Not sure if you've played then, but haven't: Kerbal Space Program is the best way to get an intuitive understanding of orbital mechanics. If you like to play God you should also try the Universe Sandbox, and if you want a really really hardcore space sim you should play (or wait, it's still in alpha) for Rogue System.

As for actual books, OpenStax recently published their free astronomy book, and it's quite good for an introduction. From there, it depends entirely on what you're interested in, there's literally a universe's worth of information about
Astrophysics,
Astrochemistry,
Astrobiology,
Astrometry and
Orbital mechanics (for the aspiring galactic navigator),
Cosmology,
Planetary geology and
Cosmochemistry (careful, these last two lead to geology and meteorology which are equally disastrously addictive fields!)

Also, feel free to follow NASA's, ESA's, and JAXA's blogs. And spend a minute each morning checking the astronomy picture of the day.

Just don't end up llike me and annoy all your friends.

I play on a two year old laptop that handles Legion on mid settings very well. I even use a second monitor with it. It gets hot, but that's not a huge issue with a fan nearby.

Legion has been very fun, btw. I've played since vanilla and would recommend this expansion.

Also, on the note of desktop vs laptop: The desktop can seem like a higher start up cost with a monitor, speakers, keyboard, and tower, but the others are right about the upgradeability. I've had the same tower on my desktop for about 12 years now and upgrade inside components whenever I catch something on sale. But, the portability of the laptop is really nice and once it's not up to par for gaming in a couple years, you should still have good resale value for college students.

If it's just basic things like that "hello, good day, i'll have 1kg of tomatoes please!" then there are books like this one that are fun. I live on the flemish side and they have Huis van het Nederlands offices around that get you connected with the right course for a very small fee. Those classes did more for me than any of the books I bought did. I'd pick up one of those books and sign up for http://www.taalmix.be/ , I find having fun with the language helps me learn quicker. You'll definitely find Belgians on there who want to improve their French and are willing to teach Dutch in return :)

Here’s yesterday’s Op Ed from Mazloum Abdi, Commander-In-Chief of SDF

> e provided services through local governing authorities for Arabs, Kurds, and Syriac Christians. We called on a pluralistic Syrian national identity that is inclusive for all. This is our vision for Syria’s political future: decentralized federalism, with religious freedom and respect for mutual differences.

>The forces that I command are now dedicated to protecting one-third of Syria against an invasion by Turkey and its jihadi mercenaries. The area of Syria we defend has been a safe refuge for people who survived genocides and ethnic cleansings committed by Turkey against the Kurds, Syriacs, Assyrians, and Armenians during the last two centuries.

And if you’d like to read a more in depth version, I suggest buying Wladimir Van Wilgenburg’s book about Northern Syria, where he explains it all in detail

> People often say car drivers should cycle a bit more so they know what it feels like to be a cyclist on the road, but in this case I wish that cyclists knew what it feels like as a car driver.

This. Your average Leuven cyclist doesn't seem to understand the importance of being visible to others while riding in the dark. Even in cities some streets are extremely poorly lit and you don't see cyclists until they're either right in front of you or you turn on your high-beams. Simply wearing a reflective belt can be a lifesaver (cue USAF jokes here).

Cyclists, get yourselves one of these for your backpack. It could save your life.

> I know that every piece a lot of legislation they pushed through was in the interest of the diamant sector not in the public interest. So why?

Got me there, better?

Let's be clear, the diamond sector is a mafia organisation that deals in blood money.

Do you need more sources, read this: https://www.amazon.com/Mazzel-Ritual-Culture-Customs-Diamond/dp/0387959599

If all the streets in a city are wet it has rained. You either accept that or you go running around that the sky has been clear all day and that it's your neighbours fault. Have fun with that.

I can recommend this book. It is a bit too focused on the traditional Christian nuclear family for my tastes, but other than that a lot of information in there is a great help. I don't know if just a book will be enough for you both, but I don't think it can make things worse. Good luck.

> Serious question here and I really don't mean any offense. Are you authistic?

i never got tested so i can't say for sure, but i do not think so.

> I'm asking because you seem to be unable to relate to other human being

Why do you think this? It is true that i see no gains in empathy but i truly feel compassion for people, i align for the most part with the view of Paul Bloom on this.

> abstract concept of ideology

can you tell me what you mean with this?

It's what I did, now checking what music is best to test headphones. And thanks for the HD 598 CS xD. And don't worry homie, I got it covered.

You may also want to have a look at some countries like Finland, Estonia or Sweden where they have been successfully paying without cash for longer than Belgium has.

This book (http://www.amazon.com/End-Money-Counterfeiters-Preachers-Dreamers---ebook/dp/B00BAH8HNO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1416843899&sr=8-2&keywords=the+end+of+money) also nicely highlights why cash is so bad and why digital money transfers are beneficial.

Around the world in 80 days via amazon, free.

A classic which is even nice to read now, aged well.

Purge of babylon also on [amazon]
(https://www.amazon.com/Purge-Babylon-Novel-Survival-Book-ebook/dp/B00H9OT6K0), a few bucks.

A pageturner series. The only time I'm "happy" my train is late, is when I'm reading this, more time to read :)

What's even more impressive is that they were completely rebuilt after they were bombed to the ground after WWI, the botom of the belfry still consists of the original stones from the medieval times. Great, you won't regret it. I live here myself, I go to The Last Post at least a few times a year and it gives me chills everytime.
About the bikes, you sure can, i found this on the city site. There are also several shops in the city centre who offer bikes for rent.

I'm not sure about those power outlets but I think most of the mainland of Europe uses this one. This is a cheap all-in-one adapter might be useful if you travel a lot.

Sorry, but that's a bit ridiculous. Conceptions of beauty and their place and relation with respect to the arts are topics that have been discussed at least since Plato. Hume, Kant and Hegel all wrote on the subject.

The entire conceptualisation of art has undergone drastic changes this last century and naturally discussion and naturally discussion by artists themselves and philosophers of art has followed (Adorno is the most prominent example of last century I can think off).

Which brings us to the current day discussion on the topic by philosphers such as

Just bought myself a fancy edition of a neat comic book. Buying a first volume implicitly holds the promise of buying the - in this case four - subsequent volumes as well, making this a rather costly affair. Looks like rice is back on the menu, boys!

u/Craemere · 5 pointsr/belgium

Our power outlets look like this so I guess you'll have to buy one like this. Have fun!
