Good news, you can actually check these on the Z-Wave Alliance's website pretty easily.

What you can do is the following:

  • Go to: http://products.z-wavealliance.org/Search/Index?regionId=2&searchText=repeater
  • Then, it should show you a list of devices that are repeaters (as BreakfastBeerz mentioned below most AC Powered Z-Wave devices are repeaters as well) but you can also find which ones have beaming enabled by checking the conformance statements.
  • For example if you click on Enbrighten's Lightbulb (found here: http://products.z-wavealliance.org/products/2528/embedpics) and then click where it says, "Z-Wave Protocol Implementation Conformance Statement: View" you can view the conformance statement.
  • You'll notice a section about halfway down that says, "Z-Wave Product Information" and the first question is, "Supports Z-Wave Beaming Technology?" -- make sure it says, "Yes"

If you're looking for a plug, our plugs offer beaming technology (Inovelli) and I'd be happy to help you get the locks up and running. However, sometimes with locks it can be tricky as they are encrypted and if they weren't properly configured with the ST HUB, the repeater may not pick them up.

Either way, if you decide to go with us or another company, I'm happy to help.

I don't personally own Kwikset, but if you find a repeater that supports, "beaming" technology it will work since the locks are a FLIRS devices (had to look it up -- frequently listening receiver slave) and are looking for a beaming signal.

The ones I know off the top of my head are the Aeotec 6 Repeater and the Inovelli smart plugs, but that's because I own them both. However, if you go to the Z-Wave Alliance and search for a specific product you're interested in, you can pull up that plug's conformance statement and there will be a section that says, "Supports Beaming". Just make sure it says, "Yes".
