The sharpie he is having a problem with is probably one of these Sharpie Oil Based Paint Markers. I don't think your idea to use spit would work, or that it's "super easy to get off glass".

The reason I suggested glass is because as far as I know that's what the LCD screen surface is made of. There might be a coating too.

Windex works similarly to lye. The ammonia dissolves in water to create ammonium hydroxide whereas the lye is sodium hydroxide. In both cases, the hydroxide deprotonates fatty acids, which makes them soluble in water.

Your idea to try nail polish remover (acetone) is a good idea.

This is an awesome display of community and courage, no doubt about it, it's inspiring.

That said, I'm gonna hijack this top comment for a sec just to point out that this is a great example of why you wanna have some kind of glass break tool in your car at all times. I have one of these on every one of my key rings so it's always with me whenever I'm in a car. Doesn't have to be this one, but get yourself one. It's cheap insurance and you'll wish you had one in a situation like this (or worse if you go into a lake and that car starts filling up real quick)

Again, hate to hijack, this was an incredibly inspiring display.

Yeah it's pretty amazing. The doctor who discovered phantom pain wrote a book about it, if you're interested:

https://www.amazon.ca/Phantoms-Brain-Probing-Mysteries-Human/dp/0688172172/ref=nodl_

It's from 1998 so the science has probably progressed a fair amount, but I think it would still be an interesting read.

Have you tried using an undercoat rake? I recently got one for my long-haired cat and it's been pretty amazing so far. It doesn't tug like the furminator and it's better at removing loose fur, so as long as it's used regularly I don't think mats can develop in the first place.

Actually...yeah, I do. I see it a lot at re-enactment events and sometimes at Farmer's markets. It's easier (for slightly obvious reasons) to find it at Christmas fairs - starting in November. I bought both to put in my Mom's nativity scene a few years ago. :-)

Also, Amazon has both. However, it will be cheaper at a fair towards November than buying it off of Amazon.

This is awesome. I would recommend trading in the candy for some glucose paste. It's much more effective, and less of a choking hazard.

Make sure you get an "add-a-circuit" too, as it makes wiring the power magic pro easier. You add a circuit instead of wrapping the cam wires around the fuse. I did the install myself. I didn't have experience either, I honestly watched YouTube videos. I got myself a 12v tester, which lights up when it completes a circuit. You need that to find out which fuse is constant and which are only live when the vehicle is on.

If anyone reading this guy's comment finds this sort of stuff interesting, I would highly, highly recommend this book on Morality, Justice, Society, that sort of thing. This comment reminded me of this guy's writing style & I couldn't put this thing down:

Justice by Michael J. Sandel

I guess I get to be the turd in the punch bowl.

Mario Batali is being really nice to a famous celebrity, in said celebrity's moment of need. Which, good for you Mario; that's great.

But you still stole tons of money from your workers. And there are stories about your conduct elsewhere.

So, I mean, well done here but maybe apply the same attitude to everybody.

Hey you might want to look into buying surgical needles online. So sharp they go through thick skin like butter, they're hollow to allow for drainage, and usually bigger around than a sewing needle so the resulting hole is bigger.

Something like this maybe http://smile.amazon.com/100-Body-Piercing-Needle-Sizes/dp/B00JJ1HNT2

One of those magnet cleaning things might help, but only if your windows crack, which many in NYC do not. They don't need to fully open, just enough to get your hand out.

The Wisdom of Psychopaths: What Saints, Spies, and Serial Killers Can Teach Us About Success https://www.amazon.com/dp/0374533989/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_WYogzb3H20HN7

That's the book. They asked a question along the lines of "what's the difference in this group of pictures?" And the difference wasn't the subject. The difference was the persons hand in all of the shots had six fingers, and for some reason psychopaths tend to notice those things more than others.

Here's one on Amazon that even advertises itself as being there to bypass the law

If the dogs at the VA had them on, well they're to help anyways and prolly dont need the vest anyways.

The purpose of the service dog vests are to show people "Hey, youre not supposed to touch this dog" because it's doing a job and cant be distracted. The only time you should pet a service dog is with permission from the owner, which is what made me think the person you met didnt really have a service dog.

That's like a $200 cooler. You've got some really nice customers.

Remember the greatest gift you can give her is the boundaries and space to discover that she is enough on her own.

Not a danby shill, but I own a mini fridge of theirs. Very good quality.

EDIT: This one for anyone wondering.
