Sirui P-204S.

It's a bit expensive, but:

  • The build quality is amazing.
  • The camera sits right at eye level when fully extended, which is super important for 360°.
  • The legs are almost invisible at the bottom of the photos/video.
  • Breaks down into a bunch of different configurations.
  • Super light for being solid aluminum. Seriously think you could club someone to death with it and it probably wouldn't even bend.

Gear 360 is pretty much permanently attached to mine.

Sure can! Just made this album moments ago.

You can pickup a 1/4" adapter for any GoPro piece at a variety of places, like Amazon or Best Buy (I got mine at Best Buy for $3)

And talking about random attachments, I picked something similar to this up years ago and using that cheap adapter I can reuse them all for my Gear 360

I don't own a Gear 360 but I have been looking at purchasing one to attach to my Yuneec Q500 4k. I haven't done this but I'll outline what I was thinking.

The CGO 3 Camera and gimbal that mounts to the underside of the nose of the Q500 is much heavier so I think the 360 would easily be lifted by it. My thought would be to buy a Mount Set for the CGO3 and 3D Print a receiving plate for the 360 with a centered hole to mount with a threaded screw. This mounting system has some passive stabilization in it with the 4 rubber gaskets between the two mounting plates, this should eliminate most of the "jello effect" that you see in some drone footage. The part I'm unsure of is if an axis gimbal is required. I do not think it would be as the footage is shot from all angles and the point of view is controlled when viewing the footage.

The only issue I see with this set up now is that since the camera is mounted under the belly, some of the view will be obstructed by the landing gear.

edit: Found this blogpost outlining a similar set up for the Typhoon H. Yuneec looks like a pretty good brand to chose for this as their mounting systems are modular.

Yeah I have a Polaroid monopod tripod thing..

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PHDKNY8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I didn't take it when travelling. It's much better than hand held so you can actually get out of the way. The gear360 comes with its own mini tripod, but its very small.

The polaroid tripod needs careful placement since it can fall over easily. Just the nature of the setup.
This shot best represents that setup.

My Pro rig is A7rii, with a actual arcaswiss type 360 head and gitzo carbon fiber.

Thanks! I ended up buying this one from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06W9NSCGD, very happy with it so far!

The one I'm using is this one: http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/digipower-digipower-quikpod-gopro-selfie-expert-tp-qpgp-tp-qpgp/10369226.aspx?path=84bea2ee10a6fea8d6745dd060f3f204en02

But, as you can see, if you look down in the video, you can see a bit of a black line, that's the base of the stick. You could easily photoshop/after effects it, but just a heads up. The stick is fantastic though. Heavy duty and it extends quite a bit.

I also invested in the 6 GoPros + mount, and I'm using this monopod: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VZS2EU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

So far, it's been great. No complaints.

I was going to mention the iKlip Grip, but now it seems they've come out with the iKlip Grip Pro for the same price.

http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/cat-view.php?C=stands

Your local Apple Store has the iKlip Grip on display and is selling for $49. I've tested it with the Gear 360 and it works great.

The closest one to that at a cheaper price is the BENRO Handheld Tripod 3-in-1 on Amazon for $27.

I use this to film my flights

[360fly 4K ¼-20 Suction Mount - Limitless Camera Positioning] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HDZ1S3W/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apap_8KUppyn4jslyK)

It's a suction mount, but the suction part and the part where the camera mounts to come apart so you can easily rig something that might mount better to what you have

Use a selfie stick for handheld shots, keep it straight and not tilted so that you don't see the pole.

Use a tripod (I use a light stand instead as it's more convenient)

If you are using Gopro accessories I find this attachment handy.

https://www.amazon.com/Arkon-GoPro-Connection-Camera-Adapter/dp/B00IQ7PRHU

Bring an external battery, just as a backup for any intensive recording. (For your phone or 360 camera)

Premiere Pro has a "This video is VR" option at exporting stage, making it easier to inject metadata. Also the offset effect is very handy.

You could also use a cheap light stand like this if you are in a flat stable place.

u/NumberVive · 2 pointsr/Gear360

Yeah I got my Gear 360 (2016 version) off of Amazon for $85... which is quite a bit cheaper than the original price.

I'm using this monopod/selfie stick: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00W77LAAI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

attached to this mini tripod: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D76RNLS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's not the most stable, and it's fallen over once on uneven ground, but on a level surface it works well

This is the specific card.
