I have not been quoting her book in multiple comments; I had one other comment where I stated that contrary to popular belief, Lynne did not say anything about Britney's virginity, bipolar diagnoses, etc. There are many false reports regarding the actual content of her book, which I have read and know is void of many rumored stories.

Jamie did not deny anything Lynne - or anyone else - said about him. I was only stating the reasons why Britney herself has said she has "never had a good relationship with [her] father." This is hardly a secret and not worth debating further. The court doesn't argue his past either, and that wasn't even why I mentioned his past - again, I'm referring to Britney's childhood and how it shaped her relationship with her father. Regardless, Lynne and Jamie were on good terms back in 2008, and she was not trying to assassinate his character. She was just telling her story. They actually got back together at one point... the story didn't change.

There is a history of contentious situations with the judge involved in Britney's case. I'll share a few: https://web.archive.org/web/20111203192937/http://www.judgerevagoetz.com/

http://www.therobingroom.com/california/Judge.aspx?id=15067

Which makes this even more interesting: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D4UvqtlXoAAfFkX.jpg

Regarding the commentator who said Britney's mom discussed bipolar in her book (which is 100% false), TMZ is known for speaking to Britney's team; in fact, it's known that the team uses TMZ, E! News, People magazine, etc. to control various narratives surrounding her life. That's fine - it's how they protect her from unfavorable rumors these days, which is understandable after the intense scrutiny and violations of privacy she's endured. For the record, TMZ stated a few weeks ago that she has a bipolar diagnosis, but quickly deleted all mentions of the diagnosis. Today they said they've spoken to many people "in her world," and she has never received a formal bipolar diagnosis, but she absolutely "must" take the medications because of "similar symptoms."

If true (again, I do not know Britney nor do I claim to, but I don't feel bad discussing this given her team's relationship with TMZ and their desire to put it out there), it's very interesting how someone who has been under two 5150s and seen many top doctors has never received a formal diagnosis. I know my doctor wouldn't put me on those strong meds if I didn't officially have bipolar. I am not privy to all the personal details of Britney's life, but guardianship abuse is not uncommon whatsoever, and I hope she has someone helping her out because even her best friend since childhood whom she still sees today - Jansen - is following the #freebritney movement and responding with thumbs up. Remember Jansen from For the Record, Britney in Hawaii, preschool pictures, etc.? She's been there since day one and is still a best friend to Brit: https://www.instagram.com/p/BPgswBNgDh1/?hl=en

When a 37-year-old woman can't even pick her own friends, go to the bathroom alone, consent to taking a selfie without her father's permission (Mario Lopez also commented on this to say he remembered), etc., that would make anyone feel incredibly stifled. There are many ways to help someone that don't involve completely stripping them of their rights - I know this personally.

I'm not saying I know what's best for her, but again, I really hope someone who is legally authorized is watching this very carefully. It's not up to me, of course, but I just hope she's okay. Apparently her best friend doesn't think she is; there are messages of her saying she believes prayers are needed.

We'll see what happens. I personally hope she escapes the spotlight forever and do not care to purchase any music or concert tickets from her. I haven't in years.

“Go ahead and see what you can do, because you have been deemed incapacitated, so everything you say or do is meaningless,” said Brenda Uekert, principal court research consultant with the National Center for State Courts. “You can’t even get an attorney, because a judge has already determined that you don’t have the ability to make decisions for yourself.”

Often, it is only possible to take the conservator to court through an uphill battle and regain the rights of the individual after a lengthy fight.

Other situations increase the difficulty of pursuing the claim if the person under the conservatorship is legally deemed incapacitated. The court considers these elderly individuals as unable to make decisions for themselves. Reversing this is usually the first item to accomplish.

To piggyback on this, it might be useful to explain why the legend of Krampus is not so wide-spread. As cited in the book Christmas Curiosities (an excellent collection Victorian-era Christmas prints and an examination of the weird traditions they show), prior to the late 1800s, printed media was very expensive, to the point that most people who weren't part of the upper class wouldn't normally encounter it. Without TV, radio, or even printed media to give people an idea of "This is the normal way to celebrate Christmas." holiday traditions were much more localized before this time. There would be Christmas traditions not only exclusive to countries, but to certain areas of countries or even specific towns.

As technology in printing became more widespread and cheaper, you get things like ads, calendars, and post cards that kind of normalize things like how to celebrate Christmas and who Santa is and what he looks like and what he does. However, during the early years of mass printed media, you see these weird traditions on display, because people were making cards and ads out of the way they had always celebrated Christmas. So, you see angels and/or baby Jesus delivering presents instead of Santa, Santa variously looking like an elf, a saint, a skinny old man, or the fat man we know today. Sometimes he brings switches for the naughty children, sometimes a helper like Krampus does it instead.

Krampus was particularly popular in German countries and even in the US among the German immigrant population. It is likely that he is drawn from earlier pagan traditions. However, the whole association with this devil-like figure at Christmas fell out of favor in most places and today, it's mainly localized to Austria, Slovenia, and Croatia.

> Ethiopian emissaries did pass through Bohemia on their way north at one point

And any citation of that...?

>If it's referring to trade between solely central and west Europe, it's right, but between the near-east and central Europe Bohemia was a logical stop.

Bohemia is Central Europe. And as Sedlar states,

>"Bohemia lay aside from the main long-distance routes through Central Europe, which in medieval times were linked to the Rhine or the Danube and their tributaries. This meant that its foreign trade was largely regional in scope; and Prague lacked the commercial importance of Vienna, Nuernberg, or Regensburg, where transit trade played a major role."

> ...

> "The kingdom of Bohemia was unfavorably situated to profit from staple rights, since the most important medieval transit routes bypassed its territory. The chief international thoroughfares which crossed in Prague--those from Nuernberg into Hungary and from Regensburg to Wroclaw-were of only secondary importance."

So no, hardly "a logical stop". Of "Central/West Europe and Venice, the Kipchak Khanate, Constantinople, and a little thing called the Ottoman Empire", the only route actually passing through Bohemia is the one ending or beginning in Bohemia. Now of course, unless you're insane, if you're going to the east, you actually start south and board a boat in the Adriatic. It's like three times faster.

> And as I pointed out, Ethiopian emissaries did pass through Bohemia on their way north at one point.

"At one point"? That's a rather strong appeal to chance, don't you think? In a land of a few million people, there was an Ethiopian emissary at one point - wonderful, so the average chance for a Medieval Bohemian to meet an exotic foreigner once in his life just went up from 0% to 0.02%! Now that's progress! That would perfectly justify his inclusion in the game! /s

> The level of stubbornness people display on this issue is interesting.

This I agree with; you are indeed exceedingly stubborn.

If you'd like to read about him take a look at this it's good, and I mean REAL good! Hawkeye is an Avenger but just about the only one without any super powers, even Black Widow in her non-movie version has been pumped up with the Russian version of Captain America's super serum. But they keep him around cause he's got crazy good aim, not due to magical potion, just old fashioned hard work. Most people forget that he has great aim with just about anything, he just happens to like arrows best. Plus he has amazing hand-to-hand combat skills thanks to Cap not to mention his boomerang arrows! But bottom line... this is why he's awesome, in a situation where the most powerful beings in the planet feel overpowered this random ass guy with a weapon from the Paleolithic Era decided he wasn't going to sit back and not help. He's ridiculously underpowered for being an Avenger but that's his best attribute.

Hey so I hate to shit in on everyone else's opinions, but they're not really recommending the best gear for your dollar. /r/audiophile has a sticky on this exact subject. Basically the lowest end system they are willing to recommend is a pair of Micca MB42s . If you can spring for the 42x's, they are more than worth the 10 extra dollars. You will need an amplifier to drive them. /r/audiophile reccomends the Muse m50, but I can tell you from personal experience, a lepai 2020a+ with a slightly beefier power supply will run them just fine for half the price. These are pretty chunky speakers, but they'll blow any "pc/gaming" speakers out of the water. If you decide you'd like to go for this, I have about 30 feet of speaker wire lying around that I'd be happy to mail to you to save you the 8 bucks or so. Hope this helps, and happy listening!

yes. not many use it but it exists. I don't know much else but it exists.

You can try this article. It doesn't really help you other then to understand that it's out there.

i have 2 pairs of Jabra Move headphones. Repeatedly recommended by various tech sites as the best bluetooth headphones at any price (there are many wired headphones that beat it supposedly) but we use them all the time and love them. Battery lasts forever (I don't use the pair at work much so I really only charge it once a week and it lasts) and they sound great. Easy reliable connection too.

American lady posts video on facebook of her wearing and playing with this:
http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Awakens-Chewbacca-Electronic/dp/B00SOFZTCW

The noises the mask makes and such makes lady laugh. For like 5 minutes.

Lady is a jolly sort and has an infectious laugh.

Video goes viral and becomes the most watched video uploaded to facebook.

Mainstream media get a hold of the story, news stories appear, lady is interviewed, lady appears on Ellen, does the carpool thing with James Corden and so forth.

As it turns out lady is a good wholesome card-carrying Christian wife and mother - nothing too Westboro, nothing too Ned Flanders. Basically ideal for a internet celebrity going mainstream.

Lady gets $400,000 of free stuff from a Kohl's gift card to her kids get paid scholarships which is detailed in a post I happened to have made yesterday: https://www.reddit.com/r/savedyouaclick/comments/4mk6c9/heres_how_much_money_chewbacca_mom_has_made_since/d3x0bva
(Quick plug for r/savedyouaclick)

Parodies, reaction vids and straight-up leeching of the original video abound. Expect this all to die off in the next few days.

I'm not sure there's going to be a concrete answer for this.

Mostly it's just because of a change in drinking tastes in the last five years or so. A lot of cities are seeing a reemergence of the classic American cocktail. As the Millennial generation continues to age (graduate school, settle into work, explore social bar scenes), many are less interested in two ingredient collins drinks and more interested in craft cocktails. Because of this desire for more "artisan" drinks, there has been a growth in craft beers and liquors. We're seeing more and more small batch gins, whiskeys, tequila, vodkas, etc. With this growth comes clubs, and conventions where craftsmen, brewers, distillers, and hobbyists can get together to share knowledge and have a good time.

If you're interested in cocktails there are resources like The Savoy Cocktail Book, [The Bar Book] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/145211384X/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1), and The Drunken Botanist.

Most of my knowledge comes from an interest in cocktails after years of working as a server and more recently as a bartender.

> e.g. they both use negging but is there a version where it is way more harsh? also, are pick up artists more socially acceptable than the red pillers

"Negging" is a specific PUA technique from the "Mystery Method" that is meant to "break through the bitch shield" and convince a woman that you are (in essence) sincere about engaging her socially and not just messing around. This is perhaps the most positive way to phrase that. PUAs "play a numbers game" in order to engage women that, as they see it, "want to be picked up".

A PUA is on a mission to get himself laid; whether or not that technique leads to something more substantive exceeds the scope of the technique. The general consensus is that these are "Dark Side of the Force" tactics.

Whether this is more socially acceptable than the red-pillers' deeper issues with power and sexual politics probably depends on your perspective.

Vice President Joe Biden has a reputation for speaking his mind. He's had so many gaffes in office (just google: joe biden gaffe) and there's been more than a few times he's just straight up cursed in front of the media, which is unusual for a politician nowadays. People actually love him for this because it makes him seem like a more down to earth real guy who somehow ended up vice president.

The Onion capitalized on this image of him by fictionalizing him as an old guy always getting into young-guy movie-type comedic situations and doing unexpected wild things. Believe it or not it's been a successful parody for The Onion and they have lots of these stories. Joe Biden and the White House administration have also reacted well to the parody but insist that's not his real personality.

This one has always been one of my favorites.

The parodies were successful enough that The Onion released a "autobiography" of their 'Diamond' Joe Biden character. "He" has also done an AMA on reddit.

You could find out for only 9$ now on Amazon. but I think pat131 is right though, it looks like an overhyped basic pentesting manual specially designed to extract money from script kiddies pockets. There are certainly better and more up to date resource available for free on the internet.

ps. "pen-tester" is the politically correct term for Hacker

What is the source of this? This sounds like a flight attendants blog entry and there are some things in it which are untrue. If we're trusting anonymous sources on this, this comment from someone also on the flight seems to indicate the above is not correct:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Dallas/comments/66skqs/american_airlines_dfw_flight_attendant_violently/dglqjco/

>I was also on this flight, the lady had been told at a previous gate(her statement when he was telling her she needed to check it) she could bring on as carry on. She demonstrated to the attendant how small it got, and boy it got small I want one of these myself now(looks like it was some sort of magic quad fold thing that made it look almost like a briefcase). She was afraid the stroller would not be returned at the stop and be forced to walk around with all her stuff and the baby. In fact at one point another flight attendant came back with the stroller and put it in over head storage.
>
>I'm pretty sure they didn't have spare crew for the flight and in order to keep the flight from getting further delayed they let him stay and set her up with a new flight. It's not the best outcome as he should have been removed the second he got all riled up but I can understand doing this rather than making the other people on the plane wait 1-2 hours for a backup to come. This is just my thought on it though. I really would like to make sure they made it home as the babies were playing with me and a couple of other people in the boarding gate before the flight.
>
>Edit: Found the stroller in question here : https://www.amazon.com/Baby-Jogger-City-Tour-stroller/dp/B01J258IBQ?th=1
>
>14lbs weight and i you look at their site they have a bag cover that if used you'd wouldn't think it was a stroller.

In point number 1 in the post above it claims "dragging behind a very large folded stroller that was too big for the overhead bin or to go under a seat. ", and this is obviously not true. In fact, it seems the stroller was already in the overhead when this happened, watch the woman with the package with pink ribbon who's trying to explain to the captain about what happened and you can see she indicates the flight attendant was pulling the stroller down from the overhead.

Also this claim: "After about 40 minutes she deplanes again this time telling all of the passengers, who are now becoming vocal in support of the flight crew" sounds like complete BS, everybody on the video we saw was aghast at what the flight attendant had done and at the :50 mark of original video you can hear passenger say that the flight attendant struck the woman with the stroller while trying to be forceful.

Skyrim has to this day been released on 6 different platforms, but many of these releases cane after initial launch so it’s been a joke for a while that the game will release on every platform known to mankind.

So you might see it being launched on a Game Boy Color or an Apple Watch, or even a graphing calculator (though it hasn’t actually been released on those platforms).

A 7th platform is the joke that Amazon pulled by releasing the game on Amazon Alexa: https://www.amazon.com/Bethesda-Game-Studios-Special-Edition/dp/B07D6STSX8/ref=nodl_
So even Amazon joined in on that joke.

It just seems the meme is making it’s rounds again... and it’ll be back when they release it on ANOTHER platform.

Not an answer, but I just wanted to comment on this huge book entirely dedicated to sea slug haiku: Rise, ye sea slugs!. Pretty solid book too, I recommend it.

Definitely not, although that's very similar. It was definitely WW1, it had a tank and a sopwith of some kind.

Oh I am so going to order this (ok back to the incident at hand) and than what happened?
