You need to buy some kinda lighting ( like photographers use) so you don't have to use flash. I use natural lighting near my window. This works for me as I don't sell many items and pics come out ok. Though I can only take pics at certain times of days. If your a volume seller this won't work too well.

Heres example of what i mean

im not familiar with VA laws and codes, so what i know wont be of much help.

you will find the tab labeled 'ebay for business' helpful

http://pages.ebay.com/sellerinformation/

your home office can be used as a workspace, and is even tax deductible. it does not have to be zoned for commercial use.

you may find this helpful as well

We're in the UK, so we only need tracking for anything that sells for more than £62. Anything below that is covered by Royal Mail by just having a receipt.

Those are pretty much the kind of toploaders we use. Sleeve-wise we use ones like these. Some prefer these instead because they're cheaper, but they're too loose in the toploaders for us to be comfortable with using.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004W7IOV4/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 bought this one and LOVE it. it can stay on if its plugged in, if its via battery power it may turn off after a certain amount but i havent tested it for this

Damnit, already wasted money on the labels, was only 8.99 for 200 which i'll probably never use anyways. I never knew it was so easy. I just printed out my first label, using reg. paper and an inkjet printer, also used clear tape, and also went over the barcode with the tape, by mistake. But I already knew clear tape really wouldn't effect the barcode since I worked in retail before.

I went with this scale Seemed like a decent choice. Might be overkill since im prob. only gonna weigh stuff up to 1lb, but I could use a scale for dieting to weigh out food

Thanks

I currently use a label printer, as someone else suggested here, but i used to print them the old fashioned way like I see in the pic here.

What I did back then- I printed it normal size, but I used a paper trimmer to cut off all of the excess- the paypal stuff up top, the blank on the bottom, and anything outside of the black lines.

Well amazon has already sold out of it's launch day allotment. The launch edition is sold out while the standard edition is available but won't ship as quickly as the launch edition.

I've started doing something similar for the more expensive (non-electronic) items I sell. I purchased this tamper evident tape and type a unique order # on it, then affix it to the item and take a picture of it, along with the packing slip. Then I send the buyer an email with the order # on it and a copy of the picture.

I also note that this will be done in the actual listing itself.

While none of this is guaranteed to prevent a scammer from trying to pull one over, my hope is that they'll realize I'm going to fight any BS claims and look for something with less hassle.

Definitely more work for me, and not worth it for most of my items - but so far, so good.

Moen. I am selling handles to a faucet still in the original package. I've sold probably 100 sets of these in the past 3 years and never had an issue. I have used the same picture since I started. It was exactly this this picture. The tutorial took all of 5 minutes to do, but still.

Did you get an inkjet? That's why I recommended a laser printer. They are remarkably cheap now. I got my Brother DCPL2540DW laser printer on sale for $100 (note that this is basically the same price as one without a document feed which isn't that useful in general) about 6 months ago and still haven't replaced the cartridge which is about $50 if you buy a name brand one.

My sister knows I ebay and hooked me up for Christmas last year and it made this type of thing so much easier.

One of these, and one of these will do you wonders

What price do you normally start tracking at? I was thinking anything over $10.

I've been putting my cards in something similar to this when shipping.
