I don't spend too much money on everyday clothes (I shop mainly at consignment stores) but for me the expenses lie in the work-out equipment.
Three expensive (for me) purchases I don't regret:
Running spandex: Lululemon Inspire Crop II, $86. Why — to run! Worth it — yes; I have had a pair for two years and even though I dry them in the dryer they've only recently started to really wear.
Running shoes: Asics GT 2170, $110 (I paid more like $90). Why — to start running for real! Worth it — absolutely; they are extremely comfortable for my foot/gait type and have held up.
Hiking boots: Vasque Wasatch GTX, $130 (I paid ~110). Why — to go on backpacking trips! Worth it — hell yes! They are supportive but not too heavy, and feel like they're brand-new after three years.
I do regret buying a fugly Paul's Boutique purse in high school, but it's not like I miss that ~100 right now.
Amazon has the Vasque Wasatch in size 6.5:
