Well I was going to suggest a sheet music stand but while I was browsing Amazon I realized that something like this guitar stand might be an ideal solution in combination with a sturdier support for the controller. Adjustable height, and the shape of the part at the top that holds the neck of the guitar could work very well for this purpose.

The old Gamecube demo kiosks had custom-made plastic pieces that attached to a plastic tube that held the controller in place, as you can see here. I don't think it will be easy to find one for sale, though. This person is selling something similar for an exorbitant price so that's not really an option. Maybe someone craftier than me would know how to fashion one at home.

I just use one of these: https://www.amazon.com/TECHING-Pebbles-Double-Side-Rechargeable-5200mAh/dp/B018VOT29Q/ref=sr_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=hand+warmer&psc=1&qid=1570472146&sr=8-7 could be a different brand though but they all have the exact same shape.

Lasts like 6 hours and I put it on max heat fairly often. Once I play Melee long enough in combination with it I leave it on low if it is super cold like it was at Big House, but otherwise once my hands are warm they stay warm.

The most common high quality capture card you can use would be the the Elgato Game Capture HD. You would want 2 component cables, at least 5 splitters, and a component connection to a Wii. There is free software called OBS that you can use to stream and record and there are a number of options if you are looking to just record (there is even software that Elgato offers) but most like to use VirtualDub. This of course can be very expensive. If you are looking for cheaper options there are cheaper capture cards available such as the Dazzle and the Diamond. Both work fine but you won't achieve as crisp as a picture. These are the cards that I have had experience with but I have also heard good things from the Avermedia.

Currently playing melee on a CRT or running Dolphin 5.0 on my 6-year old behemoth of a gaming laptop. I can't carry it around, and will be going on a trip bringing my lightweight laptop with me. Wondering if it can run Dolphin with these specs? Thanks.

PS It's an exchange program and there may/may not be a scene there so I want to be ready to body some fools. OFC I'll get out of my room and do shit, but it's nice being able to come back at night and relax with melee. Plups I want to get better and not come back home looking like a scrub.

Yes that would work. Female to 2x output is fine. You will see brightness loss. You will also have VERY little cord to work with (<12in). The capture card and crt will have to be within roughly 6 inches of each other. I'm happy to have 3ft for when the times I join a setup with a large tv that is against a wall. You can decide if these aren't big issues for you.

If you want more brightness, only option is powered splitter.

If you want more cord length, it seems like you must get these type of splitters (not needed to have this brand/store). And you must also get 2 3RCA male to 3RCA male cords (these come in larger sizes than the all in one splitter).

Just checked and it will fit in a standard shell, but you will have to dremel out one of the trigger cover screw posts and a good amount of the shell underneath. You also have to dremel down the switch itself a bit. and on both Hori's and GC's you will have to delete the vibration motor and dremel down the vibe motor mounting bracket. I'll make a full guide soon if I have enough interest.

The switches I use are "Blee" microswitches. They are pretty big and you can find smaller ones, but they have an incredible feeling click that smaller ones won't match.

Hi im looking to get into melee netplay seriously and im in the market for a new laptop. I would like some advise about the better deals right now and any recommended laptop models. my budget is around 700$ dunno if waiting on black friday deals would be a better choice. laptop would be used mainly for student work and netplay some minor gaming like emulators league of legends and maybe overwatch. current laptop im looking into https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-NVIDIA-Windows-E5-575G-75MD/dp/B01LD4MGR6/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=sl1&tag=laptopunderbudget-20&linkId=9dd31a181ae650453d4bfa1cdb0d2974 any recommendations or advise are welcomed thank you.

one of these or maybe these. I havent heard of anyone using the second one but it should work and its a fair bit cheaper. You would still have to plug stuff into random setups though but honestly who cares, people already do that when they want game audio through their headphones.

also you're right, 20xx TE wont work with the nebs 20xx build.

Pretty much any gaming monitor that's well reviewed should be fine, they will all have very low input lag compared to an LCD TV or something like that

However, this one is very well reviewed and it's sub-$200 so I'd go with that unless you're looking for something fancier for PC gaming.

Faster Melee cuts the input lag enough that any gaming monitor would be faster than console without running some buffer. (Faster Melee saves roughly 60ms of latency and a gaming monitor typically has 10-15ms of input delay, so you're still saving 45ms over console and would want to play at 6+ buffer to match console)
