You're welcome.

If you're interested in self-defense, your first step is to pick up The Gift of Fear. Seriously. It might save your life.

Boxing-wise, JT has a ton of excellent, high quality instruction on his channel.

Marcello Garcia, one of the best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructors in the world, teaches out of NYC.

For a more comprehensive approach to self-defense, I'd suggest looking into Japanese jiu jitsu.

Stay warm, and crush your lifts, sistah

Your body weight is fluctuating by 20 lbs? There's a pretty big difference in those numbers and how they look on your frame. Read the sidebar... Lookup Starting Strength, Strong Lifts 5x5, a 5/3/1 or something. Learn what your TDEE is to maintain your weight, then increase calories to gain weight and decrease calories to cut weight. It's not rocket science.

EDIT: Read 35 Eggs a day.... https://www.amazon.com/35-Eggs-Day-Basic-Fitness/dp/1520211341

[I got these.] (https://www.amazon.com/Meal-Prep-Containers-Count-Black/dp/B00SWXL61E/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=Isobag+meal+prep+containers&qid=1558536088&s=gateway&sr=8-3) I have their bag so I initially got an assortment and have really liked them. They've lasted several years, I just needed more. The plastic can handle the dishwasher, microwave, and the lids stay on nicely and don't leak. My personal favorite is the 28 oz size one. Seems to be the perfect size.

I'll warn you too. I was looking at these too and my coworker has them. Said his have melted in the dishwasher and the lid doesn't stay on all that tight.

I've been using these ones for a long time now and I absolutely love them, great for working out and the magnet is always nice to have.

Got a baKblades Big Mouth Do-It-Yourself Back Hair Shaver from Amazon as an experiment. Surprisingly, it actually works! Super easy, painless, and only takes a minute. Don't even need shaving cream. The only question is how long do the blades last until I need to replace them.

u/thephilski · 6 pointsr/bodybuilding

For that I have a possible solution. I bought these and they are perfect for that issue. Comfortable as it gets for us monster-thigh folk.

I lightly exfoliate my face in the shower with soap every morning and use hyaluronic acid + face lotion (I forgot what brand I use for face lotion but this brand called hope in a jar is really good too.)

Then two times a week, I use a cheap mud mask and charcoal exfoliating scrub (just something that’s on sale atm) then finish with this mask - GlamGlow Gravitymud Firming Treatment Mask (1.7 oz.) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071K9FV1N/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_.go.zbARSAR9V

Hey guys! So I decided to upgrade my cheap Amazon lighting kit to something with diffusers and more bulbs. I'm 6'4" ~241lbs. Diet-wise I conditioned myself to under ~50 grams of carbs a day for 2 weeks with 3 gallons of water a day (ouch). Then 24 hours prior I carb loaded and basically dehydrated myself to pull out any hydration under the skin. Thanks for all the advice and photo tips from my last shoot! It really helped showing off my strengths. I've attached a couple more photos that my girl took, plus a photo that displays my height. Any more tips for next time would be appreciated!

>so I just went with the cheapest

Looks like you went with a relatively small container. Make sure you're getting a good price per gram. It's often significantly cheaper to take a bigger chunk of change up front and just spend it on a big tub. I use this one in a larger size, if it helps.

I have had a pair of these in daily use for over a year and I love them. I have backup pairs in case. They are stiff and actually keep my wrist in place. Also super quick to put on and take off because of the Velcro loop. I despise the elastic fabric wraps, they do nothing for me.

Anyone use a powerball? I've been using it on off since my wrestling days and honestly I don't know if it really does anything lol.

u/Thundernut · 8 pointsr/bodybuilding

Do yourself a favor and pick up some Fat Gripz. Slap them on a easy bar and heavy reverse curls superset with forward forearm curls. You will see a difference in thickness and definition in a few weeks.

Adidas Adipower Powerlift 2 is on Amazon for like $90. Mine should be here tomorrow, but I hear good things.

https://www.amazon.com/LifeStyles-SKYN-Original-Condoms-24ct/dp/B004TTXA7I best condoms youll ever buy. Had the same issue, then used these with my girlfriend before she got on the pill, and the difference was massive.

That because your smartphone lens is wide angle. Smartphone pics will always make you look small, because they are 8mm up to 35mm lens, wide angle lens distort the pictures to look thinner. That's why insta thots are always looking good on their picture taken with iphones.

Stating that your eyes resemble a 50mm lens, a camera with 50mm or 100mm would make you look appear bigger. That's why you often see bodybuilders like christian guzman using a pro camera. If you don't have a telephoto lens and a DSLR you can buy a telephoto lens for your smartphone here https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07V95DTP4/ref=dp_cr_wdg_tit_rfb . It will be awkward at first because you have to stand further from the camera and selfies won't be full body unless you have a big mirror and a fair distance.

What I am saying in words you can digest it graphically here: https://preview.redd.it/vbnlit7ttlk01.gif?format=mp4&s=e7a483456dfa9525539d7433cdc4f2ee12828e63

edit: it's lens not lense

It wasn't a typo. Here they are on Amazon if you want to look at the nutrition facts. I got really lucky to find these, since the pizza supplies just happened to be directly across the aisle from the tortillas that I was about to buy.

u/Clefinch · 1 pointr/bodybuilding

These are great. Got them on a one-day sale for $25. I wouldn't want an over-ear pair for the gym. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IUP89LS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Fat Gripz are effective too, albeit overpriced for two pieces of rubber.

u/involver · 1 pointr/bodybuilding

I went with these ones cause you can fit more food in than the ones with 3 compartments

u/Regalzack · 1 pointr/bodybuilding

Just finished that one last week. Getting ready to start "Brother Iron, Sister Steel" by Dave Draper.

u/bendrucker · 1 pointr/bodybuilding

I've dealt with pain in my elbows, forearms, and wrists for a while. They seem to all be linked. I've found that three things really help:

  1. Grip work
  2. Soft tissue treatment for forearm pain
  3. Wrist wraps for exercises that don't involve bicep supination but can strain wrists. I've also used elbow wraps at times. Wraps increase blood flow and can even aid in recovery after training.
u/sirinah · 2 pointsr/bodybuilding

if it's just a couple, it doesn't matter. Otherwise buy a backshaver, like this https://www.amazon.com/baKblades-Mouth-Yourself-Back-Shaver/dp/B00BPBLMCS

u/MrSnare · 24 pointsr/bodybuilding

I thought not. It's not a story the Daily Discussion Thread would tell you. It's a r/bb legend. Darth Goobueis was a Dark Lord of the Gym, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the macronutrients to create muscle mass… He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from going catabolic. The dark side of the Gym is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatty. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his mod-status, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentices everything he knew, then his apprentices slipped him some cardio in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from going catabolic, but not himself.

One of the guys on here has a bodybuilding book about eating 35 eggs a day. I bought it. https://www.amazon.com/35-Eggs-Day-Basic-Fitness/dp/1520211341
