Well, I mean I wouldn't really consider this person to be a copywriter per say, he's just an entrepreneur and knows how to do it effectively market towards a specific Target Audience (small business owners and startups).

A lot of his accolades are kind of half-truths but most definitely embellished.

For example, he says he's "Named One Of The Top 182 Greatest Copywriters Of The Internet Age". That seems oddly specific and something I think we would find in AdAge or something, but this is the actual source. So, it's some dude, who's also another marketer, who's saying that he's good. Not a publication, just a dude.

Also, his first Amazon book is listed #544,443... in the Kindle section. His second ebook fared better, but after you filter it down to: Books > Business & Money > Marketing & Sales > Marketing > Direct and that's 45th place.

Looking at his job history on LinkedIn, it seems like he's only done "freelance" for a lot of places. Which I think means that he doesn't even truly freelance, I think he literally does only like single assignments for a lot of these places at his rate. No internships at actual agencies though or staff/contract positions at places. It once again seems like he's aiming for the low hanging fruit here and going for small businesses, startups and those who don't know any better.

So that being said, while I have no problem with what he does, it's not something I'd like to do. From what it seems like, he seems to know a lot of about the more seedier SEO tactics that people use to get more clicks to their sites and also knows how to write convincing marketing-style copy. A lot of testimonials aren't really talking about him doing campaigns per say, but always talk about how their sales metrics have improved and how people now buy whatever product they're shilling because of his biting (probably hard-sell) headlines.

If you want to go for the low hanging fruit and have a race for the bottom, this guy is acing it. He attracts a certain type of person towards his work and he's found out how to do it towards a bit of success. Personally for me, I'd never hire this guy at an agency, he's way too marketing/PR for my place. He's the type of guy who would in a concepting meeting give us the safe idea because it will sell the most amount of units, because obviously us creatives care about that type of bullshit. He's going for quantity over quality and after looking at his writing samples, he's going down a path that will make sure that he will make a decent living but will probably never be respected by any advertising creatives.

I have no idea who this guy is, but after reading his site and seeing his writing samples, I really don't mind continuing not know who he is.
