Guys, what's a good place to buy a hardware jig online?

Also to sanity check:

  1. I am about to buy a switch with serial number XAJ70011xxxxxx. It's hackable, right?
  2. I will buy this SD card for lasting pleasure: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074RNRM2B/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
  3. Do I need extra controller for local play with a friend? Or stock ones are good enough for duo play?
  4. Anything else I forgot to buy/do? usb-c to usb-a cable? card-reader to connect my sd card to my windows10 pc?

    Thanks!

Interesting, well your 256gb sandisk card is like the latest & greatest model sandisk makes I believe. So I guess what is happening here is the U1 card I tested against link probably has lower speeds \ write rate than your newer model Sandisk U1 card.

I guess it would also help if we knew specifically how long your rev2 install takes to know just how much faster each card may be. We pretty much just press install and then lose track of things until we notice install is complete. Like I really didn't expect that install to take 53 minutes, but sure enough an episode of Better Call Saul completed before it did haha.

Edit: Oh and I only used the Xecuter menu to install the .NSP files. I could try double check some of these tests with devmenu \ tinfoil to see if there's any difference there.

I can't take another photo yet but this is the case: https://www.amazon.co.uk/HORI-Switch-Game-Card-Case/dp/B01NASY99Z/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1537085939&sr=8-6&keywords=switch+game+case

But in all honesty, I wouldn't suggest buying it just for this reason. The only reason I used this was because I already had everything at hand unused and just decided to bodge it all up, it's rather large and clunky but gets the job done without having to spend any more cash haha.

did you use any tools to bend them?
i played around with some clips and wire and had quite the hard time to make even bends and not be off by a fraction of a millimeter. even the best one still doesn't hit both the pins reliably on its own, without taking a flashlight and checking multiple times.

its always seems like one side of the clip wanted off to the side of the pins when inserted and trying to correct that makes it skip a pin.

also kinda worried that it might, over time, scratch away at the contacts.

dunno, might eventually get something like this and solder

just to keep the contacts healthy

I personally use my PS4 controller on the Switch with the 8bitdo adapter and it works great wirelessly with rumble and motion as well. Also connects to PC. I haven’t tried it myself but the Xbox One controller should work too.

For any curious, there is also a Mayflash adapter which looks like it does basically the same as the 8bitdo one for around the same price.

A little late I'm sure, but I highly recommend this set -

https://www.amazon.com/Eclipse-SD-081G-Tri-Wing-Precision-Screwdriver/dp/B0089NNRL4/

They're almost as nice as my Wera screwdrivers and kinda match too.

I do recommend the official switch sd card holder sold in a kit like this one "https://www.amazon.com/NINTENDO-ORIGINAL-MULTI-GAME-not-machine-specific/dp/B0756YZ7G1/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1536169642&sr=8-13&keywords=RDS+Industries%2C+Inc" I own this case and It includes four micro sd card holder shaped like a cartridge that holds two micro sd card each. I am sure you can find them used individually if you have a case if not I would recommend the kit

The one I've seen mentioned the most is CRC.

You're going to have to go to r/NintendoSwitch or YouTube if you want more info because I haven't used it, but I did get a free official fix which I'll write about in this thread.

Pretty sure the official Nintendo licensed carrying case includes 2 game holders that also include a game sized micro SD case.

Op bailed out, but here are the sources:
Pokéball Analog Caps
Blue Joycons Shell Replacement
Zelda Screen Protector (included in a bundle)

Edit:
This is actually the screen protector. Found by u/hanleaf254
and the Joycon shells are the DPAD version, but I think the ones I found are better.

You don't even need a hacked switch I use this MAYFLASH MAGIC-NS Wireless... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079B5KHWQ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Wirelessly connect your PS4, PS3, Nintendo Switch Pro, Nintendo Switch Joy-Con, Wii U Pro, and Xbox One S Bluetooth Controllers to your Nintendo Switch, PS3 or PC system. The wired PS4, PS3, Nintendo Switch Pro, Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox 360 Controllers and fight sticks, and standard wired USB Controllers like Logitech rumble gamepad F510 and F310 can be connected to your Nintendo Switch, PS3 and PC system. it also supports NEOGEO mini. Plug and play.

Hmm I just bought this 15 feet cable:
https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00LBJ780O/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If I use a ground loop isolator, will it degrade the quality of my 3.5m aux cable?
Because I am looking at some ground loop isolators and I can't even seem to find one with a jack that is gold plated. (not sure how it matters for sound quality)

The Fospower seems to be good sound quality like if you use a ground loop isolator that doesn't use the same level of quality in the 3.5mm jack etc.. won't it make my entire fospower cable obsolete in a way?

Thanks for your reply btw!

This is the best I've been able to find, however I can't find it much cheaper.

So, I bought a used switch off of marketplace and it is a pre patched switch, so I’m tying to get it homebrewed. It is on firmware 6.2.0, so should I hack it at this firmware, or seeing as 7.0.1 is hacked, should I update first and then hack it at that firmware? [Also, is this a good enough jig to use?](XBERSTAR New Improved SX OS 3D Printed for NINTENDO SWITCH Crack RCM NS Shorter JIG kits https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FFVFQX5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_a5mDCbQP3245X) And is there anything else that I need to know before attempting to hack it? Thanks in advance guys.

u/reexe · 1 pointr/SwitchHacks

This would look much better with a 180 degree USB c "turn" like this https://www.amazon.com/Marval-P-U-Shaped-Transmitter-accessoies-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B07KRTVCKZ

It would hide the cable on the backside.

(In case the link does not work in the future, the name of this component is gulikit router + adapter)

u/dominicanjonas · 2 pointsr/SwitchHacks

I saw the reviews for this one on amazon and they were complaining about the transfer speed, just a heads up. I preferred to buy this and just a get usb stick with good reviews

u/DirteeCanuck · 1 pointr/SwitchHacks

The metal kickstand on amazon has a single SD holder in it.

u/KvshMacGuyver · 7 pointsr/SwitchHacks

If you have a PS4, Xbox or Bluetooth controller you’re better off getting this 8bitdo. Let’s you connect to the switch in docked and comes with an adapter for handheld. Not very good for handheld but is an option

u/reckless-man · 2 pointsr/SwitchHacks

Hmm..... What did you install the NSPs with? I feel like I've installed much much quicker than the 50+ minutes... Assuming this is a u1 (not even going to try and say it is 100% because SD cards confuse me) https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B074RNRM2B
