So you're recommending this Kinect and this adapter? I'll see if GameStop has a Kinect for cheaper if so.

Nothing about the quest is "New". Windows Mixed Reality has had inside out tracking since launch. The Quest's hardware consists of a Mobile Processor from two years ago with an integrated GPU that only runs at 710Mhz, only 2.75 GB of memory that is actually available for software to use (Most PC's have at least 8GB of memory), OLED panels that only run at 72Hz (72 frames per second. Most PC VR headsets use 90Hz and some like the Valve Index can even go over that although, it uses LCD panels instead of OLED) .

The resolution actually doesn't seem to be too bad but, it's still better to have a lower resolution display with a higher refresh rate than a higher resolution display with a lower refresh rate because lower refresh rates are worse for the user's experience because it increases the likelihood of Motion Sickness

Also, $100 for 64GB extra storage is a joke. It would cost almost nothing to include a MicroSD card slot. You could also get a 1TB M.2 SSD for the same price as the 64GB of extra storage.

TLDR: For the most part, the Quest is a joke. Just get a Steam VR compatible headset instead.
