This is the high speed cable I am talking about, it's USB 3.1 and not 3.0.
This is a USB C to USB C for when I want to hook my S8 up to my laptop.
Wireless charging pad. This is not quickcharge because that isn't possible using wireless charging.
Multiport charger, 3 ports are 2 amps (regular amperage) and 2 ports are quick charge. My clock and wireless charging pad are connected to the 2 amp ports, and the charging cable included with the S8 is connected to the quick charge port.

Again, not QUITE sure I follow. I think what you're saying is that any A-C cable is fine from the wall, but if I want fast transfer speeds from a PC, I need a USB 3 cable. (Sorry, you threw me off when you mentioned current. Surely the current would only matter if this phone used USB 3.0 power delivery? Or is the current somehow related to the data transfer speed?)
What I'm looking at getting is this for use with my HTC wall wart, and a pack of these for in the car/at the office or my desk. Remember, I don't want them to just work, I want them to charge at full QC3 speed when in the car (with the QC car plug I linked) or with the HTC wall wart. I am NOT expecting QC speeds when plugged into a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port on a PC (although i'm assuming a USB 3.0 port will perform better?)
Here's my understanding....
The long cable will be handy for charging, and won't be used for transferring data, so the fact that it isn't USB 3.0 doesn't matter.
**The pack of cables will be used for charging OR data transfer - so they're USB 3.0.
USB 3.0 compatibility will neither help nor hinder when charging, but will only be a positive when transferring data.
Basically, what I'm getting is that whether a cable is USB 3 or not doesn't matter for charging when the standard being used is Qualcomm's QC, only if USB 3's power delivery system is being utilised. When QC3 is in play, USB 3.0 only matters for data transfer.
