The new tcl 6 series is 60 hz but a good tv. It seems to be sold out.

They have the 65” Q6FN for 1099 on Amazon for a limited time deal. It has VRR/freesync for next gen gaming, quantum dots, 120hz, 800 nits peak brightness, good grey uniformity, and good contrast despite having no FALD. It does have edge local dimming though with zones. It has a 6700:1 contrast ratio, which is as good as the budget FAlD 2018 tv’s like tcl 6 series. I highly recommend it because I love my nu8000 and it is that same tv but with Quantum Dots, which makes the color and contrast better, which is already great on the nu8000. It also has ambient mode which can blend the TV into the wall behind it. It’s kind of a gimmick, but cool nonetheless.

I think that’s by far the best choice man. I’d jump on it ASAP because it’s a special sale. Could be gone tomorrow. You won’t be dissapointed with the TV, it’s great. Price includes free delivery. Other option is tcl r625

Have you seen it in person or just basing it off your friends experience? The 900f is another $500 which isn't terrible but just wondering if it's really worth paying an extra 50%

I'll be upgrading from a 60" Samsung I bought 4 years ago (link below) which has held up nicely and am overall really happy with. Just want something 4k now

If you're looking at 75" (or lager) for $1000ish, that puts you on the low end of the scale. the best "bang for the buck" seems to be 65" at the moment.

So for a 75" you're best option close to budget is this Samsung for $1099. If you can step up your budget or find a sale, the TCL 75R617 is $1299.

You can also try your luck with Greentoe.com and pick a model and put in a price you're willing to pay. I got my LG C9 for a great deal from that site, and had no issues with the delivery.

u/spies4 · 1 pointr/4kTV

Thanks for the info! Anything else I should look out for when looking for a TV? Like specs wise?

Also found this 43 inch 4k UHD Samsung 7 Series Smart LED 2018 new for $360, what'd you think?

u/Gon_Snow · 1 pointr/4kTV

I’m less familiar with the Vizio models but they are also similar price ranges. Overall I’d say TCL is cheapest and provides great price value and has Roku, Samsung is pricier and Vizio again idk but all three are wayyyy more credible and not necessarily more expensive

u/Dr_Hexagon · 1 pointr/4kTV

Yep, I agree Netflix and Amazon prime is already streaming 4K HDR and a Bluray player that can play 4K HDR is under $200 already. Trust me you want HDR. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01A9V6OI6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Not sure if this has vrr but this is probably your best bang for buck imo

That links for the 55, the 65 is 899.99

u/JoeDoom · 4 pointsr/4kTV

Plug in a Bluetooth transmitter to the 3.5mm headphone output of the TV and you'll be able to connect any Bluetooth headphones. This is a great one - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N5KKUR0/

Or for a cheaper approach, just get a super long 3.5mm cord and use wired headphones.

u/karazax · 1 pointr/4kTV

That adapter should work, or a cable like this

here are their top choices for TVs to use as a monitor.

I haven't tried using that TV as a monitor, but here is a review. Specific to using it as a PC monitor:

>Great TV for PC use. The TV feels responsive thanks to low input lag and excellent motion handling. It supports chroma 4:4:4 for clear text across all backgrounds but unfortunately, the viewing angle is poor, so the edges of the screen darken when viewed from up-close.

u/Birkin07 · 1 pointr/4kTV

Check this out. Now it says 910 fulfilled by Amazon. Am i right in thinking best buy will match now?

https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-UN49KS8000-49-Inch-Ultra-Smart/dp/B01D98AQ30

u/NintendoManiac64 · 1 pointr/4kTV

The only OLED TV that would fit your requirements would be the C6, but only when purchased from somewhere like Cleveland AV which will give you a better price than your typical big-name stores (Amazon prices it at $1800 currently).

Unless you want to have low input lag and HDR at the same time, then no OLED TV will fit the bill currently.

u/Lazerpop · 1 pointr/4kTV

Oh! I think I got it. So the TCL I'm thinking of doesn't have the nicest HDR and I totally accept that I won't get the most amazing picture ever for $300. But simply having the television on in the daytime near a window won't render it impossible to watch, yeah?

edit -- Just another thought... it seems like to stay within this size range but get a noticible picture bump, I would have to spend at least $100 more, right? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MYGISTO/

u/beastykato · 1 pointr/4kTV

I have a 70" mount. Is there really any difference in the mounting hardware on a 78"? I'd like to continue using this mount: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VMJEK2C/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'm not very familiar with the mounting patterns. It does say it will easily hold more weight than this TV though.

I have the 60" KS8000.

I'm using this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VMJEK2C/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Meant for 16" spaced studs.

Also make sure, you must get 4x M8 1.25 45mm bolts AND use the spacers that come with the TV (not the ones from the mount box).

u/randomvzlan · 1 pointr/4kTV

im trying to keep it below 250 , what do you think of this ? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07G9M6XCV/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?tag=slicinc-20&ascsubtag=96306cbaa83811e9bef7c695055d12510INT&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 just 1 inch smaller and its 1080p , i dont really watch youtube content , im mostly interested if in what i watch gets improved by the 4k aspect of it , or it can get bad quality due the upscale?

u/BL24L · 2 pointsr/4kTV

I'd suggest checking out an Xbox one s or x.

Xbox one S

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=Xbox+one+s&ref=nb_sb_noss_2

Xbox one X

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=Xbox+one+x&ref=nb_sb_noss_2

I'd go with the S if you just want a 4k bluray player. Go with the x if you're also worried about playing games on it.

Don't forget a remote,

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GOK34SO/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

One of these guys will work well as an all around media device for your 4k tv.

u/LifeFacts · 1 pointr/4kTV

Can somebody let me know if the TCL 65" he is mentioning is better than this deal: https://www.amazon.com/LG-Electronics-65UK6300PUE-65-Inch-Ultra/dp/B079V3HQ4X

and maybe why?

u/jaromdl · 1 pointr/4kTV

You can always consider getting a DAC similar to this if you find a TV you like that doesn't have a 3.5mm jack: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009346RSS/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_9?smid=A1UG27DD7KR2HI&psc=1

u/ScalaZen · 1 pointr/4kTV

How is HDR gaming and the 120hz refresh rate?

What's the input lag / response time?

I'm looking for 49" 2017 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MYGISTO/ref=psdc_6459737011_t1_B01N6HNA8T?th=1&psc=1

How's it compare to the 6 Series? The only thing that turned me off about the 6 series is that it's edge lit LED instead of Backlit like the 2017 I linked.
