Yep you can do it all in car. Just did it.
Don't even have to remove the core support and bumper. I removed it during reassembly and would HIGHLY recommend pulling the core support and bumper. It's not much more work and it helps a ton.

Engine pull is absolutely not required though.

Pull the two bolts in the oil pan first so you don't forget.

Also this tool is absolutely worth every penny to pry the timing cover apart without damaging it
https://www.amazon.com/OTC-7034-Disc-Brake-Spreader/dp/B0002SQUHW

You can slip that in between the two casting tabs on the engine and it will pop it right off without damaging it or screwing with the seal.
Any questions let me know. Job is quite labor intensive the first time it took me around 50 hours taking my time . But once you do it a few times it can be done in about four hours.

Plan a 3 day weekend at least.

I was actually looking at this very exhaust myself not too long ago. From what I've gathered, the system sounds very raspy and makes the Z sound a bit like a civic a la fart cannon.

However it seems that a popular thing to do with this exhaust is to remove the H pipe and replace it with an aftermarket Xpipe. That seems to clear up almost all of the rasp as well as the drone and leaves you with a pretty good sounding dual exhaust for cheap.

Also something to look out for is that this exhaust may be made out of cheap steel that will not hold up very well overtime.

I definitely love the bluetooth features for music. Driving an '03, of course this wasn't an option but when I replaced the deck with an aftermarket one I absolutely love the option of bluetooth / USB drive / AUX port.

I bought this tiny flash drive that's smaller than my thumb nail and play off that primarily.

Now that I'm using my Z has a daily driver, I decided to upgrade it a little. It's an 07 base, so it didn't come with much. Starting with the interior I switched out the head-unit with this Pioneer 4200-NEX that supports both Bluetooth and Apple Carplay / Android Auto for navigation etc. I also wired up a backup camera as I liked the feature on a different car I own and the Pioneer unit supported it. Finally, I switched out the shift knob with a Nismo carbon-fiber one. It feels a lot better than the stock knob! I'm currently working on daylight-running lights in place of the reflectors at the front and an AEM intake.

Definitely! There are DIY threads all over the place. There are kits on Amazon that are decently priced.

Edit: Forgot to mention Adams ceramic coating on Amazon is pretty decently priced and the outcome is fantastic!

The easiest way is to just break down and pay for a Lisle funnel. They make the whole process incredibly easy and they're worth every penny. I spent a day or two dicking around with bubbles and squeezing and revving and all that and THEN bought the damn funnel. Or ask if a friend has one. It took 20 minutes to do and the system has been great for a few months now.

These are the ones I bought and used. Worked like a charm and great quality. They will work on the bumper cover, wheel well inserts and under hood trim.

No offence but if you don't understand the wiring diagram maybe you should get someone to do it for you?

If you're determined to do it yourself maybe you just need a wiring harness kit like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Scosche-NN03B-Harness-1995-07-Standard/dp/B0007KPS0A/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1494895498&sr=8-2&keywords=nissan+350z+wiring+harness

It all depends on your setup. I don't know what plugs Joying comes with and whether or not you have a bose system in your car etc.

u/evox559 · 3 pointsr/350z

ya pretty common problem. it failed on me twice already. you can replace the sensor, its very easy it just unscrews from the oil pan (might as well change the oil sense you will have to drain some of it once the sensor comes out).

easy to get to from under the car. just be easy screwing it back in, dont wanna strip the threads by over tightening. i purchased mine on amazon. hope this helps

This polishing kit is what I used.

I am very skeptical of how long it will actually last but they definitely made them look better, not like new but much more clean.

  • Nissan Z Metal Keychain = $13.98

  • Red Remote Keyless Entry = $5.38

  • Extra Remote Keyless Entry = $6.54

    Notes:

The Z keychain isn't sharp (corners) at all; I don't even notice it in my pocket.

The red remote is just a plastic shell and rubber buttons. You need to either take the circuit board and battery out of a current key fob, which is extremely easy, or order an extra remote (3rd link) to use the internals from it. Reprogramming a new keyless remote is even easier than swapping the "guts" out, and it comes with instructions. A quick Google search will also reveal said instructions.

Even though the extra remote says "2003-2006," it will work with 2007. In my case, the car only came with one remote. This was a pretty cheap (and unique) option for an extra. It works perfectly, just like the original key fob.

Look around on Amazon for extra colors. I have seen blue and red, but not sure about white or any others.

It was extremely easy. I used this wiring diagram: http://s222.photobucket.com/user/HOTTTiEBOi7/media/g35_pacoem2_to_jvs_kw-avx820_zps17433e60.jpg.html
I had to splice some wires, but everything was plug and play from there. I wouldn't recommend the headunit/adapter combo I got because I had to sand down the adapter a bit to fit it over the head unit.

I have an 08 so when I bought this I didn't quite read to see that it clearly says the years its recommended for but there's pictures of success in the comments

Classy Autos Nissan 350Z White... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005FUU7EY?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share. I bought these and they work great took less then 5 min to install

For the radio, one option is a Bluetooth FM transmitter that plugs into the cigarette lighter. You can pair your phone with it via Bluetooth or it also supports an aux cable connection if needed. Also has a usb port to charge your phone. I got this one for $16, but there are lots of similar options out there. Congrats on the new ride!

I bought a cheap automotive pry tool set from Amazon for a couple of bucks. These are the ones I purchased: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HNMLQAG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

To take the driver's side panel off, I shimmied one pry tool at each end of the panel that runs perpendicular to the door, and they popped out. After that, you need to pull the window switches out. I couldn't get the clips with my fingers, so I popped them out with a pry tool.

The passenger is a little easier IMO. You need to pry out the aluminum finisher on the door handle first, then there's two 10mm bolts that you need to unbolt, then the door handle will come out. After that, you should be able to get the passenger switch cover by hand. The clips to get the switches out are the same.

After I dipped mine and put them back in the car, I found a good tutorial on it (figures, lol) by someone on Youtube named AnthonyJ350. I painted mine a fair bit differently, but dissablemly is mostly the same.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vopxhHPTGA

He also has a lot of other tutorials for our cars, so he might have a video on the center console. I've put in and taken out an aftermarket head unit in mine so I've done it, but I can't remember exactly what's in there.

u/gotoel · 1 pointr/350z

OK, as long as there really isn't a power decrease while driving I am fine with it. It looks/sounds cool (and I kept the stock intake just in case).

Before I add the next mod, is this a good idea: http://www.amazon.com/Motordyne-Plenum-Spacer-Basic-350Z/dp/B0040TCMU8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1405050365&sr=8-2&keywords=jwt+pop+charger

I've recorded and taken pictures of everything I could to make a video of how to upgrade the head unit and install a backup camera in a roadster while keeping the Bose Amps and Speakers. It will include how to install this port. But basically all it is is this cable connected to my Pioneer head unit and run through the center console. I just popped the blank out, measured the cable end and dremeled out the hole to fit. Then cable popped in and I hooked it to the radio.

Video of the whole process will be here when it is done. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOtOH3yThzz-1VJWHhIH50g

Sorry about the delay guys, busy weekend :-P

It attaches to the passenger seat bolt on the floor, it basically works on any car. I had the same system on my last 3 cars, I will never look at any other solution. They have different lengths. I think mine is this one

Used to have one, although I prefer the iOttie One Touch now.

Uses the seat rail bolt.
