There are a lot of recipees available in French on internet (don't know for other language though). You can try to translate French sites page (like this one or this one). As for everything in the world of patisserie, you probably won't get it right the first time. Baking time depends on your oven.

Besides, you will absoluterly need a specific baking pan, such as this one. There are copper and silicone baking pans. Silicone is way easier to use and clean, although it's not as "noble" as copper.

This is from the books Incredible Cross Sections of Star Wars. Their books are very detailed and just plain awesome!

The AGC used a word size of 16 bits (15 data, 1 parity).

Per Frank O'Brein's explantion:

> An analysis of the required precision for navigation [to fly to and land on the moon] concluded that 28 bits, or 9 decimal digits should be sufficient^1. Creating these 28-bit values requires two 16-bit words, each providing 14 bits of the 18-bit quantity, plus one bit to define the sign (positive or negative) of the number and a second bit to specify parity.

There's a footnote on that passage which reads:

> 1. On a lunar mission, 9 bits of precision translates to distances on the order of 1 foot and velocities of a fraction of a foot/sec.

When you want the additional features on fancy power strips: Surge protection, built-in circuit breaker, ground indicator light, outlets that swivel or are turned sideways to allow room for large plugs and wall-wart transformers, USB outlets, and additional protected connections for phone, ethernet, cable TV, etc.

Yeah I would definitely keep one of those mini emergency oxygen tanks in my desk.

EDIT: Like this.

You're getting downvoted, but you are probably right. The batteries that were most commonly marketed as 18V were substantially heavier.

The difference is the battery tech: The 18V one would be NiCad, the 20V one is LiPo. LiPo's have much greater power density, so they use a smaller battery to get the same capacity. The also hold a charge considerably longer between uses and don't have the issues with memory.

You could also get a heavier battery by increasing capacity (more use between charges). That's probably not the case here since they would likely both be 20V if they were LiPos, but it's possible.

Edit: Err... LiIon, not LiPo.

This one goes a bit into the history of bushes in Europe, a fantastic read for everyone.

If you think this is cool or would like to learn more about the time period while being highly entertained...

Check out Aztec, by Gary Jennings. (Amazon)

Don't be put off by the high page count this thing is a page turner.

Funny enough, my dad just handed me my copy back during those teen years when fathers are pricks. After reading it I thought maybe he wac actually sorta cool for a prick.

That's the only book of his I have read.

You can look at basically anything by Gibson if you want the same general setting.

And of course Snow Crash and The Diamond Age are heavily inspired by KWC's culture but the locations are very different.

This one specifically

Don't understand why there is no digital version, I'd love it on my iPad

Absolutely! One of the pilots wrote a book on this trip. Well worth the read!

The font and illustrative style reminds me of The Way Things Work by David Macaulay, except there are no mammoths.

My favorite book as a kid, by the way.

Here's the link. They're discontinued IIRC, and not very good. The "clips" they use are a neat idea but it shoots a very small stream of water a very short distance.

I bought my 20v dewalt kit over the 18v because the batteries weigh half as much.

Edit: American dewalt 18v versus American dewalt 20v.

And here's a link to the actual hardcover book that originally featured this drawing among many others! Must-have for any Star Wars ship/technology enthusiast. <<<<Not kidding. I got it for Christmas when it was published in 1998, and now i'm almost 30 but still pull it off the shelf every month or three to flip through it in awe.
