Do you have a Pinterest Board/Spreadsheet of Polishes you own? Link? Alas I do not, but I do have a photo. Back row is Revlon/Sally Hansen, 2nd back are China Glaze, 2nd from front is Ulta3 (Aussie cheapie brand, not the same as Ulta) and Sinful Colors, and front row is OPI, Essie, and misc indies.
Can your SS include gently used polishes/items? For sure!!
What types of items would you enjoy receiving other than polish? I really have no serious preference. I love to be surprised :D I love cat stuff (love my cat, Claus), I'm currently obsessing over the SF Giants (baseballllllllllll!!!!), My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (GO PINKIE PIE)... and just stuff, honestly. I'm not a fussy person and will love and adore anything I'm sent.
Food Allergies: None, but I do not do well with spicy foods so please avoid anything even a lil bit burny.
Favorite Candy/Snacks: I adore sour stuff like warheads, umeboshi... etc... Roll'd Gold pretzels.
Favorite Type of Cookie: Choc chip. Can't go wrong with a classic!
Favorite Scent: So... Sinful. That stuff is amazing, it smells like cake!
Five Desired Polishes/Polish Related Items: Zoya - Zuza, Julep - Monica, Orly Bonder, Seche Vite, BlackSheep Lacquer - Farore.
Favorite Polish Brand: At the moment, China Glaze. I've never tried Butter, Zoya, or Julep >.<
Favorite Color: Pretty? I seem to have a lot of bluey greens so I guess they would be!
Do you have any Hobbies? Gaming :D Annoying my cat, working on my quilt... This is the centre block, all sewn by hand, no machine work... Listening to music... stuff........
Do you Collect Anything? I collect Pinkie Pies (but only the current gen because the older ones are creepy now), I collect the Vinyl Pop figures (I have Fionna and Marceline from Adventure Time and Pinkie Pie), and I collect teas (do NOT like russian caravan style teas)
Favorite animal: Wolf. And then, cat. This is mah tattoo.
What is your lemming (Most wanted polish) I don't think I have one currently to be honest. Probably a popular brand or indie that I haven't tried?
What person (dead/alive) you would like to meet? Richard Branson. Easy. I have his autobiographies and they are AMAZING.
Favorite Music Artist/Type: The Living End. I listen to anything except for a lot of screamy music, country, or rap. There are artists in all those genres that I enjoy but just not a massive fan as a whole.
Favorite Stores to shop at: Kikki K. Oh em gee I adore Kikki K. Also love places like JB HiFi (Aussie version of Best Buy).
Favorite Sports Team/Athlete: SF GIANTS!!!!
One Place You Would Like to Visit: Himeji Castle in Japan :)
Favorite Magazines You Do Not Subscribe To: I have no idea :S I'm not a magazine kinda gal really.
Favorite TV Show: This is a stupidly tough question. I lurrrrrve Detective Conan (Japanese version because the dub was HORRIBLE), Hannibal, Better Off Ted, Orphan Black, Tattoo Rescue, The Amazing World of Gumball, RuPaul's Drag Race (still watching the last season, DO NOT SPOILER)... other shows... I'm not a fan of too many American comedies tbh.
Anything else your SS should know about you: I'd be grateful for a fart in a box (please don't) :D I'm so excited to be a part of this event so I will love whatever you send!!!
Hello lovely! You seem to be doing awesome! I mean, they're already pink, you totally know what you're doing. ;)
Okay, so for the chipping so quickly, check out this super crappy video!. I never could find a close up of exactly how to do it on Youtube, so yeah. There's my face. This will help to extend the life of the top coat and thus mani! If it gets on your fingers, no biggie. It comes off in the shower or with acetone. :)
Here's what I use for a base coat, and generally for making my nails long and strong. Bats suggestion is another super common one! This one just happened to work well for me to help with chipping, so I figured kill two birds with one stone. I pair this with (I go through rotations and use what fits my needs...) either seche or this quick dry topper Poshe. Both seem to be nice, but I have noticed Poshe can be easier on the cuticle edges when it dries... Less pull of the coloring perhaps?
This is the set I use for clean up around the cuticle edges right now. The "ideal" is to paint a centimeter or something AWAY from the cuticle, then use the brushes (I dip in pure acetone) to perfectly clean up the line or round it out! The top coat generally should land/start in that blank space, so it's double effective to paint away from the edge initially. :D
Also, it will make a huge difference if you start pushing your cuticles back! I use this metal set because I'm irrationally terrified of getting splinters from the wooden ones. I use a cheap walmart cuticle softner before pushing back, but this is my dream formula since it's so highly recommended. BY pushing them back when you start to see them, it helps clear the nail and thus have less to let the polish stick to! Hurray! You're not supposed to use the scary looking scissor thingies too often, but I do use it on one very specific corner on my left thumb. I have one stupid stubborn cuticle skin flap that refuses to go away without being gently tweezed/cut off. I always make sure to wash with an anti bacterial soap immediately after and like to slather on some delicious cuticle oil LIKE PUMPKIN BANANA BREAD after to give them some softness again!
If you've got any more questions, I WOULD LOVE TO HELP YOUUUUU. <333
i've been desperately wanting opi nail envy ever since you wonderful people introduced me to it. my nails break so easily and are very difficult to grow so this stuff is almost a necessity for me haha. it's only $6.40 and there's free shipping!
i totally stalked you so i can do some bribery action and your hair now is GORGEOUS. i can only WISH my hair would look like that. mine is pin straight and thin with no volume:( and also, you have an adorable little bundle of joy. i was a full time live in nanny last year and it was the greatest experience. enjoy her while she's this young!!!
one last thing, please please please please please oh pretty please with sugar on top and a cherry and sprinkles and caramel and whipped cream please pick me?!? :) hehe, thanks for doing the giveaway/contest!
soo I didn't quite get it at first, but I think I understood now.. I hope I do everything right :D
I nominate /u/maddykj because she is a super awesome, talented lady who loves cats. She has never had one, but I really hope she will one day, because cats are the best.
She made me feel very welcome (as did all of you, really!! You guys ROCK!)
Here is my intro and here is hers
The item I nominate is this golden goodness because she likes sparkly polish and this one is super sparkly and she deserves some GOLDFINGER!
DON'T GO NEAR ILNP!!! Not if you want to build your collection up without spending a lot since their polishes are mainly $10 each...I may spend too much money on them because thy're gorgeous holos.
Howver if you want to get into gels for cheaps definitely get one of those Sally Hansen starter sets that comes with the lights they're around $20-30 depending on where you find them, This is a cheap one with the color "Wine Not?" so even fi you dislike the color you'll have base and top coat and the light to begin playing with it, they have others but as you can see the other colors are more expensive for no reason you get the same things only a different color. You may be able to find these in a place like Wal-Mart or Sally Beauty for cheaper.
As for acrylics never done them and never likes them so not any help there, but for tools here are some links to some good ones that are cheap. They may take a little ot ship but I will forego spending a ton for shipping in favor of having more to spend on stuff. Here's a cuticle set, I've got this and it works nice. And here is some dotting tools and little gems, there are definitely good review on these and I've ordered other supplies from this seller before. So if you want to branch out from one colors and do little splashes of designs these work.
You may also look into nail vinyls for doing patterns and such first then invest in some brushes for free hand designs later on since it gets easier then. For now get going on things and enjoy painting again, hope some of this rambling of suggestions helped!
Such a great idea, especially for those of us trying to build our collections. I don't own most of these, so I mention it if I do. Here are my favorites:
Thanks for hosting!
What's your favorite holiday? My fave holiday has to be Christmas!! Love the tree and lights and snow!!!
Who is your favorite holiday character? Christmas Snoopy from Peanuts! So cute :)
What is this food you look forward to having the most during the Christmas season? I am a sucker for all cookies during the holiday season! My favourites are almond shortbread
Show me a picture of an animal celebrating the holidays! So cute!
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007BLN17K/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=XIHRIBLPQR2Y&coliid=I3GVU1BQ59YOER&psc=1
I could definitely use some brushes to create some holiday nail art!
Uhm, obviously whatever colors you'd like. China Glaze colors are my fav, and they are generally pretty cheap. Get a nice base coat (so the polish doesn't stain you nails) and a shiny top coat (to help prevent chipping). Seche Vite is an awesome fast dry top coat you can try..... Ahhhh, I cant think of anything else right now, but Im sure you'll figure it out with time. Everyone here is GREAT at answering questions and helping and giving great mani ideas!!! :) Enjoy!! You'll become addicted!!!
The stamper that you got with your kit may be a little softer, but it is not a "squishy." The small pink ones never are. I'm not familiar with the Emori polishes, so I can't comment on that except to say that very few polishes stamp effectively.
I would try:
When all is said and done, there is a chance that you just have some bad plates. Unfortunately, like most things, stamping falls at least somewhat under the "you get what you pay for" and the set you have is like $4.50 for ten. The very cheapest plates I have (in that size) are at least $1/plate. They may be using inferior materials or etching equipment. There are quite a few 1 star reviews of that set on the Amazon listing, many of them mention shallow etching.
I like something like this for beginners. I have plates from this brand and know with certainty that they are good quality. In this case, the price is so low because this set was released in 2012 and the company is selling off old stock because they release plates 1-2 times per year. 26 plates for $12 is on-par with the set you ordered, but there's a very good chance this set will be much better.

Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was going to also recommend Dorothy who because I am wearing it and I love the hell out of it, but someone else beat me too it! Here is a picture of it on me anyway, because I am in a wonderful mood! Dorothy Who pay no mind to the messy paint job. That's just how I roll?
Instead I will Recommend Nubar Night Sparkle, mostly because I really really want it, and I should share it with the world! I am a squirrel, its sparkly, of course I love it!
Best Birthday- When I was 8 years old my parents took me to see Jurassic Park on my birthday. I was (and still am) a huge tomboy and I freaking loved dinosaurs. The movie scared me half to death and I would occasionally hide behind my dad and he would just laugh and laugh at me. Its the one birthday from when I was little that I really remember, and it was one of the last birhdays before my dad got sick.
My Worst Birthday- my 19th Birthday was complete rubbish. I spent the day entirely by myself in an empty college dorm. My mom had just moved 3 states away, and all of my friends were at a concert I couldn't afford to go to. I pretty much just sat on my bed watching sappy romance movies eating Ben and Jerry's.
Stamping does seem to be the thing lately. I have this stamper set from bundlemonster. The white one works okay for me, but I did order the Winstonia stamper the other day to try. I have mostly bundlemonster plates (the 2013 & 2014 CYO collections) and 3 MoYou which I've used with good results.
I keep this post from Copycat Claws bookmarked. She compares a bunch of drug store and stamping polishes by color so it's easy to see the differences. I've purchased several colors based on this post alone.
My current favorite for stamping is Cult Cosmetics. They are super opaque and I love the colors. DTLA, Melrose Place, and Paradise Cove see the most action. I've ordered a handful of MDU's but it will be April before I see them, most likely.
Okay so there's lots of places you can get things, but with some of amazon you might not get things in time so keep your eyes peeled, I'm linking random ones for you. It'd be easier to build your own basket instead of trying to find one. What I would suggest is:
-dotting tools like this
-brushes for art/cleanup like this
-clear stamper/scraper like this
-some stamping plates like this
-liquid latex (so her fingers don't get messy when doing different nail art styles) like this
-makeup sponges (those triangles, for gradients) like this
-striping tape like this
-good base coat (people really like nail envy by OPI and ORLY bonder) OPI ORLY
-good top coat (Seche vite is great) like this
I didn't pay much attention to the prices but a lot of those tools can be purchased fairly cheap, the most expensive things are the polishes and some stamping plates (some are very cheap and can be not so good, some are more expensive but are more likely to work well)
If you need more help let me know!
I think we NEED Essie Play Date. I mean come on, it is the perfect purple. It's in your wishlist too so you must agree :) Plus it's $5.95 with free shipping.
Though if you aren't in a purple mood, Sparkling Garbage is just $8 and also has free shipping. I've recently become convinced that everyone should have this polish so it's really also a polish we both need.
*edit because I forgot to tell you that you're a total rockstar! That was close haha
http://amzn.com/B006L1DNWY this is the set i got... it takes a while for shipping but its free so what the heck ya kno? LoL if you just search nail brush set you should find other options if you wanted better quality! These work great for me but im sure they wont last as long as other ones would but since theyre so cheap i wont mind having to replace them!
The stamper should work with any plate. I have the official Konad stamper and bought a few single Konad plates. Then I decided to give one of the bundle plate sets (this one specifically) a try and the plates have been comparible to the Konad ones for me.
The main thing is using polish that will work well with the stamper. I have one of the official Konad polishes, but bought a bunch of the Sally Hansen Insta-Dris that work great with it as well. I know there's a blog out there that has a huge list of polishes that stamp well.
You should definitely give it a try! It's so fun!
22 candles ! happy birthday hope it is a great one :)

this is a good guide to go by. Also use a nail brush, like this dipped in acetone to clean up around your fingers.
A really good base coat is Orly Bonder, it's highly recommended. As for top coats, a nice fast dry is seche. the key to this one is to apply while the polish is still tacky (slightly wet) and to wrap your tips, this kind of shows how. if your nails are short, heres a trick to help wrap the tips
Hello, again!
Be sure to check out this blog (NOT MINE) for more inspiration! There isn't a single mani on that blog that I don't want to try to recreate.
Your manis are lovely. I can't believe you did the mushrooms with a toothpick! Imagine what you could do with some brushes and dotting tools. This set from your WL is very nice, but I can't find a seller who will ship to you. If you can help me find a seller who will ship internationally, I'd love to hook you up with some tools!
Also, pictures of these cats and beach are a must.
it seems to rely more on the scraper you use more than anything else. i got this one, it has a lot of fun full nail designs, but then a few cute decals, but i would recommend the konad stamper/scraper set for the best results!
I REALLY want this pink holo Nubar. It would be my first nubar and holo. I think its really pretty and sparklie :3
Pleeeeeeeeease pick me. Pwease :3 Ill love you forever and ever and ever and bake you cookies and show you funny youtube videos and cute animal pictures and adorable kitty gifs and and ill give you a bug hug too... Pwease? :3
Thanks Santa for hosting this!
One lemming I really want to try is Poshe Fast Dry Top Coat to see how it compares with Seche Vite.
As for a color I'd really like to try a Nubar like Treasure or a BL but those are pretty expensive so I'm not going to link one.
Yay for having a contest!
RED Butter London Knees Up
ORANGE Orly Truly Tangerine
YELLOW China Glaze Lemon Fizz
GREEN: Zoya Ivanka
BLUE Cult Nails Time Traveler
PINK Orly Cupcake
WHITE OPI Alpine Snow
BLACK Zoya Raven
BROWN Essie Little Brown Dress
GOLD China Glaze I Herd That
SILVER: Zoya Trixie
GLITTER/FLAKIE Essie Shine of the Times
PURPLE: Orly Out of this World
My polish collection is pretty pathetic, so the only one of those I have is Zoya Ivanka. I absolutely love it, green is my favorite color so I couldn't resist. I stole the blue polish from dollindungarees' list, because I love TARDIS blue!
This is my personal recommendation. The white end needs a little prepping, but its wonderful! Its so squishy you can very easily stretch or shrink the image before you stamp, or use the marshmallowy of it to stretch as you're applying. Not my fav or making decals, but brilliant otherwise!
http://www.amazon.com/Winstonia-Double-Ended-Plastic-Scraper/dp/B00CJIOG0Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396986665&sr=8-1&keywords=winstonia+stamper
I would like some tools so that I could do lines & small details. I have dotting tools and they are awesome! [This one] (http://www.amazon.com/Brushes-Professional-Sable-Brush-Detailer/dp/B007BLN17K/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=QQEPMN5YQAW1&coliid=I2MHBFBWC134IE) seems like it would be a great start!
I'm also on a no-buy... but I broke it for Samoan Sand. Totally worth it! Good luck with yours :)
I don't have any striping tape or studs/charms/whatever these are (but I've been eyeing them forever!) And they're both only a $1!
Lemon Fizz is $4.88 with free shipping!
Thanks for the contest and happy birthday!
22 candles :)
I've been wanting striping tape but keep not getting around to buying it! YAY cheap tools!
I also found them on ebay with free shipping
Happy belated birthday!! I want a present. I would love this it's $2.35 plus free shipping and it isn't an add-on
Welcome to the group! If you're wanting to get started on some nail art designs, I would suggest ordering (or putting on your wishlist) some of the inexpensive tools like these or these. They take a while to ship, since they're both international orders, but they're really inexpensive. I have both sets and they're very nice :)
flashme please! LOL! I think Nubar Sparkles Collection: Night Sparkle is just beautiful!
This is very cool! ;)
My main lemming is actually OPI Nail Envy, but I'm saving up for it. :)
The elusive lemming I've been crushing on hard is essie Shine of the Times.
Enjoy your tax return! :)
Hi and welcome! I just want to say that striping tape can make some pretty fantastic manis and you don't need super coordination =)
I Just have these ones. For the super fine details I'll dip the smallest brush in a bit of polish and then pinch it to a fine point and then use it to paint. I also have to make sure the polish is pretty thin or it won't work well.
Yay!!! Boy could I use this! It's a $1.01!! :)

I'm using my phone app so I just cut and pasted! :)

Thanks so much for this giveaway!
Happy cakeday!
My husband's 30th Birthday cake, made by a friend
Sad attempt at a birthday Mani. My thumb is supposed to have a cake on it.
I'd like to get into stamping, though I'm not sure if this is the best stamper
If you can't find Seche Vite top coat and you arent able to order it online ( Amazon link), check if your local Rite aid or walgreens carries Essie "Good to go" top coat. It dries quickly and works well against chips, for the most part. Welcome to the sub!
yay cheap tools!
Some brushes would be nice! These are 98 cents with free shipping.
It's sort of pretty here I guess. Snow yay! I love snow.
I've been eyeballing this
for a while now.
I would love either. I love this [red] (http://www.amazon.com/OPI-Lacquer-Muppets-Collection-Gettin/dp/B0060A2QXI/ref=sr_1_11?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1376794942&sr=1-11&keywords=red+nail+polish)
Welcome! Sparkly, huh?
I have a few suggestions for you!
Edit: I noticed your address isn't linked in your wishlist, please include it. Thank you.
And here's a link to the stamper. I got it from the wonderful advice from /u/missus_b and its worked perfectly!
Orly Sparkling Garbage will cost $9.99 including shipping to Canada from Lovely Nails. I want it because holy crap it's beautiful and I have yet to try an Orly, which I think is a serious shame. Thank you so much for the contest! You're too sweet for spending your gift card on us. :D
I'M AWAKE! I VOLUNTEER!!
Good morning, darling. How are you this morning?
Drops are iffy at best. If you are looking for quick dry Seche Vite is king. Rock hard super shiny nails in 10 minutes or less.
Any combo of these would be fine ;) awesome contest!

We both have the same brush set, Yellow Nail Pen, and Blue nail pen. We have quite a few others in common now, but only because I saw them on your list. It's a great list!
This one is my favorite that I've used. I prefer an old credit/gift card instead of the scraper they provide. I buffed it lightly with a magic eraser when I first got it, and it has been great ever since!
Arg, no-buy! You have amazing strength.
I use address stickers at the moment, so...striping tape :D
I have this and have had good experiences with it. The striping brushes included are significantly thinner than brushes I've gotten in striping polishes, and I find them easier to work with (the striping polishes tend to give me really inconsistent lines). If you're looking for something more narrow, I would say buy a brush as opposed to a striping polish.
Edit: Then again, if they're only $1 it wouldn't hurt to try one out and see how you feel about it!
Hey, I actually had these on my wish list already! Yay cheap tools!
I am begging, no. Pleading. I really want this Ruby Slippers from China Glaze. One of my mom's favorite stories was Wizard of Oz. It's one of the few memories I have of her. That, and her reading me Alice in Wonderland. :) This is my mom. Her name was Mary. I'm the little boogerhead. THank you for this contest. :)
Seche Vite is on sale right now for 3.99 a bottle with free shipping :)
Here is a link to it.
Hello! Orly's Sparkling Garbage Is lovely, Rockstar :D
Ok lets see here.... this is one of the only things under $3 on my polish wishlist that has green in it. P.s. It would be my first striping tape!
Thanks for the contest!
Oh crap! I just blue myself! LoL
I think this one here is a pretty blue polish! Plus Wizard of Oz so yeah!!
I would love some ruby pumps!
Happy Birthday!! 22 candles 4.92
I've been using Orly Bonder base coat for months. MONTHS now. It's pretty fantastic and my manis last a while. Plus I've had no issues with staining.
For top coat I use Seche Vite. It honestly seems like most people like it but there's also a majority out there who prefer other coats. I tried going the cheap route for quick drying top coats and they all disappointed me. (Never have tried Out The Door though.)
Here is a view from yesterday when I gave our stray kitties some food. It's taken from the other side of my glass outside front door, so that counts, right? I would take a new one but it's dark here.
I've never had any nail tape before so these would be nice if I won.
These plus these make 3.60 even. Thanks for holding this contest!
some of my faves include:
China Glaze: Lorelei's Tiara
China Glaze: Ruby Pumps
OPI: I Have a Herring Problem
OPI: Blue My Mind
Essie: Stylenomics
Essie: Sugar Daddy
OPI: Hotter Than You Pink
thats what comes to mind at first. I'm also really into glitter toppers and stuff, Sinful Colors makes some awesome ones that are holiday themed (Halloween, Christmas etc) but amazon has slim pickings of those. if you have a Walgreen's or target near you, check there for those!
I have been wanting to try taping for awhile now. I have this on my wish list.
Gimme dat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat! I've been dying to try it, as everyone raves about it!
Yay cheap tools!!

I saw it used in a design the other day and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. THIS POLISH HAUNTS MY DREAMS.
I counted 34 in this picture.
(But lets be honest, the mini bottles shouldn't count as a whole bottle.)
Wishlist item!
I know it's a bit under $5 but the Essie topcoat I have really really sucks. I can re-pick if you need me to.
This is my second attempt at doing the stamping. I push down on the stamp when "picking it up onto the stamper" and rolling it onto my nail.
I used a white base both times. The stamp color is black one is by sally hansen the other is Emori brand. I am working as fast as i can. I have tried the metal scraper the first time and a giftcard the second after speaking with someone here in the group. I also tried the stamper that came with the plates and its soft and squishy but same results.
