Sony H.ear On 2 + ModMic 5 with a Sound Blaster E1 amp/DAC.

I just finished this really sweet setup a few weeks ago and the quality/modularity of it is amazing for the price! (<260€ with some good price hunting)

The DAC is there mostly for the mic volume/quality, and it is amazing how good it sounds. In a good environment, it is pretty close to a $200+ pro microphone and is useful is waaaaaay more situations.

You mean something like the GPD Win 2? It's a tiny Windows 10 computer that's basically intended for gaming.

https://www.amazon.com/Handheld-Portable-Gameplayer-Notebook-Graphics/dp/B07CK7DRYS

It can even play stuff like Overwatch locally at 60 FPS. No streaming required. A novelty to be sure, but a really neat piece of tech, and would be perfect for Stadia. The major downside is the price. You can get a very powerful desktop for the same price as the GPD Win 2's base model. Hell, you can even buy a pretty decent laptop for that price. So you're really just paying for the portability and 'wow' factor.

I bought this one:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0756TJ6B2/

It's just slightly too small, but the case doesn't press on the shoulder buttons and it still fits pretty well. If you position it correctly, you can fit your Chromecast ultra+power block in the storage space. I was really hoping the claw would lay flat enough to fit in the storage area, so we'll see on that.

r/headphones

These are meant to be good.

There are better headphones for cheaper than Bose, but that thread will help you more than I can.

A bit unrelated but get a pair of these earbuds if you've got a spare $5. I love mine.

I'm really glad that you can play Stadia well!

I do however just want to point out that, I hope one day people will stop viewing negatively on powerline adapters, they're good! as long as you don't cheap out and buy a proper one, make sure it has MIMO technology or anything equivalent to that.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06XKKRDVR

This is the one I use and it only adds 2ms ping than if I were to use ethernet directly.

If you cheap out on the powerline adapter, then yeah, your experience will be bad and awful. Powerline adapters are the 2nd best method of home networking, right close to direct ethernet.

I saw some of this ones in amazon (marvel, spyro, fallout, halo, star wars...) I think they are same size. In your experience, does the stadia controller fit well? Is it safe? Seems like its gonna fall? Thinking into buy one...

>owning doesn't mean forever

Yes, it does.

>It means having the right to use something for as long as it works

No, it doesn't. That's not how ownership works. That's a concept known as "leasing." This is the same logic phone manufacturers tried to use to stop customers from fixing their own phones.

>try plugging your N64 on your HDTV see how amazing it is to own games forever.

I do have an N64 hooked up to my HDTV. Right next to my NES & SNES. You can get amazing looking results from old hardware on new TV sets. Here's literally the first result on Google.

>I wonder if "ownership" is a more important value in the United States than other parts of the world. It could explain a lot of things including why you can get shot on someone else property...

tf are you going on about? Now we're dealing with self-defense laws? Adios.

When they're on sale and you can also get a bunch of smart bulbs and outlet switches in the same sale, absolutely. Got a bunch of these and some smart bulbs and it's awesome. Plus I can't tell you how many times I say, "hey google, find my phone" in a week.

I have a previous model of this guy:

https://www.amazon.com/GL-iNET-GL-MT300N-V2-Repeater-300Mbps-Performance/dp/B073TSK26W

Work fine, pretty basic but it'll do the job.

There are quite a few more options nowadays and if you look at 'best travel routers' lists this one is always on there:

Or they could just do some sort of branded controller that can fit any phone. Here's an example https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Controller-Gamepad-Andriod-Bluetooth/dp/B07NTNB3G5

It would be much more practical

  • It an it can add some battery life
  • you won't need to carry around a second device
  • it's going to be affordable so you can buy a good phone + this instead of buying two different devices
  • it's much more easier to use this type of controller if you are an iOS user because you wont need to struggle getting used to an android-ish OS

    LE
Or they could make a controller that's made out of two parts that:
  • could combine to make one controller
  • could be taken apart to make two controllers (Nintendo switch style)
  • could be attached on the sides of any phone and make a PSVita kind of "device".
u/Camelboyorange · 2 pointsr/Stadia

That's good but at that speed all it takes is a bit of interference. The controller should be ok but it will be streaming screen such as a TV where you might get the issues. Something like this should do:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/NETGEAR-Ethernet-Unmanaged-Internet-Splitter/dp/B07PYSNSDD/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?keywords=unmanaged+switch&qid=1564253726&s=gateway&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1

I'm going to save someone some grief here and point out that the "specific adapter for 360 controllers to allow them to talk via USB" is the Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows. This will let you connect up to 4 wireless Xbox 360 controllers. It's only officially supported on Windows, but you can use it on Mac and Linux as well.

DO NOT BUY the poorly named Xbox 360 Play and Charge Kit. As much as it seems like it should work, it DOES NOT allow you to use wireless controllers over USB. The cable only sends power, no data.

I bought one of these to attach my phone to my Xbox One controller. When my Stadia controller arrived, I tried it on Stadia, and while slightly more snug than on the Xbone controller, I can confirm that it does fit and works like a charm. I bet this one is a lot cheaper than the claw that Google sells.

I love the comfort and performance of these Steel Series I have and they work on anything.
https://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-All-Platform-Headset-PlayStation-Nintendo/dp/B01LWYNW1D/ref=sr_1_39?keywords=arctis+7+wired&qid=1569587727&sr=8-39
Just plug them directly into the Stadia controller jack.

So since the Chromecast Ultra requires the power brick I've made a little change.

New power supply:

Portable AC Laptop Power Bank 40000mAh, External Backup Power Supply Travel Charger Compatible With MacBook Laptop Tablet and Smartphone [110V AC, PD 45W USB-C, 18W USB, Dual 3.1A USB, 15V/2.4A DC] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XHKVQ3V/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_hC12Db30XV9SR

And since the public WiFi I mostly encounter is behind a portal I ordered this:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N5RCZQH/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_BL12DbJR52T93

This is a fun experiment :)

I've got one of these coming in tomorrow:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VJZMS5P/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The price is a bit higher now than when I ordered it earlier in the week.

The HDMI probably won't work with my Pixel 3a but it'll allow me to power the device and use the controller w/ the included USB-C to USB-A cable.

I also have something similar but with extra USB-A ports and an Ethernet port.
