Brad Meltzer also authors a great series of biographies for kids about people that changed the world and are quite inspirational. I love the one about Amelia Earhart

I would recommend starting with Mark Waid's Flash series which has Wally West as The Flash. Mark Waid has done some of the best Flash stories there are and it's quite easy to start because they are all collected in trade paperbacks.

The order would just be:

The Flash by Mark Waid Book One. Flash #62-68, Annual #4-5, Special #1.

The Flash by Mark Waid Book Two. Flash #69-79, Annual #6, Green Lantern #30-31 and #40.

The Flash by Mark Waid Book Three. Flash #80-94 will be released on October 11 this year. Just a day after Flash Season 4 begins.

Honestly if you have 15 or so dollars or so pick this up.

this is a good jumping in point, the only thing you really need to know is what happened to Wally West but a quick Google search can tell you that.

Other than that....

this might be the best story that involves most characters from the show.

Don't know if you were interested in that Khaki one as well but I think I found one like it for a decent price!

Flashpoint was an event in the comics that caused the entire DC universe to 'reboot' with slight changes, resulting in the New 52. In it, Barry keeps going back in time to save his mother from dying at the hands of Reverse Flash, but each time when he comes back to the 'present' it is changed dramatically, such as Bruce Wayne being murdered outside the theater, his mother going nuts and becoming the Joker and his father taking on the mantle of Batman.

They made an awesome animated feature of it too!

But pretty much, eventually Barry can run faster than the speed of light, thus resulting in time travel.

If you haven't read it yet, I'd highly recommend picking up the book on the right of the picture, too: Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!

This is a tie-in comic for the event, so presumably the idea is gonna be "here's what these characters whose actors we couldn't get were up to during Crisis".

Amazon listing with synopsis is here, for those interested:

Nice find! I didn’t know it was an actual shirt with a a 1984 date at the end. I bet it’s just a coincidence.

For anyone wondering,
here is the link to the shirt

If you haven't read anything Green Arrow yet, I highly, highly, highly recommend reading Jeff Lemire's run, The Kill Machine, in the new 52. It's issues 17 - 24. It's entirely self contained so you don't need any previous knowledge and it is possibly the best comic run to be released in the new 52

It's not real, but it's based on the real book Runaway Bunny which is similar and, as a father, I could probably recite it word for word as well.

It seems like it was based off this one:
