6. ARES 70040-1/4-Inch Drive Close Quarter Micro Bit Ratchet | Mini Screwdriver with High Torque 72-Tooth Gearhead - 5 Degree Sweep - Spring Loaded Detent Ball Bit Holder

    Features:
  • SPECIFICATIONS: This micro bit ratchet (mini screwdriver) was originally designed for automotive use in today's increasingly compact engines. The 72-tooth ratchet is perfect for tight spaces and needs only 5 Degree sweep, while the high-strength Chrome Vanadium steel handle and Chrome Moly steel ratchet gear provide 43ft/lbs of torque. The spring loaded detent ball ensures your bit won’t drop, and this set also includes ph1, ph2, Slotted 1/4-inch, Slotted 3/16-inch, T-15,T-20,R1, and R2.
  • QUALITY: The head of the ratchet is only .83 inches wide. Fine tooth ratcheting is required for close quarters and with only 5 Degree sweep, that is exactly what you get. Right now, sub $200:

Orient FDB08005W

Sea-Gull skeleton automatic

In general it is not easy to find a good quality skeleton that is worth owning in this price range, but the above are a few exceptions. Lastly, not a skeleton, but one of my favorite budget watches that looks much more expensive and has an impressive watchmaking pedigree behind it: the Orient Sun and Moon. You can find it for just a bit more than $200, and with a sapphire crystal version you are getting amazing bang for your buck.

Overall: Stay away from the budget brands like sturhling and the $70 giant open face watches. Most are actually extremely overpriced for what you are getting and will crap out on you in a year. I'd recommend looking into "open heart" watches if you like seeing the mechanical aspect. Almost anything by Seiko and Orient are your best best in this price range-they make their own movements (which in the watch industry usually only happens in >$2,000, they have great finishing and details and they are extremely well made overall. Both have been making watches for decades.

A list of brands that are well respected in the industry between $200-$2,000:

Hamilton

Seiko

Orient

Tissot

Rado

Alpina

Certina

Casio

Citizen

Glycine

Sinn

Stowa

Junghans

Oris

Zeppelin

Nomos

I'm missing a bunch of other ones as there are way too many, and once you reach the 3k area it's a whole nother world.

My favorite bolt action pen is the tactile turn. The short version. It can accept the longer G2 inks and similar, you just have to cut them down to size. I think titanium or aluminum is a must - the copper and brass ones are quite heavy. For copper or brass, I like the tiscribe bolt. But, the tiscribe's clip sucks. It looks cool to make the clip the bolt, but in practice the retention is awful. The clip is more of a hook than a clip.

For a less expensive but still awesome pen, check out the Boker 50cal. My brother has been carrying his for 4 years and it still looks like new. I carried one for 2 years with the same result. It can only take parker style ink (or fisher space pen).

Probably the cheapest high quality bolt action pen is this guy. It's just heavy, but it's extremely well made. Won't take G2 sized ink, though. Only parker. Real CF! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FF8X6CJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Sorry I didn't offer to actually sell you anything :) just trying to help point you in the right direction!

So, I do not have one to trade or anything, but before you order one, I will share this. I researched the uc35 for hours. Read on all the forums, looking at every comparable light that met the criteria as you listed. The conclusion that people kept leading me to was to forget the Fenix altogether, and get a ThruNite. The quality of construction is significantly better, the light is brighter, the light modes are more usable and varied. Plus, it's cheaper. I now have 2 of them, and after using them, 2 of my buddies ordered themselves one as well. I highly recommend it over the Fenix, and in this size and class, I think it really shines. Link for lazy. Get the $65 V2, and I personally prefer the neutral white version (NW) over the blue tint cool white (CW).

I'm curious about the pricing too (I also saw it was $120 when you commented). I looked up the cost of the things listed.

  • Gerber Dime green/black - $16.02 new on Amazon
  • Zebra F-701 pen - $7.20 new on Amazon
  • NarwhalCo pens set of 2 - $11.95 new on their site
  • 2.5" ratchet bit extension - about $4~ new on Amazon (counting out the other bits included in that listing)
  • ARES 1/4" micro bit ratchet & mini bits - $14.42 new on Amazon
  • Small length of black Gorilla tape - less than $1 worth of a full 1-pack price new on Amazon
  • Glasses/screen cleaning cloth - comparable to $1.50 new on Amazon from a 6-pack
  • Length of FireCord - less than $1 worth of a full 1 roll price new on Amazon
  • Bic Mini lighter - about $1.39 new on Amazon from a 5-pack
  • Sim card removal tool - about $0.50 new on Amazon from a 10-pack
  • Kingston 32gb microSD card & portable USB reader - $20.94 new on Amazon
  • CountyComm "Industrial Strength Survival Food Grade Tin" large topo design - $3.45 new on their site

In total that's about $83.37 USD all new prices. Most include free shipping if purchased from Amazon. I did not include possible cost of that leather holster because the post currently does not say the leather holster is included or not.

Your best bet would be a Leatherman Rev but thats going to run about $40. It is just hard to find budget multitools with clips. You might have some luck bidding on eBay. I got both my leather man wingman and sidekick for around $25 each from auctions so it could be worth a try. You could try for a skeletool there as well.

Such a great little light! These are ~$18 new with free Prime shipping on Amazon.

I actually use a plastic covered little cable that is designed as a key chain. Makes it super easy to get keys on and off. Here’s the link to the ones I got on amazon.

Kershaw Skyline (Amazon)

It's a few dollars over your budget but it's worth every penny. Lightweight, won't weigh your pocket down, great blade shape. Can't recommend it enough.
