Mrs. Meyer's Hand Soap Lemon Verbena, 12.5 Fluid Ounce (Pack of 3) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ID2NLXK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_KUIxxbHFG4JJX

I had this soap before I used oil based pomades, so I never had a problem getting it off my hands when I started and when I stayed at a hotel and had trouble getting it off my hands I realized why. It has olive oil in it. This soap smells great too, there are several different scents. I found mine at HEB in Texas. Mrs. Meyers also has a lot of all natural cleaning products.

I’ve tried a lot of different products (wax, gel, clay, pomade) and this has been a success for me: relatively inexpensive: Prospectors Iron Ore Strong Hold Pomade 1.5 oz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01IDSGRV6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_wgOEAbHBB527A

I currently use OGX Anti-breakage Keratin Oil Shampoo, and I have used Head and Shoulders as well. Unless you're using oil-based pomades a lot, you need not worry about shampoo brands.

As far as conditioning goes, I skip it every other day. My hair, although thick, can get super silky with conditioning and flattens my hair with just a little bit of pomade.

If you are really on a tight budget and want a water base pomade then you may want to take a look at Clubman Brilliantine and Tres Flores Molding Pomade Both are under $10 for 4oz.

I would stay away from Axe hair products. Especially if you are on a budget. It's around $6-8 for only 2oz and your average water base pomades (decent to good ones) will run you as low as $10-15 for 4oz and you get a much more superior product.

This kit has some nice wide tooth options..I use the short stubby one that fits in your hand. I start styling with a round brush to distribute. Then move to a regular comb to get it in place and then run the wide tooth or my hands through for the finished texture.

Before you go use some expensive product. Go to your local pharmacy and buy some of those cheap clays. See if those work, if they do. You’re welcome. If not, my favorite stuff for my old faux hawk was [this.](Tea Tree Shaping Cream, 3.0 Fl Oz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000UPO54M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_nfyDDb13X0PS6)
The [grooming pomade](Tea Tree Grooming Pomade, 3 oz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00E24RT4U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ZyyDDbZ6BGEPD) is also very good for little quiffs.

Cricket carbon C30 Comb on amazon. It's super strong, heat resistant, and you'll never need another comb again. I had 10 combs, but when I bought this one... I threw all the others away. It's also suuuper affordable at about $5.

Looking at the ingredients, I'd say try Fx's molding wax

https://www.amazon.com/FX-Molding-Wax-2-Ounce/dp/B000GCWNPW

You can find them at most drug stores. Not really my thing, but it works well as a prestyler and some people say they can get a decent amount of hold from it. It's also creamy and quite close to a pomade, although it's a salon product.

I bought from the Nostalgic Grooming website, but here are two amazon links:

Medium hold

Super or Firm hold
