Give the book "Young Money" by Kevin Roose a read. It's a quick read, incredibly entertaining, but also pretty enlightening as to the culture of IB. As with anything, take it with a grain of salt, but it can give you an idea of what life may be like if you end up going IB. Personally, I left the book feeling incredibly relieved I took a Corporate Finance track. Consulting is the goal, though.

not a big in the know watch guy but the Timex Weekender Chronograph line is my favorite cheap option.

$85 off Timex but you can find them for $40 new on amazon

Orient has some good $100-200 range stuff too

slighty over but I like this as more specific example

on the subject anyone know a place to nice watch bands? I usually see them as like $150 or $10 with little in between.

Get one of these Toddy Cold Brew things. Starbucks brews their cold brew in a larger one of these and it is awesome at home. Makes a cold brew concentrate, so you cut it with water when you are wanting a glass of it, so you can adjust how strong you want it. It is worth every penny and makes it a simple process. I let it brew anywhere from 16-24 hours and it is always great. Can buy cheaper beans for it too, which is nice.

Try something stupid like Sunset Overdrive. It's absurdly cheap and it's the kind of game you can just throw in and mess around with for a while. I picked it up a couple weeks back and haven't played it yet but Insomniac is pretty good and my friend said he enjoyed it.

Super basic Audio technica. I gradually built the system over time, but started with this stereo (used) and these speakers. Later I added some small surround speakers (system doubles as my tv speakers, too) as well as this sub. Granted I don't have a super trained ear, but all together it does sound awesome.

My recommendation is to not go cheap on the stereo side of things. Definitely don't get a record player with speakers built in. If it sounds shitty, you'll never end up using it. If you do want to start cheap with the record player, have it sound decent, but not have to get all the bells and whistles, Audio Technica sells this bundle that has the turntable and two speakers. If you start with that, eventually you can add the stereo receiver, better speakers, sub, etc.

Barbarian Days: A Surfing Life, by William Finnegan.

Loved this book, I'm an avid surfer so I might be a little biased, but it's a great beach read. Finnegan won the Pulitzer in 2016 for it.

Yeah nevermind, the Nighthawk was what I installed at my parents' for them. I have an Asus router as well, this guy. The single-router solution was also important for my parents, as they have a bunch of Sonos speakers set up and it needed to be on the same network for consistency's sake.

I assume yours is a dual band (pushes out a 5G and a 2.4G signal) router? If you don't already, I'd make sure that the devices further into the back of the house are on the 2.4G signal, since the waves of that band are not as wide and therefore travel better at longer distances/through surfaces better than a 5G signal. Another solution would be to buy yourself a long CAT-6 ethernet cable on Amazon and run it along a wall or something so that you can set your router up in a more centralized location in the house. It doesn't have to simply be right next to your modem. Even moving the router into an area with a few more direct lines of sight would do wonders.

A mesh network will ultimately be the more ideal set up, but it'll mean you'll unfortunately have to configure an entirely new wireless network, which will be a pain. I am pretty sure you should be able to buy a similar Asus router and create a mesh network with your existing router, but I guarantee it will be an annoyance to set up compared to a fresh mesh network designed for such a setup.

Could start by just containing them to a certain room at a certain area. We transitioned pretty early from a crate to one of these and then eventually just let our dog roam free and it all worked.

If you’re ever running out for like just an hour you could leave her and see how it works out. Build up confidence to leave her out for longer periods of time

Any interest in film and Kubrick? Just read Space Odyssey - Making of a Masterpiece by Michael Benson. Fascinating read if you're a bit of cinephile like myself.

I really enjoyed the Kenny Stabler book that came out by Mike Freeman this year. Stabler was an absolute legend. Think Johnny Manziel in college, but it continued onto the pros where he was a HoF QB.

Also, any Jeff Pearlman book is a great read. He's an amazing writer. My personal favorite was about the '86 Mets. Bunch of lunatics
