It sounds like you have not actually ordered yet, so here's a suggestion for Bluetooth earbuds:

Anker Soundbuds Slim are very similar to the ones you are looking at, but they support aptX HD (So they will sound better and have lower latency) and are cheaper. I have the Soundbuds Curve which feature a slightly different design. They are super comfortable and sound great, so I expect the Slims will work just as well. Lots of people recommend both styles in any thread asking for Bluetooth suggestions.

I really like this wall charger. Bluetooth headphones that charge via USB-C are basically non-existent, so this lets me charge the accessories while also charging my phone at full speed.

The Whitestone Dome is good, but they have awful customer service if you have any issues. Especially since you are going through a forwarder, taking weeks to get a resolution if you have an issue might be a deal breaker for you.

Here are some accessories I use and love.

Cables:

[6' long USB A to C](http://www.Anker.com/ PowerLine+ USB-C to USB 3.0 cable (6ft), High Durability, for USB Type-C Devices Including the new MacBook, ChromeBook Pixel, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nokia N1 Tablet, OnePlus 2 and More https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LNAAEJ2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_SD1PybKFCP918)

[6' long USB C to C cable](http://www.Anker.com/ PowerLine+ C to C 2.0 cable (6ft), High Durability, for USB Type-C Devices Including the new MacBook, ChromeBook Pixel, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, OnePlus 2 and More https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LNA0XCU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_mG1Pyb59S4SK0)

Charger:

[5 port (1 C and 4 A) charger](http://www.Anker.com/ USB Type-C 40W 5-Port USB Wall Charger, PowerPort 5 for iPhone 7 / 6s / Plus, iPad Pro / Air 2 / mini, Galaxy S7 / S6 / Edge / Plus, Note 5 / 4, LG, Nexus, HTC and More https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0196JFWXK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_JH1PybWXH9ZMT)

That 5 port charger has been amazing. It is routinely use to charge a combination of my daughter's tablet, my Pixel, my wife's iPhone 7 Plus, my Xbox One Controller, mine and my wife's Kindles, and random devices from visitors with no problem. It has charged tablet and both phones simultaneously without any issue and at a very normal rate. I also use my OEM wall charger in the bedroom and the OEM Nexus 6P charger for travel.

Cases:

[Caseology Paralac](http://www.Google.com/ Pixel Case, Caseology [Parallax Series] Modern Slim Geometric Design [Black] [Textured Grip] for Google Pixel (2016) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M4HN5XV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_iL1Pyb58J56Y8). This is my work case ( I work 7 days on and 7 days off so I use it every other week) and feels and looks great but isn't as thin as I'd prefer. I generally prefer no case or just a dBrand skin.

This is my home/out and about case. [The Spigen Ultra Hybrid clear.](http://www.Spigen.com/ Ultra Hybrid Google Pixel Case with Air Cushion Technology and Hybrid Drop Protection for Google Pixel 2016 - Crystal Clear https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LX6CDHG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_6M1Pyb6KC420F)

Honorable mention if you want the thinnest case (note: This case won't fit over a dBrand skin.) [Niilken Nature series. ](http://www.Google.com/ Pixel Case, Nillkin Nature Series Clear Soft TPU Case Back Cover [Ultra Thin] [Slim Fit] for Google Pixel - Grey https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N8VGLYK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_DO1PybYSP36XD)

I also found these [Yootech glass screen protectors](http://www.Google.com/ Pixel Screen Protector [5.0"] [2-Pack] [Update Version],Yootech Google Pixel Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Google Pixel https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MPY1RPC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_oP1Pyb5Y22PEZ) to be more than good enough but they cover screen only and not full front (supposedly due to the subtle curvature of the fines edge).

Of course you can never go wrong with a nice dBrand skin for that finishing touch.

Hope this helps.

I got the Bear Motion and Trianium cases on Amazon. The Trianium is a bit more protective, but a little slipperier than I like. It also seems to have a pretty tall, sharp lip on the front. The Bear Motion is very minimal, not protecting the top/bottom edge, but I love the sandstone, grippy feel.

Still wish there was a Pixel XL version of this case though. Loved it on my 6P.

u/anonymous-bot · 1 pointr/GooglePixel
  1. That is only relevant if you are buying a USB A to C cable. Most reputable brands should are okay by now.

  2. As long as the cable is good it won't damage your phone. Like your previous phone though, it will charge slowly.

  3. Anker is a good brand. Also personally I've had great success with the Nekteck brand.

  4. Anker is a good brand for chargers too. Also if you want fast charging then you will need to buy chargers that have a USB C port and support USB Power Delivery (USB-PD). For example the Anker PowerPort+5.

I was looking for something as close to the Google Silicon case from the OG Pixel since I loved that case! I own both the Incipio DualPro and the Spigen Thin Fit cases.

https://www.amazon.com/Incipio-DualPro-Google-Shock-Absorbing-Protective/dp/B0766FMYBJ?th=1

The Incepio is probably the closest to the Google case, has good grip and seems like it would offer great drop protection. The downside is that it is a bit bulkier than I like.

https://www.amazon.com/Spigen-Google-Coated-Surface-Excellent/dp/B07475C1VT/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1520454246&sr=8-6&keywords=pixel+2+xl+spigen

The Spigen is much thinner and has good grip. Obviously this one is going to offer less drop protection. I love it so far, the only thing I have noticed is that the near the charger, the lip of the case is slightly pointy which can be uncomfortable for me since I like to use my pinky to hold up the phone.

Pixel 3 XL cases on Amazon & w/ Amazon Prime for $15<

u/ThirtyThirtyWin · 1 pointr/GooglePixel

I have Caseology's other 2XL case, the Vault. Really happy with it. I was hoping Spigen would do a Slim Armor case for the 2XL, but they only have the bulkier Tough Armor. I had the Slim Armor series for my LG G3, and loved it. Caseology's vault has been perfect so far.

I ordered the google cloth case with my phone, but wasn't a fan. Also tried this thin "snap" case. I'll say this: it holds the phone very well. It was a pain in the ass to get the case off. Didn't like it because I didn't think it would protect the phone much, and there was no front lip to allow me to set the phone face down.

Still looking for a good tempered glass screen protector. How are you liking yours?

Pitaka MagCase

The Pitaka is by far the case I use the most. The $10 car mount that the case works with is fantastic. If anyone wants to buy I can share a code to save you 10%. I like slim cases and I have a full coverage loca screen protector installed too, InvisShield.

u/Galaxy_2000 · 4 pointsr/GooglePixel

I bought this:

https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Premium-Charger-PowerPort-Delivery/dp/B01D8C6ULO

The 3.0 is for data speed. You're not going to be transferring data to a charger. For cables relating to charging (not data transfer) all you should care about is that they're safe and won't fry your devices. The 2.0, 3.0 won't be an issue in terms of charging.

Get some Amazon Basic Type C to C cables. That's what I got. :)

Also, take a look at Nathan K.'s stuff too. He's a little more active than Benson at the moment I believe.

Happy hunting.

u/Seraphus · 3 pointsr/GooglePixel

I've had smart phones since before the first iPhone and I've never used cases. I got a few for the Pixel. I love thin and minimalist design so I tried to get the least intrusive cases possible. My favorite ended up being the Bear Motion case with sandstone texture. Here it is if you're interested:

https://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Slim-Case-Google-Pixel/dp/B01MA16WSH/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1479960381&sr=8-1&keywords=bear+motion

I got 4 other slim cases, maybe I'll post my reviews on them sometime if people are interested.

u/Erehk · 1 pointr/GooglePixel

I have the Ringke Fusion case and I really like it. It's thin and doesn't add much bulk or extra size, but it's pretty grippy and feels nice in the hand. It's also very inexpensive.

I really like the mSnap case. Very slim and very sturdy, offers good protection against drops. The finish is very nice too (satin/felt like).

edit: lip over screen is just right, full coverage tempered glass friendly also a slight raise over the camera to protect the lens glass.

u/andyooo · 4 pointsr/GooglePixel

You also need to understand the reasons why the chargers didn't get a perfect 3. Usually it's not a dangerous issue, just a technicality that won't really affect you.

As for recommendations, the best overall charger I got is the Anker Powerport+ 5 USB-PD one, it compensates for the inevitable voltage drop in the cables. The non-PD one is also good, but the C port is 15W max (3A), which is fast enough, but for some reason it doesn't charge at all with the supposedly fully compliant Apple USB-C charging cable (the revised version). In my testing I haven't really noticed much difference in charging times, especially to 100%, since 18W tends to heat up the phone more and throttle charging, and after about 30-40% the phone doesn't seem to ask for 18W anymore at all.

Also bear in mind that if the voltage is not high enough, the phone will request less power. For instance, I have a RAVPower USB-C battery (non-PD), and it barely reaches 5V out of the C port (measured with the Plugable USB-C meter). Depending on the cable used (generally speaking longer is worse), the phone may request something like 7.5W (USB BC 1.2 spec I guess). I need to use an extremely short 6-inch Amazon to be sure it requests 15W. Longer cables are not surefire that they will make the phone request full charge speed.

I'd also recommend getting a USB-C and maybe a USB-A power meters to test.

u/CaptainMudwhistle · 1 pointr/GooglePixel

It's a good phone. Very nice camera and everything is speedy. It's stock Android, so you don't have lots of junkware and ads and stuff you get preloaded on other phones. A good device that should last a few years.

Also, I'd recommend this case to go with it:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H5S33FL

It doesn't add much bulk and has a good texture.

u/FauxCole · 1 pointr/GooglePixel

These are fantastic. The battery life is great, they stay in the ear well and come with a ton of different in-ear buds for different shaped ears. Plus Anker is a great brand, so if any problems occur, I'm sure they'll handle it.

Thats the case I bought when I first got my Pixel. I was tailgating and dropped my phone on the concrete and it slide face down about 10 feet away, i was worried to pick it up but the case did its job and didnt touch the screen or mark up my phone at all. It is pretty thin (not like the peel or mnml) I also have the spigen clear crystal and I keep coming back to the one i sent in the link. I also have the dbrand bumper which should be showing up today so I can report back on that as well.

u/gotamd · 2 pointsr/GooglePixel

I just got a clear protector (case friendly) from IQ Shield, and it's great. I tried a matte protector (full screen coverage) first, but I didn't have the patience to do the edges and ended up going with this one.

The protector itself is still larger than the actual display area and the borders work great with the Spigen Thin Fit case (I got it because of the cutout for a magnetic mount plate) which I'm also using. It's not a tempered glass protector, so you do get that plastic-y feel and small amount of the orange peel look, but that's just a fact of life with the wet-apply, plastic protectors.

Hi there! here are some suggestions for power banks that satisfy any needs you can have for the purpose of charging the pixel line and like devices

I highly recommend these ones because I have had experience using these and feel they check all my boxes. That is, they support USB Power Delivery (PD) and Qualcomm Quickcharge (QC), and in effect rapidly charge all my devices that support fast charging:

[Jackery Power Bar] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076DXWPHS/ref=sspa_dk_detail_1?psc=1)
This one is my favorite because it also has an AC outlet to charge most U.S. laptops. It is so freaking convenient for studying on my computer on the go.

[iWALK Power Bank] (https://www.amazon.com/iWALK-20000mAh-Portable-Delivery-Nintendo/dp/B078NSC4QG/ref=sr_1_22?ie=UTF8&qid=1520746914&sr=8-22&keywords=usb+pd+power+bank)

Here are some that I have not owned, but after research seem to be worth recommending (of course, do your own analysis). I believe all three of these support USB PD and Qualcomm QC:

[Anker PowerCore] (https://www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerCore-20100mAh-Portable-Delivery/dp/B071WNWRNC/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1520744694&sr=8-4&keywords=usb+pd+power+bank)

[Aukey Power Bank] (https://www.amazon.com/AUKEY-26500mAh-Portable-Delivery-Nintendo/dp/B071CQYBSN/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1520744694&sr=8-8&keywords=usb+pd+power+bank)

Here are some that I am skeptical about for different reasons, but they did catch my eye while researching:

[PURIDEA Power Bank] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0794V63VJ/ref=sspa_dk_detail_0?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B0794V63VJ&pd_rd_wg=OQUVw&pd_rd_r=42A3W5CMQPF2VADS872F&pd_rd_w=NlRw8)

[RAVPower Portable Charger] (https://www.amazon.com/Portable-RAVPower-20100mAh-Transfer-Smartphones/dp/B0156HCJQO/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1520744694&sr=8-13&keywords=usb+pd+power+bank)

[ZeroLemon Juicebox Portable Charger] (https://www.amazon.com/ZeroLemon-USB-Type-Portable-Charger/dp/B071HQFYRR/ref=sr_1_19?ie=UTF8&qid=1520744694&sr=8-19&keywords=usb+pd+power+bank)

Let me know if you have any questions. Disclaimer: I am not associated with any of these products.

I'm also a fan of the Spigen thin fit cases and was bummed that it wasn't available for the Pixel XL. I took a $13 gamble on this Maxboost mSnap Thin Case on Amazon and am super pleased. I took a few shitty quality pictures of it. Sorry - my home office is super dark. http://imgur.com/a/Ybhbi

u/MarkWallace101 · 1 pointr/GooglePixel

I did have one on, yes, but I took it off and the behavior stayed the same. Google ended up walking me through all sorts of basic troubleshooting steps, and in the end I did a factory reset and that's improved the swiping quite a bit, so I'd say it works about 70-75% of the time now. Which is good enough for me at this point.

The important thing to look at is which USB-C Power Delivery profiles both you device an charger support. Your device will usually fast charge at the highest profile booth devices support, then drop to 5v once the battery is mostly charged. Chargers usually have the supported profiles written in tiny text on them. Devices you usually have to Google around to figure out what they support.

I really like the this Anker charger that will charge my Pixel, Switch, and MacBook pro (though only at 2A@15v):

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01D8C6ULO

I would avoid mixing devices and charger that do and don't support Power Delivery, like Nexus 5x/6p era stuff and 2016+ stuff.

If you really want to go down to rabbit hole, you can get one of these devices to see what's going on:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01MT8MC3N/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1497123782&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=usb+c+power+meter&dpPl=1&dpID=31YLC7vMnbL&ref=plSrch

The point of these slim cases in my opinion is to protect from scratches from in your pocket or sliding across a table rather than dents and dings that you'd get if you dropped the device. I'd recommend this from personal use. It is slim, protective, and aesthetically pleasing.

Ideally you want a device with USB-C Power Delivery support so you get faster charging.

This newest device from Anker, the Anker PowerCore+ 26800 PD with 27W PD Portable Charger, should work for that:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MZ61PRW/

Granted it is more expensive.

When I was in the market several months ago I bought the Anker PowerCore+ 20100 USB-C model:

https://www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerCore-Ultra-High-Capacity-Portable/dp/B014ZO46LK/

FYI if you need a standalone brick charger as opposed to a power bank, this model appears to work, as per this Nathan K mentioned analysis:

This Spigen Tempered Glass protector is the one I'm currently using on my black pixel. I've used 2 others since I've had this phone and this is by far the best. I really don't even notice it most of the time and it makes the bezels a darker black which looks really good. It is a little expensive for just one protector but it went on extremely easily and I think it is much worth it for the quality.

Thanks for the information, I almost just purchased this. I have an FR-S as well ('14). I'm having difficulty finding information on the significance of IF certification. Any idea if this one would be any better? What is the significance of having the certification?

u/forthelol · 1 pointr/GooglePixel

IMO, you're better off buying a power bank as opposed to a case for cross-device compatibility. The battery cases for the Pixel has been a hit-or-miss, and they're going to run you about 40-50 each, whereas something like the Anker Powercore+ 20k will run you $66 or the 26k will run you $83. Neither will be as portable as the case itself obviously, but it lets you charge multiple devices at the same time, supports rapid charging with USB C, and can be used with other USB C devices like later generation Thinkpads, the new Macbook, and of course the Pixel

u/AndyHazz · 1 pointr/GooglePixel

I've had two different screen protectors on my 4xl ... The first from ESR had that black border around the edge and was, in my opinion, awful. The black border is there to cover up the fact that the screen has subtly curved edges but any screen protector will be flat and leave a 'halo' around the edge where it's not completely flush.

Having that black border though completely ruins the look of the screen, instead of it feeling like the display is on the surface it appears set back, like you're looking through a window frame. It also makes all of the sensors in the forehead really stand out as the black border has a different reflectivity compared to the cutouts for the sensors. On its own the Pixel does a pretty good job of hiding these.

For my second screen I got one with no border, and just a cutout for the front camera and speaker. Much better. It came with some silica oil and a little brush which magically sealed the edges and got rid of that halo effect.

MaxBoost mSnap is my favorite. I had one for the OG Pixel and after trying the fabric case and the Power Support AirJacket for the Pixel 2 XL, this is the thinnest, least intrusive case that still has a lip on the front and extends past the camera on the back. The fingerprint reader is way easier to slide into versus the fabric case too.

I bought a Spigen case from Amazon UK and I really like mine. Flexible, cheap, and has protected my Pixel 3 like crazy (multiple drops and falls)

I have a lumsing one that I like. It is 10,000mAh.
Lumsing USB C External Battery Pack 10050 mAh, Quick Charge 3.0 Power Bank USB-C Battery Charger Type C Charging Block for nexus 6p iPhone Samsung and https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01I4KHXM0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_OANFhA4kFGGCH

The thing I kind of like about the Lumsing is that it has 2 inputs. So if I'm carrying the correct cords, it can be charged quickly. The anker below, and an older version of that size Anker have been awesome for conferences and Disney but take a long time to charge. If you only need to charge one device, the one above is probably fine. If you want to be able to charge your phone and a tablet also, the bigger one is probably better. And the reason I have 2 options instead of 1.

And this Anker one:

It physically pains me to use a phone in a case, but accidents happen. As a case-hater, I've been happy with this one (it's TPU): https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H5S33FL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Good protection without being too bulky. I've already dropped it in the case from shoulder height without any damage to the case or phone.

I have a Rav Power pack that has 20100mAH. It's not the newest model, but it's been going strong for thousands of miles of travel for 2.5 years now. It has two regular USB ports too (one quick charge) so I can charge multiple devices at once. The extra power is great for road trips because I can go multiple days between charges (handy if you forget it in the car when you check into a hotel).

u/Berzerker7 · 8 pointsr/GooglePixel

"USB-PD" is a USB spec for fast charging, Power Delivery.

The Pixel 2 (XL) support up to 18W charging over USB-PD, 9V/2A, but also support regular USB-C charging at 15W, 5V/3A.

27W USB-PD charging, 9V/3A, is not supported on the Pixel 2/XL.

The 15W Belkin charger is a little expensive for what it is. I'd get this over it, it's also USB-IF certified, and supports 5V/3A charging over USB-C.

u/ProteusP · 1 pointr/GooglePixel

This case by Maxboost is very popular on amazon. Has anyone here given it a shot? Seems the black is Out of Stock though.

I curretnly have an Incipio DualPro and it's too thick and too slippery for me. I need somthing thinner on the XL otherwise it feels like a brick.

u/LAZER-RAGER · 2 pointsr/GooglePixel

Links to the Anker PDs for the lazy:

10,000 mAh ($45.99)

20,100 mAh ($99.99)

26,800 mAh ($129.99)

I personally have the 10,000 mAh for my Pixel 2 XL. My phone already lasts all day with my current usage and this battery bank can charge it almost three times over while still being small enough to fit in my pocket. It comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable, and the battery itself can also be charged via your everyday phone charger. PD means it's capable of fast charging (verified by the "charging rapidly" notification on my lockscreen. I used it to camp at Paradiso this year (two-day music festival) and it was perfect.

The other two are overkill, but they seem handy for charging all your friends' devices and laptops on week-long trips.

u/dpyn016 · 1 pointr/GooglePixel

Correct. I bought a Spigen one that came the same day. Probably put it on an hour after the skin. Case here

Happy with the case and fairly happy with the skin. It's a little rough on the sides. Feels scratchy and I notice it more on the right since it is very slightly off center. Looks flawless around the camera but you can tell at the power button when viewing in person. First skin though so I'm not too mad.

u/freshbeatsinc · 1 pointr/GooglePixel

I'd recommend this guy for a screen protector (Spigen Full Cover Glass): https://www.amazon.ca/Spigen-Google-Screen-Protector-Tempered/dp/B01N8S5R93/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1501820609&sr=8-3&keywords=spigen+pixel

It's one of the only ones that covers the entire screen and doesn't have any halo or rainbow effects. There are some negative reviews on amazon, but I have it and can only assume that they must not have applied it correctly.

For a case I got the Case by Google silicon case (grey). Not the most protective, but I think it's pretty great. I tried out an Otterbox Commuter and an Incipio Dualpro, but I found they were just too bulky. Only issue with the Google case is that it's stupidly expensive for what it is. I grabbed mine on sale though.

Anker is good: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker-PowerLine-Durability-Including-Matebook-Gray/dp/B01LNA0XCU/

but Amazon's own brand is fine, particularly for £5.49: https://www.amazon.co.uk/AmazonBasics-Double-Braided-Type-C-Silver/dp/B07CWFNWBW

For some reason, the plain plastic cable is £6.99 on .co.uk (I bought a two-pack of these for €7 on .de a while back): https://www.amazon.co.uk/AmazonBasics-USB-Type-C-2-0-Cable/dp/B01GGKZ1VA/

Of the above, I have all three. Amazon's braided cable is a quality product and I'd definitely recommend it for day-to-day use. I use it to charge my laptop and my Pixel; the plain ones are 'extras' in the car or the kitchen drawer.

These are all USB 2.0 cables, so they'll be slow for moving data but will still charge as fast as any device allows.

ETA: hell, the 3m Amazon braided cable is still only £5.49. I'd get that one for sure.

The grip is just tape you can buy on Amazon. GT5000 tape. Primarily used for gun grips. I just cut it to size with a box cutter.

The edge protection on the Parallax is a "harder plastic" almost bumper feeling plastic, but the back, bezel protection and inner liner are TPU.

I also got the Caseology Vault case, but will probably return it as it just seems slick on the back even though it is textured.

It. Is. Beefy.

I guess technically it fits ("fits") in a pocket. Sort of. But it sort of looks like you're carrying a brick around. Forgot any "happy to see me" jokes, because, well, it bulges all the way up to the edge of my Levi's pockets.

Having said that, it carries a ton of charge. I can use it to fully charge my Pixel and it barely notices. My friends use it. It's a party. Power to spare makes you a hero. Unfortunately it can't push the 45W my Thinkpad wants to charge and work at the same time, but it will charge my laptop when it's off.

USB C works both directions. The only hiccup there is, you have to turn on the battery before plugging in your phone for it to properly negotiate who charges whom.

I dig it. ... When I'm gone for a full day or I'm traveling and I've got a messenger bag anyway. But it's way overkill for just throwing in your pocket for a quick pick-me-up at 7pm. Assuming it even fits in your pockets.

The USB-C port will activate rapid charge on the Nexus and Pixel. Note that if you plug a USB-C cord into it without powering it on, whatever is plugged into it will actually charge the pack. To charge your phone, activate output first, then plug the cable into the phone.

u/Namika · -11 pointsr/GooglePixel

I think it can charge 70% in 15 minutes... but not with the stock charger.

With the stock charger I get very close to 1% per minute (and it says Charging Rapidly). I'm fine with that, as 50% charged in under an hour is really quite nice.

However the other day on a road trip o charged my phone with my external USB battery power pack. You'd think a portable battery would charge slower than directly plugging it into the wall adaptor, but on this battery it charged twice as fast. I went from 10% to 100% in under an hour.

Roughly speaking, the stock adapter charged it at 1% per minute and I got 2% per minute with the portable battery. But to get "70% charged in 15 minutes" like the ad claims, you'd have to charge at over 4% per minute. That seems insane, and is way higher than anything I've seen so far. Maybe in a few months some super amped up chargers will come out?

u/arnham · 0 pointsr/GooglePixel

Qualcomm quick charge 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 chargers will never charge a pixel rapidly as it uses the USB-C Power Delivery instead of the proprietary qualcomm quick charge. That applies whether it's a traditional AC charger or an external battery. It's falling back to standard charging rates as it should.

You would need something like this that supports the USB-PD standard for it to charge rapidly.

Forgot to mention I purchased this case that should be coming tomorrow. I've had luck with this brand in the past.

I've never found a pair of bluetooth earbuds that had a good mic for call quality. I do a lot of conference calls for work so a good mic is key.

Thinking of trying this pair. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0721MP41Q/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A294P4X9EWVXLJ&psc=1

I was recommended this charger when my last one caused the screen on my first Pixel 2 to short out and not work. Works as intended and even allows for rapid charging as well as an additional USB plugin.

u/FZ_Nation · 2 pointsr/GooglePixel

No, works just fine. There's a clear section for the camera (covered) but cutouts for the speaker on top. This is the one: https://www.amazon.com/Spigen-Protector-Tempered-Protection-Friendly/dp/B01N8S5R93

u/apriarcy · 2 pointsr/GooglePixel

Do you bubbles disappear when you put pressure on them and then re-appear after you remove pressure? If so, then the curvature of the screen is your problem. I used these on the Pixel's that my GF and I both use. No bubbles, perfect fit. I trusted the online review of other screen protectors and it really paid off.

They make them for the Pixel XL as well.

I bought this case and it works as somewhat of a minimal case. It has protection on all corners and a small lip on the front to protect the screen.

I have this one. I don't use it too much, but it was a lifesaver when I was on my honeymoon two months ago.

The normal USB port doesn't seem to fast charge my wife's S7 which is a little unfortunate, but it fast charge my Pixel XL.

I would stay clear of Aukey, as they have always failed Nathan K's and Benson's USB C tests for not having the appropriate connections. I either go fully with Google branded chargers or Anker. There were so many unknowns right now in the world of USB C and seeing tests from the two mentioned above. The more specific I can be, the better I'll be in the long run.

Here is the Anker 5 port.

Just to clarify I am no way affiliated with Anker. I just like their products.

I would recommend Anker and Aukey from my experience

I have this one from Maxboost. It's probably the thinnest case I've ever had, and I go for thin. My wife has that Caseology Parallax case everyone bought a couple of weeks ago, and it actually feels like a different (bigger) phone when you see them side by side.

u/Peylix · 1 pointr/GooglePixel

Anker even has a PD powerbank.

Which would be what I would recommend over FC/QC banks.

u/crashumbc · 2 pointsr/GooglePixel

While I have (and like) this case. It's not really a minimalist design, and adds a fair amount of "bulk" to the phone.

The below might be more light weight (but gives up protection as stated in the reviews)

I'm not very drop prone for my phones, but I wanted a bit more grip and a bit of general scratch protection for the back. Big fan of it so far.

I don't have the UAG case I ordered to see how those buttons are affected, though.

u/t3oh · 2 pointsr/GooglePixel

Trianium is the same exact case and much cheaper as well.

This Anker one is nice. The PowerCore+ 20100 USB-C.

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B014ZO46LK

It's normally $120, but is currently 50% off.

One of the few with a USB-C port.

I just bought this car charger which states that it supports power delivery, so it should rapid charge. I have not had a chance to use it yet, but could tell you how it works tomorrow!

I really doubt you need to worry about frying your devices. Also, if you want to charge to the max, you'll need new cables. Those USB A cords don't usually cut it. You'd be better off buying some usbc to lighting cables and usbc to usbc cables to keep around the house.

Don't worry about 3.0 cords either. Sounds like you'll need 2.0 cords only.

My power bank will charge my Pixel rapidly.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019IFIJW8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I am unclear if your device is charging wirelessly, quickly, or via wireless. You will not get quick charge unless the device supports it (and in my experience, only if you have USB-c on both ends).

u/Orion5289 · 2 pointsr/GooglePixel

This is the case I currently have from Spigen...
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H5QSDW5/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_Q5oCDb5PT3B2T
It's really nice and light but the edges are raised slightly and they have a little point to them so it's really annoying when doing the back gestures. I'm hoping to find one that doesn't have this problem.

u/BevansDesign · 1 pointr/GooglePixel

The Powercore+ 20100 is only $66, which seems more reasonable to me. Aside from having 25% less power, I'm not sure if it's missing any other useful features that the 26800 has.

Can someone more familiar with batteries chime in?

u/busmaster · 3 pointsr/GooglePixel

The one with USB-c is supposed to go on sale tomorrow AM. I have it on my watch list
