I will forever rave about the W7 In the Buff palette as my favorite cheap but decent quality starter palette. Its pretty much an exact dupe of the Naked 2 shades only for $6.50 instead of $54. I liked mine so much that I decided to save up for the Naked 2 thinking it would be better quality. While the packaging was better the shadows themselves were only moderately better. The W7 was pretty comparable in quality and blendability. It is less smooth but I did find it to give less fallout. The Naked 2 was better but not enough to justify $48 in price so I returned it. I did swatch comparisons so you can see for yourself.
You can find it on Amazon here.
Here's a great YouTube video comparison and you can see a look she did with it. I can vouche that this is accurate because I've owned both.
Its a learning curve, its trial an error. My advise is to start with the basics foundation, and eye shadow, perhaps eye browpencil if you need it also if you have fix your eye brows.
for now stick to neutral or nude shades you can by the palettes from amazon see the link.
Personally i find a liquid fondation to be the best just make sure you find one that matches your skin tone or perhaps just slightly darker.
Have fun with explore but get the basic's down first with the brushes ;) Check out the youtube tutorials.
There's a UK brand called W7, which sells on Amazon, and they have dupes for all three Naked palettes for less than $10. I heard good things about the pigmentation and quality, it's not some Chinese knockoff.

EDIT: Sorry this isn't the Naked 3 dupe I linked to, I forgot the name of it, but I'm sure if you do some searching on Amazon it'll pop right up!
