I like cam straps because they're easier to work with than ratchet straps. I have Ancra straps that are fantastic. I'd definitely buy them again. I also prefer to use use Canyon Dancers to hold the bike still in my truck bed, but its rear wheel is nestled into the corner of the bed and acts as a chock, sort of.

I have a 5-gallon VP Racing fuel jug. It has served me well, but it's tough to mess that up. I imagine any decent jug with a hose will do.

My ramp is a generic folding metal one from Amazon. Says Raider on the side, but it's exactly like that one I linked. It takes some getting used to, but I use it to get my bikes into and out of my truck bed by myself. Even the one without a kickstand.

I use this a Joes racing gauge. Very good reviews in the car racing community, and its has never let me down. Good value, and I cant complain. I use it for my bikes and all the cars we own.

Ah, sorry. Yeah, the one that seems to work the best is the Feiyu WG. I'll try to find the video I'm thinking of that talks about it.

Edit: here is a video where the 3 axis Feiyu Tech WG failed. In a comment on one of his other videos, he talks about how the single axis one is better.

i basically did the same thing in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Axu_Ix-nPTY

Measurement tools used: 0.001mm Resolution Dial Indicator& Indicator Mount

this measurement process should work with semi-floating rotors only. fully floating race rotors would have too much movement to measure properly i think.

I will also make sure to clean the caliper pistons frequently so the pistons retract correctly and prevent over heating rotors. I've actually never cleaned them in the past.

I've been using this and the associated other pieces for under my leathers and also under my normal gear on long road trips where I don't expect to need to have the gear off until stopping. It kept me cool in the middle of Death Valley in July, pretty impressed with it. You can soak yourself in water and ride along with it and it wicks nicely.

I use these

RHINO USA Tie Down Straps (2 Pack) Stainless Steel Cambuckle Tiedown Set with Integrated Soft Loops - Lab Tested 3,328lb Break Strength - Better Than Ratchet Straps - Motorcycle Tie Down With Hooks https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M07K9YW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_oUVNAb7KX5T5S

I tend to avoid ratchet straps due to being afraid of doing too much and blowing my forks. With these you just push down enough and it's enough to hold the bike down.

These tie downs have a loop already and I loop them under each fork underneath the triple clamp and holds well

Have you considered using a trailer hitch mount? Of course it depends on bike weight but there are many for all sizes. Might change the handling of your truck more than you desire, but allows you to use the bedspace more efficiently.

We had this for both kids from before they could stand by themselves - they used it to push around, then eventually they could sit on it and start getting the concept of gliding. Sometime between 1 and 2 they were both on a strider (balance) bike, and our son was riding a pedal 2 wheel by the time he was 3.

Always recommend parents go this route, and to definitely skip training wheels when that time rolls around!

It feels much better when you put the helmet on and it is very cool. This is the one I have, it rotates up and I just place my helmet on it until the next session.

u/PotatosAreDelicious · 1 pointr/Trackdays

Just get some regular straps like this.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MY4VG66

Tighten first from kickstand side strap til its just tight then tighten the other side til you can put the kickstand away. Then tighten them both til the forks are a little compressed but not all the way down.

That trailer's more expensive then my truck. Lol

With warmers you'll probably be fine (i.e. no cold tire crashes), but considering the temperature and your pace, the SC2's probably won't give you any benefit over Q3s.

You could get one of those little laser temperature readers and test your tire temp right off the track. If you can't break 100 F, put the Q3's back on.

u/TalentedKeyhole · 2 pointsr/Trackdays

I check between every session, right before going out onto the track. It is the first part of my "get on the bike routine", followed immediately by putting my suit/boots back on (I usually take it off between sessions; can get in and out of it in less than 5 minutes) and then helmet/gloves, and then it's fuckin' go time baybeeee.

I use this digital tire gauge connected to a cheap pancake compressor from Home Depot. That gauge has both a fill and bleed function, so I just clip it on to the valve stem and mess with the pressure until it hits the right spot. It's kind of annoying because I don't have 90 degree valve stems (though I am switching them now that I got a pair, and it will be even easier). But for me the peace of mind of knowing that my tires are perfect helps me ride more confidently.

Elastic belt is best.

The front light was something like this.

You could also just buy a projector headlight, connect it to the OEM harness and mount it in the front of the fairing. They are fairly light so the fairing can usually support it without anything else.

Howard Leight by Honeywell Max Lite Low Pressure Disposable Foam Earplugs, 200-Pairs (LPF-1) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000RMFGGY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_6p23CbC7TS546

Absolutely love these for track and street, you can reuse them alot and are so cheap you don't mind losing them. I think I reused a pair for a month or two once. They hold up well and don't bother your ears.

When we go racing, we have a pretty sweet little Kobalt unit. linked right here

It's exactly what you're talking about, it does consistently read about 2-3psi high, so you still have to dial pressure in with a manual gauge.

Edit: Apparently that one is discontinued. Here's the new equivalent. Apparently it's only $50 at Lowes.
