Hey, just did some research. It does look like the most current blackberry with the same form factor. If you don't want an older device, I would recommend getting a cheap refurb S8, and slapping an official keyboard case on it. It looks like this: https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galaxy-Keyboard-Cover-Black/dp/B06XJCWP3G/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1541676623&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=galaxy+s8+keyboard+case&dpPl=1&dpID=31BG-txt7gL&ref=plSrch

If you're okay with a plastic protector, and if you're okay with a wet install, I can vouch for the Spigen Neo Flex. I put one on my wife's S8, along with a spigen case, and it's been pretty nice. Make sure you watch the video on the amazon page, and there's one unusual thing about the install - you'll want to put it on with your case already on. With the install process, you can move it around until you start squeegee-ing it down, so having the case on lets you get it positioned to avoid touching the case.

It looks fucky for the first day. After that it gets clear enough you can barely see it, but it does have the plastic screen protector feel to it.

If battery life is why you're looking to replace the phone, maybe look into replacing just the battery since the G4 has a removable back. On my G3 I used to run a 9000mAh battery similar to the one from the product linked below. Zerolemon is an excellent solution if you don't mind a bit of extra weight and size.

I agree, OTG is very under rated. Thanks for this! I use an OTG cable for my Samsung GS3 and My Nexus 7 2013. But I didn't know they had Micro USB Flash drives. Learn something new everyday.

I found this Kingston MicroUSB FlashDrive on amamzon. I'll probably purchase. It's only $13.95 for 32GB

> it's cheap

I think this is the part I take the most issue with. It's neither cheaper nor better than a "real" WAP/router/extender. The Raspberry Pi + SD card + case + power supply + ethernet cable + screen (+ ethernet switch if you need it) is going to be, what, $75? $75 can buy you a very nice, clean WAP.

If yours draws 1w at idle and the Ubiquiti draws about 3 watts, that's a savings of about $0.20/month...so that doesn't seem like a compelling difference either, especially because you are just trading power savings for lower transmission strength.

yeah good idea. doesn't need to be 1080p but wanted high-resolution. the fire is a good idea, and everything else specs-wise is aligned.
going to try this one as well:

it's BLU which is 'off-brand', but enough reviews say it works as a daily phone that I think it will work for our purposes (kiosk)

What kind of budget u have?

The best budget smartphone in the world right now is the Redmi note 3. For only $200 you get a FullHD display, gigantic 4000mAh battery and a 13MP camera. It runs android so it should suit all your needs.

Best $200 phone I’ve seen in a long time is the Nuu G3

This one should be good: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CB6SHKS/?tag=androidcentralb-20&ascsubtag=UUacUdUnU56819YYm

It wouldn't be the worst idea to get them a small, budget tablet instead of a phone.

It's been this price for most of the month. Amazon just recently jumped it for a week and dropped it again to make it look like a sale. They're just trying to get rid of stock.
