I reaally didn't expect this to blow up while I was asleep. I appreciate everyone with the same sentiments. Alright. I've read your comments. I'm going to address all the common stuff.

If anyone cares about my pc specs and the game settings I used I'll list them at the bottom of this comment <3

  1. "WTF just get better wifi?? You don't have fiber dude? what are you ? Poor?"

I actually lol'd at these. I have the best wifi where I live at 70mbps download. It's pretty damn expensive, but I use my computer a lot. Homework, games, youtube, etc., so ultimately it's super worth it. I have spectrum and I live on the west coast. This means that the game is constantly at 80 ping. No, I don't use an ethernet cord. Mainly because I haven't found the time to route it through my house, and honestly I'm not really focused on that right now. My wifi works perfectly fine with everything else. But I mean yeah I guess you guys are right, I should just move to a different state./s

  2. "Uhh, your pc has nothing to do with your wifi smh idiot lol"

    That's the joke homie.

What I'm referring to is the fact that after working $8/hr at a fast-food restaurant as a high school student and building a $1000+ computer solely for this game, shit like this still happens. Why does it happen? Because of bluehole's shitty servers and net-code. Something that is completely out of my control.

  3. "people still play this game?? ? Go play something else"

I enjoy this game. It's brought many good memories, and it keeps on bringin' 'em. I'm aware of all the downfalls it has. Trust me I'm more than 120% aware. Just because it's not your style, or it's hard, or the randomness gets to you, it doesn't mean it can't be fun for other people. I've got tired of this fucking game too. Many times lol. It's still enjoyable to me however, so I'll still play it.

    My specs & game settings:

I used this gaming laptop up until roughly 800 hours.

CPU: Intel i7-8700 - Link (out of stock as of October/6/19)

    RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8) DDR4 3000 - Link

GPU: MSI Geforce 1660ti - Link

Motherboard: MSI Z-370 Pro - Link

    Monitor: MSI Optix MAG 24" 144hz 1ms - Link

Power Supply: EVGA Supernova 650w 80+ Gold - Link

    Storage: ADATA 2TB SSD Link

Fan and cooler are pretty easy to find.

Not the guy you're asking, but you don't need to go apeshit and buy some $150-$200 headset. But two things help better audio quality... better set of headphones and a dedicated sound card or at least an on board that has a build in headphone amplifier.

Also, I would buy a separate desktop microphone + headphones. A lot of times it's tough finding a good headphone with a good sounding microphone. Furthermore, there are issues with headsets where you get a lot of popping, lip smacking, etc since it's close to your mouth or it can catch your breathing and be annoying for people you're playing with. When you separate the two, you get the best of both worlds with a good microphone and a good set of headphones that you can also use to listen to music in public without looking like an idiot wearing a headset.

I'm using this sound card with Sony MDR7506 Professional Large Diaphragm Headphone. Although, the Sony headphones are really high in price right now for some reason, you can get them for $70-80 if you look around. The reason I went with the Sony headphones, they're studio quality professional monitors. I bought these at a suggestion of a Tested review with Patrick Norton about headphones. Basically, he said that so many people who care about accurate audio representation (that's the key, no over Bass, etc) use these headphones as reference. Before, I was using Koss PortaPro Headphones which are still probably the best headphones under $100 by a long shot. My only problem is that they were open and not closed ear, so you get ambient audio mixed in and harder to isolate sounds. If you have a noisy environment around you, look for a closed headphones. They also have a short cable, so you'll need a headphone cable extension if you want to use these on a PC. The Sony have something like an 8 foot cable.

Case is Thermaltake core P3 Snow Edition

Case can be wall mounted or sat vertically or horizontal, its a beautiful case and so far hasn't collected much dust in the 6 months I've had it!

And ram is Avexir Raiden series DDR4 3000

bonus video of ram in action, It is a gorgeous effect! Although i've noticed it's like basically not for sale anywhere so maybe there are some issues with it? So far mine has worked good but I've only had mine for like 6 months.

Bonus Picture of my setup showing my other stuff with my ridiculous keyboard, mouse, and 50 dollar mousepad...

If you want to see a video of the NZXT kraken in action it is absolutely gorgeous, best looking AIO in my opinion and performs decent I have my 6850k OC'd from 3.6 to 4.2 Ghz daily and even rendering video while playing pubg the max ive hit is like 62, usually in the low 50's while gaming.

Ah, well it's good to know it's not just an issue with my GPU at least. Hopefully will be something they manage to iron out as they further optimise. Yes have had the same thing twice crashing when flashbangs have gone off. Not fun!

Hard drive wise I have it installed on a hybrid SSHD. See link:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00ELAVIQ0/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1493851421&sr=8-6&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=seagate+1tb+sshd&dpPl=1&dpID=51YQo9bzYtL&ref=plSrch

I do have a SSD also and may have just about enough space to move it onto this. Do you think that would make a significant difference?

Yes GPU wise, while I haven't had any problems running any other games, I know the one I have is getting on a bit and I'm going to start getting issues as time goes on. I'm toying with the idea of a GTX1080 also or maybe even a Titan if I really want to splash out, I'm just not sure whether the issues I'm having at the moment are caused by my GPU or by under optimisation and therefore I don't need to spring for a new GPU just yet.

2600K and 16gb of DDR3 could carry a better GPU. You'd be pretty well off with an RX 480 or a GTX 1060. Going way up to the $400-$700 range of GPU would be really questionable with a 2600K, but it's not so behind as to not be useful to the current $200-$270 range cards.

Some of the best picks for a 2600K right now:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JHQT1SE/

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MU0OIN5/

RX 480 is generally a few percent faster with 2gb more RAM for a few bucks cheaper, that's what I'd go with. GTX 1060 is a little more expensive for slightly less performance potential, but Nvidia is much more actively involved with game developers on PC so many titles are very well optimized for their hardware. Both are really quite good so it's a hard choice.

Your currently using some of the best headphones available for positional audio. Buy a good DAC/Amp combo and you're good to go. Even something as simple and cheap as this will help TREMENDOUSLY!!! https://www.amazon.com/Syba-SD-DAC63057-Stereo-Headphone-Amplifier/dp/B009WN7QT4 If you could spend a little more get one with more power and you'll be super happy.

If you want just audio excellence for a reasonable price, you will NOT be disappointed with a set of Shure SE215's. I recommend them to everyone.

I bought mine to use as in ear monitors with my old originals band, and they worked wonderfully for that. Now they're my gaming ears. Excellent sound, incredibly comfortable, although if I were buying a new pair I'd probably try the wireless ones. They're incredibly durable as well. There is literally no sound you will miss with these in.

u/Anonymoosy · 3 pointsr/PUBATTLEGROUNDS

I use a basic Garmin HRM you can get on amazon and a generic ANT+ usb stick to pair it to the PC. Garmin sells a USB ANT+ stick, but its twice the price or more usually.

I had some issues at first pairing it to the PC, so you may consider just getting the garmin ANT+ stick instead of generic to maybe ensure easier pairing, especially if you find a good price. I googled around until I figured it out though.

EDIT: The HRM also works with a lot of phones and things like that, my setup with the USB stick is to use it on stream. I recommend reading a bit before buying, there are a few ways to set it up.

u/MEGA_theguy · 10 pointsr/PUBATTLEGROUNDS

It's the game, not my hardware. If the buggy they were driving sounds like it's in front of me, but their subsequent gunfire definitely sounds like it's behind me, it's the game. Plus the HRTF sound option only sites 'remote gunfire,' meaning everyone's but mine and only saying gunfire.

EDIT: this is my headset and no it's definitely not the issue when CSGO sounds perfectly fine

u/AvenirDesign · 1 pointr/PUBATTLEGROUNDS

Try the SSD first for sure, then I would recommend a CPU upgrade. The AMD A10-7850K seems to be your best bet for a FM2+ socket if you can save up enough, it's currently $140 and would perform better than my i5.

Quick Edit: That 1050ti is also just about better than an r9 280 now that you mentioned it has 4 GB vram. A lot of games just eat up vram plus r9 280 = 760 which I'd say 760 = 1050ti at this point.

Your sensitivity is about 23.2 cm, your aiming sensitivity is about 46.3 cm and your scoping sensitivity is about 156 cm per 360, which are very typical average sensitivity settings and they definitely are not too high.

A screenshot from the page, showing where to apply changes here.

FpsCamearFov=103

23.2 cm 1st person hipfire:
(MouseSensitiveName="Normal",LastConvertedMouseSensitivity=0.017210)

23.2 cm 1st person targeting (when you hold RMB):
(MouseSensitiveName="Targeting",LastConvertedMouseSensitivity=0.017210)

46.3 cm Scoping (1x scopes):
(MouseSensitiveName="Scoping",LastConvertedMouseSensitivity=0.012700)

46.3 cm 2X scoping
(MouseSensitiveName="Scope2X",LastConvertedMouseSensitivity=0.020003)

or

156 cm 2X scoping:
(MouseSensitiveName="Scope2X",LastConvertedMouseSensitivity=0.005933)

156 cm 4X scoping:
(MouseSensitiveName="Scope4X",LastConvertedMouseSensitivity=0.013185)

156 cm 8X scoping:
(MouseSensitiveName="Scope8X",LastConvertedMouseSensitivity=0.023898)

I would advice you to find your own sensitivity for the higher zoom scopes though, maybe even for the 4x scope. Typical engagement distance is a lot further than in PS2, so pixel accurate aiming is much more common. "Normal" and "Targeting" are definitely the two important ones for building muscle memory, you don't often do big flicks while aiming down the sights.

If you like to play third person, these are slightly off because third person is always 80 FOV. Unfortunately it's not possible to change sensitivity separately for 1pp and 3pp - you have to sacrifice accuracy in one of them.

> I'm thinking of maybe getting an even bigger mousepad actually to get closer to a 1:1 movement ratio.

Definitely worth it, this is what I have been using for almost a year now. It's an absolutely massive pad and I've loved playing track aim heavy games like Dirty Bomb with it.

Sorry for being so blunt about it. Upon re-reading my previous post I realize I was being rude. My apologies.

To honestly answer your question, pretty much any headsets that are "game" anything are going to be crap, regardless of how much you spent. This is because you are buying something that looks cool and has a mic, not something designed for super-accurate audio reproduction. To get proper audio quality, you need dedicated audiophile headphones without a built-in mic.

Just to save time (and save you money) I will recommend what I use. (NOTE: My headphones are considered "entry level" for audiophiles. Basically, the best bang for the buck. You can get WAY better ones than these, but be prepared to spend big bucks for them.)

I use JVC HARX 900 headphones. These are basically studio-grade "monitor" headphones. Many recording studios use these for musicians and technicians to monitor performances. As such they have very good audio reproduction qualities even at very low volumes. Here's an Amazon link for you:

https://www.amazon.com/JVC-HARX900-High-Grade-Full-Size-Headphone/dp/B0013P3ZOE?SubscriptionId=AKIAILSHYYTFIVPWUY6Q&tag=duckduckgo-d-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B0013P3ZOE

If you can, pick up one of these and try them out. You will immediately hear the difference.

No. SSD will decrease loading times, but it won't give you more FPS.

Your CPU is fine, just get a better GPU and you'll be chillin. +8GB of RAM wouldn't hurt either. SSD is the cherry on top.

spend like 250-300 bucks and get a 2060 and you're good to go.

I recently bought a new monitor and did a ton of research and ended up buying the Viewsonic XG2401 which is widely regarded as the best 144Hz, 1080p monitor and I'm very pleased with it, it's a joy to game on. Personally I feel 1440p is pointless, unless you have a monster PC because you'll want to be hitting at least 100fps with a 144Hz monitor and that's much easier to achieve at 1080p.
