You are so very welcome! Skincare marketing is so misleading - and unregulated in the US! - and while ScA is great wealth of knowledge, it can also be very overwhelming to read through all the threads, terminology, etc. I want to be as informed as possible and if I can, support companies that put their money where their mouth is (solid science backed research, great customer service, positive social/environmental impact, etc.).

If you do want to try some rosehip, I always recommend Trilogy Rosehip Oil Antioxidant+ (NZ companyy). It's shelf-stable for up to 3 yrs b/c they've added some antioxidants (bonus!) vs. plain rosehip which goes bad in 3-6 months (if they say longer than that, I'd be weary). You only get 1 ounce for ~$25 USD vs. the typical 4 oz bottles from the other sellers so I wouldn't recommend you use this for OCM unless you have coin to burn. I just add a few drops directly to my skin sometimes, neat style, or I add few to my moisturizer.

If you do want to try some essential oils, here are two reputable sellers - Ananda Apothecary and AROMATICS INTERNATIONAL - so you can see the diff in the level of information they provide about each oil (e.g, country of origin, reports by batch, plant parts used, etc.). It's night and day compared to Radha (Radha is doing a bunch of yoga/pilates moves all over the site - great flexibility but what's your oil made of?) and Aria Star (just a lot of marketing about the amazing benefits!). ps. Still no response from Aria Star.

As far as anti-aging oils go rose hip oil seems to be popular. You can try this one that has added antioxidants. Your local Whole Foods may carry it.

I love Tarte blushes and lipgloss the best!

Ooo I do have a few NZ recommendations! I'll link to Amazon listings, as I'm assuming you live in N.America?

  • Trilogy Rosehip Oil - I've tried cheaper Rosehip oils and this one is an all time favourite. I feel like it smells nicer than others as well. Its a pricier brand, but very well made and their whole Rosehip range is amazing.
  • Skinfood NZ Mud Masque - cheap as chips and it's a best seller in NZ. It's an amazing mud masque with volcanic mud from Rotorua, Apricot oil and jojoba oil. Always feel so clean after using it.
  • Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask - another pricy brand, but they have amazing products. This mask is really soothing and hydrating

El Dorado is definitely a facial oil. Think of it as a "supercharged" facial oil since it has the benefit of adding 10% THDA (vitamin c), whereas many mass marketed facial oils are just mixtures of several different oil varieties. Common ones include jojoba, argan, rosehip seed, evening primrose, borage, etc.
While El Dorado is both an oil mixture + antioxidant (vitamin c in this case), but there exist other product varieties like this that are just one oil (rosehip seed in this case) + antioxidants. Additionally, there are just plain old oils sans antioxidants, so you really have a pretty wide array of options to choose from. One is not necessarily better than another, you'll just need to find one that suits your needs best.
I have similar advice regarding "how many oils" to put in your routine because it really depends on what your skins needs are. I encourage you to experiment^cautiously here. Some people can't tolerate oils at all, others can apply it several times a day and have perfectly glowing skin. It's really up to the individual to asses your skin's needs for the day and apply products appropriately. But for the love of god please don't put coconut oil on your face unless you fancy spending weeks of your life undoing the hellish pore-clogging damage it will undoubtedly do. Trust me, it is not better to have loved and lost in this particular instance.
