Honestly, buy some hair clippers like these (or even detailer clippers just for trimming edges)....they're pretty easy to use. You don't wanna be going to the barber every week to get your beard trimmed, and it's super easy to do yourself, unlike cutting your hair (though you can do that yourself as well depending on your hair style. I keep my hair pretty short and have cut my own hair for over 10 years). You can put on different combs on the clippers to keep your beard a specific length, and you can also take the combs off and use the bare razor to clean up edges and shave the neck. You can also put the #1 guard on and trim your eyebrows too (be careful with that). I'd recommend looking at Alpha M on youtube for some beard and eyebrow dos and don'ts.
