The dinky DAC used in USB headphones are most of the times worse than what's built in to the 3.5mm port from a console or PC. And the original post was not talking about a mic stand, it was talking about a $50 attachment that can go on just about any pair of headphones
If you plan your headphones well, so that they have a detachable 3.5mm cord there's other options too. I bought a pair of Philips SHP9500 and a Boompro mic for $110. Both the mic and audio quality are much better than what I'd get from an equivalent HyperX headset

theres only a few on amazon, or available in general. the solid black ones are hte original from back in the day. these newer ones are bit better quality and the software more up to date, but the software is also hit or miss for more complicated functions. i use it primiarly for push to talk now.
