This book is great:

https://www.amazon.com/Freedom-Mind-Helping-Controlling-Beliefs/dp/0967068819

If I were you I would get the kindle version (because you would get it immediately + it is only $10) and start reading through it ASAP.

Basically - what the author says - the best way to get someone to change their mind (after being brainwashed) is to encourage them to think for themselves and to think critically. When people have been brainwashed - or in an abusive relationship or group, etc. - their ability to think critically goes away - allowing them to be sucked into everything and believe total garbage.

So you wouldn't want to try to change his mind and convince him that Trump is bad - you would instead try to get him to think for himself. Once he is able to do that he will be able to see facts and will be able to see that Trump is bad and his mind will change.

You might see that the more you say that Trump is bad the more your dad believes in him. Instead you should ask your dad questions that challenge Trump. Give him the idea that you have an open mind and are genuinely interested in Trump and your dad's support of him. If he resists you say something like - if it is true then it should hold up. If you challenge a fact the fact is still a fact so your dad should be able to answer your questions... but he will find out that he can't answer your questions factually and things will start to fall apart for him.

The book does a wonderful job of explaining these techniques in detail and why the author uses these techniques now - compared to deprogramming techniques that were in vogue many years ago.

Don't give up! Be patient! Be calm! It will probably take a good amount of time while he slowly realizes the truth. And always keep your chill - even if your dad spouts out the worst Trump stuff - if he gets angry don't get angry. He will eventually change.

Not the answer you're looking for, but here is some general info from the course I took that may lead you in the right direction.

This is the Wiki

This is one of the books we used (older editions are like $3):

I really feel like it should be a required course.

>but there has definitely been a huge benefit to the American economy as well.

Do you not see how evil that sounds? No shit it's been beneficial, that was the point of them doing it. But for one, they got almost all of the benefit. And two, the benefit came from horrific crimes against humanity, so why is that relevant at all?

I got my start in politics as a political operative in Rhode Island working on state environmental issues and I used to teach a Junior High after school program about political activism. I have to dig around my attic a little bit, but I think I have an old text book that we used to use to teach new political organizers how to be effective. If you want me to find it and are willing to p.m. me a address or PO box or something, I could probably send it to you.

I will say this, being a good political organizer has nothing to do with whether or not you personally can vote but everything to do with how much credibility you have on the issue and with the community that you're communicating to.

[This is the book we used to use] (https://www.amazon.com/Organizing-Social-Change-Bobo-Kendall/dp/0984275215).

Obviously doesn't help for just like one upcoming protest, but could be a roadmap for future work. Also, look up writing press releases, pretty easy to get eyes on your event by writing a press release and just sending it along to local and national press.

idk why the Greens are so pissy. The tweet is simply saying to stock up on your healing crystals. Fuck us for thinking about you you ingrates. But still we can move beyond that. I mean Amazon has a great deal going on.

If you have Prime you can get it by the 14th, that's a bargain right there. It can also be used for reiki, healing, meditation, chakra balancing, or ritual.

I've read a certain small colored book which I would highly recommend to anyone interested in the topic.

Believing in equality, and marching against Trump in a show of solidarity for those values, is the point - "achieving equality" happens through legislation and societal evolution. Kind of like how women had to march for suffrage, but the march didn't "achieve" suffrage. If you honestly don't understand the purpose of protest, I suggest you read "March: Book One", or "Freedom is a Constant Struggle".

For your second question: women are still paid less for the same job a man has (the discrepancy of which is even worse for women of color), women are still vastly outnumbered in positions of power (CEOs, World Leaders, etc.), and when they do find themselves in those positions, like Hillary Clinton, they are derided for everything from the pitch of their voice, to the clothes they wear, to their ability to overcome their "emotions".

And I swear to God, if you try to reply with some "but things are so much better!" line: things were also better for women after they won the vote, but it still took until 1993 for Marital Rape to be considered a crime in the U.S. "Progress" is not a road that just ends, where we all pat each-other on the back and look out at our utopia - because humans will always be imperfect, and there will always be something to improve.

Ah, sounds like the sequel the the riveting read:

Pounded By The Pound: Turned Gay By The Socioeconomic Implications Of Britain Leaving The European Union

Here's a Pilot title:

Pounded by the Pence: Making the Vice President Admit He is a Closeted Gay Man by Seducing Him and Making Him Love Himself Enough to Admit His Issues to the World and End His Stupid Policy Ideas

> we really need to get to the bottom of whatever pathology is causing this

The Reactionary Mind: Conservatism from Edmund Burke to Sarah Palin

> Tracing conservatism back to its roots in the reaction against the French Revolution, Robin argues that the right is fundamentally inspired by a hostility to emancipating the lower orders. Some conservatives endorse the free market, others oppose it. Some criticize the state, others celebrate it. Underlying these differences is the impulse to defend power and privilege against movements demanding freedom and equality. Despite their opposition to these movements, conservatives favor a dynamic conception of politics and society--one that involves self-transformation, violence, and war. They are also highly adaptive to new challenges and circumstances. This partiality to violence and capacity for reinvention has been critical to their success.
>
> Written by a keen, highly regarded observer of the contemporary political scene, The Reactionary Mind ranges widely, from Edmund Burke to Antonin Scalia, from John C. Calhoun to Ayn Rand. It advances the notion that all rightwing ideologies, from the eighteenth century through today, are historical improvisations on a theme: the felt experience of having power, seeing it threatened, and trying to win it back.

What if I create a web server that takes all the news from CNN and restyles it so it looks like you're reading Breitbart. And then when you're home you can configure your router to redirect that DNS entry and they spend the next year reading CNN and thinking it's Breitbart.

Women are more emotional decision makers while men are more cold and logical. It's well-established in neuroscience, physiology, and psychology. Here's a good book on the subject.

Based on this, it is actually a reasonable question to consider as to whether one or the other of these groups should be the one to make the decisions. Personally, I would side with the logical thinker rather than the emotional "thinker".

Ha. Someone has rightfully suggested that instead of red hats, Trump needs to gift his followers with these.

My fave Will Eisner graphic novel on the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. Seems most relevant now.

It's a pretty difficult video to sum up. The mod himself is a bizarre labyrinth of cringe.

He's either the most oblivious cringeworthy mutton head on Earth or a Kaufman-esque comedy genius. I honestly couldn't tell you which.

He wrote this book: https://www.amazon.com/New-Possibilities-Speculation-Bradley-Birch/dp/1547190639/

For one thing.

That's generally what I think, but I also think people's behavior is highly contingent on social circumstances. If I had to pick a book that represents my view, it would be Steven Pinker's The Better Angels of Our Nature.

Unfortunately the Trump parade is now going after artist Marina Abramovic directly on Amazon and putting satanic reviews of her books, really? If anyone could please report these I would appreciate it.
