system draw of 300w is waaaaaa overkill.

As well, if you want liquid cooling, This thermaltake liquid cooler will do a better job at a lower price. Just make sure your case can support it.

I've gotten it up to 7Ghz on Linux. Windows BSoDs at that point though.

My anti-virus is blocking the cloudflare link, but from what I understand +65% is a pretty reasonable expectation. If you could run at the same clock speed then AVX-512 would be twice as fast,
and when you account for the downclock that accompanies AVX-512 then 2x dropping to ~1.65x seems to be pretty close. Yes you need a good cooling system, but if I were to build an AVX-512 system this will be very minor part of the total cost (I tentatitively priced out a i9-7940x with full 128gb of ram, the original vega designed for computing, and accessories, and was looking at ~$4k or so. I have to imagine that something like this would handle it and at $140 is literally only ~3-4% of the total cost).

(note: the bus width with AVX-512 is also doubled relative to AVX-2, so your I/O time doesnt increase in terms of % of total time).

This Thermaltake water 3.0

Or this Corsair h115I I am just wondering if the thermaltake will fit a 1151 socket, if it does I want to go with that.

I recommend it because even though I haven’t tried it myself, it is considered one of the best X399 motherboards by several trusted reviewers. After some research, I have found that the cooler I chose will not be appropriate for that CPU and I am working on fixing that, here is a better one that is compatible.

Edit: Here is a review

I was thinking of upgrading to an AIO but don't know if I should go with thermaltake or corsair. My case can support either and I am leading towards the corsair due to there Warranty. Anyone have experience with these?

The only problem I see at all is the case. I'd prefer something with a front intake. The front to back always works good for me keeping ambient down, especially air cooling.

My only other thought would be WC. My only TR builds I've done I threw in water-cooling and never ever worried about temps with a decent sized rad with 4 or 6 fans. Not really that much more expensive.

I used one like this and it works amazing.

>In general I wouldn't mind too much since my time in figuring out how to get this stuff to work isn't free either.

You must make a lot per hour then.

>Almost all of those are overblown and/or still much better than closest windows competitors. You can get any battery to last 1/3 as long depending on workload etc.

Apple charge $90-$200 for fan replacements, not including the cost of shipping it to them for the repair

Meanwhile you can get the highest quality liquid cooling fans on the market for ~$180
