It's a good version of the RX570 at a decent price. You can get it a little cheaper (£122) here, but some people have had dodgy dealings with Laptops Direct.

There's another option here for a Gigabyte card with 8GB memory for the same price (£130) but comes with 8GB VRAM instead of 4. It should be a better performing card in VRAM hungry games.

The Sapphire card you posted (your link doesn't work, but I assume you mean this one) is definitely a good quality card. The Gigabyte one is a bit less so (some people hate Gigabyte cards).

Realistically it's about value. You want the best value for your money. It may help to know your budget, what games you want to play and at what settings as well as what the other components of your system are/will be to make a firm recommendation.

If you can find another £30, you can get some 8GB RX580's like this one. On the other hand, if you just want to play Hearthstone, League of Legends and Minecraft, you may be able to save money buy not getting a graphics card and going with an AMD APU like the 3400G.

Nope, you defo were not, it was all him... I know very little about PC stuff too but I cant deal with people like that guy no matter how much they know. I love 1050/1050tis, think they are great cards and would totally recommend one for your set up, had one for a while in my living room 1080 rig. I have 12gb of ram that I think may fit... think its this stuff... https://www.amazon.com/Hynix-PC3-12800-1600MHz-Unbuffered-HMT351U6CFR8C-PB/dp/B00A8M768E Send me your address and I'll send it off to ya for free, if it works paypal me a beer.

Hope you're not in hospital for anything too serious!

Just to be sure we are talking about the same sticks, here are the good value sticks that are out of stock but at a great price. I risked buying them to see what happens, I'm hoping they will restock in the next 3 weeks max.

And here is the RAM I bought that is in stock. BIG price difference, and I know these are the better RAM but I will definitely be returning them if the others come though.

Thanks for the detailed reply, that's very helpful. Will save comment for future. At the moment performance is acceptable, but eventually I'll want to push the card to its limit to maintain 60fps at 4K. Whether the jump from 1800MHz to 2000MHz is worth it, not sure. Maybe if there was a really cheap way...

With the VRMs/other components, I'm wondering if their cooling is dependent on the heatsinks getting airflow from the fans of if it's passive. Just curious if somehow you could attach an AIO watercooling block to the GPU without any fans. Noticed with the Kraken hybrid system they do have a fan on one side of the board:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkytxqm62Sw

Unfortunately bit too expensive, would need this:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/NZXT-RL-KRG12-W1-PC-Fan-White/dp/B06XXW1P96/

And also an AIO cooler, and all the heatsinks/thermal tape to cool the rest of the board. About £100 minimum. The Morpheus seems like the best option - the Accelero looks very dated and those fans aren't replaceable like the Morpheus DIY approach.

I need to install 4+ 3.5" drives in the case. I can't do that in either the Define C or the Define S. Yes the S and C are cheaper, but if you can't install a 5.25" drive and have the need for one they aren't suitable.

Other retailers currently:
£93 eBuyer (non-windowed)
£90 Amazon (non windowed again)
£100 for other models on Scan without the window (it's £110 for this one now)

Historical price doesn't mean that much to me given current pricing trends and the value of the £ vs Euro/Dollar, just look at how the pricing of GPUs has changed since the masses started buying them to mine crypto and how our cards are now close enough to £1=$1 for buying power.

Another example is that pricing has gone through the roof for DDR4, a 32gb set was £130 back in June last year and would now cost over £300. Finding a set for £250 I would say is a deal given current market prices

It's better value if you qualify for free delivery (obviously)

Yeah you can get Corsair SP120 single colour LED for as low as £8.19 on amazon

But each of these fans are RGB and you have a controller to change all the colours too! According to camelcamelcamel the lowest price Corsair SP120 RGB was £12.99 (+5.28 P&P). The lowest price on Amazon camelcamelcamel says £16.99 (I haven't put links for camelcamelcamel because they always contain referrals and I always make mistakes removing the links)

You also get a fan hub for up to 6 fans and an LED controller for those fans! The led controller can be plugged into certain cases or a fan controller if you want. I bet you get a fan hub and led controller for £5 each (maybe £10 for a good brand?) But its nice having everything in one package and they all work together!

If you look at this review fastforward 3min to see how the hub and led controller work
Corsair SP120 & HD120 RGB Fan Review

You can get a generic fan controller all the way from china as low as about £5.00 but its gonna cost you a lot more to get a fan controller that also controls the colours of the LEDs

>offer bold lighting with vivid lighting effects. Intuitive 3-button controller Allows you to cycle through lighting effects, effect speeds, and colors.

Depends if you prefer ambidextrous (RVU) or ergonomic mouse design (G502).

Also depends on your hand size and how you grip a mouse. The g502 is a design for larger hands @ 132cm length and 75cm width with a height of 40cm. Compared to Razer Viper Ultimate dimensions of 126cm length, 66cm width and 37.8cm height. The razer will suit medium to medium/large hands better.

The g502 lightspeed weighs 114 grams with no weights which can feel a little heavy in the hand. The viper ultimate weighs 75 grams and you will notice this weight difference.

Also if you are considering these mice, you may wish to also consider the logitech g pro wireless. The GPW is an ambi design like the Razer and is a very high quality mouse. GPW is also on offer on amazon.de for €89.90 without delivery cost.

https://gearsearch.gg/ is great for comparing different mice features and has all dimensions listed too

I started off just plugging the cable into the headphone jack on my PC and it worked. But I got a fair bit of hiss and electronic interference so I got a DAC. An SMSL m3. Connect that to my pc via USB and just the headphones into that. Cleans everything up and sounds great.

The X2's are great headphones, really comfy and some really good low end. So I can imagine dance music sounding great on them.

u/Catolid · 44 pointsr/buildapcsalesuk

Not sure about this being much of a deal.

Motherboard
CPU
RAM

Total is £490; the RAM price was over £200 on amazon so maybe the prices were just elevated a good while ago or they're moving old stock, either way it's been sub £100 all round the web for months now which is where I assume the bulk of the "30% off" comes from. Convenient amazon price history link here

I guess it comes pre-assembled and thus presumably ready to work without flashing the bios for a £30 premium.

3 year warranty is nice too I guess.

I didn't shop around at all though so you can probably find better deals than just double checking the component costs vs amazon.

Hope I didn't miss anything very obvious.

Do yourself a favour and get either of these instead:

https://smile.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-Wireless-Gaming-optical-sensor/dp/B0746NVS2Z/

https://smile.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-Wireless-Lightweight-Programmable-compatible/dp/B07CGPZ3ZQ/

Lightspeed, Hero sensor and great battery life. Pretty much the same specs at half the price.

u/domdomegg · 1 pointr/buildapcsalesuk

I went with the Z97 motherboard you suggested in the same line of thought and it's great if you're thinking of getting one. Generally I really like Gigabyte and MSI products, seem high quality to me with decent prices. Asus's warranty is a bit flakey, but I suppose if buying through Amazon you're fine.

Edit:
Sorry I kinda didn't really answer your question, I think it's also about particular features that people prefer and are willing to sacrifice the chipset for. Eg. more USB 3.0 ports, better OCing, hardware control

u/spoonifier · 3 pointsr/buildapcsalesuk

The 8TB one is going for £120. These are very easy to shuck and have white-label WD Reds inside (WDC WD80EZAZ-11TDBA0). They do have the 3.3V issue though so you may need to tape one of the pins.

u/HAThating101 · 2 pointsr/buildapcsalesuk

Here is a single 8 GB stick of the ram you linked for £39.97. It's not in stock until April 17 and it's only available to Prime Members but it's a far better price than the the set you linked.

u/Diabolacal · 2 pointsr/buildapcsalesuk

I ordered a pair of these last Thursday for an upcoming build, in stock date said the 15th, they arrived on Saturday.

They're on MSI's AVL and from looking at the Amazon comments I'm hoping to run them at 2666 and maybe CL15

Prettty much the same price on amazon as well, coz it poop 500/350MBps

u/platdujour · 2 pointsr/buildapcsalesuk

It's still available at £19.99 directly from Amazon if you click the new buying options link

The original product link may have changed because this price is now showing as being "Back-ordered. Due in stock April 2 -- order now to reserve yours"

I bought the Logitech G402 for 19.99 GBP. (25 including shipping to Spain). It's a nice deal. An user said it costed him around 16 (shipping to UK ofc).

u/scorcher117 · 4 pointsr/buildapcsalesuk

Is £69 a good price for a 500GB SSD? this is one part that I've never looked into.

Yeah I just searched 500GB SSD on amazon and found another for £63 and a 480GB SSD for £55, this price doesn't seem special, is there something I'm missing?

u/peachkovit · 2 pointsr/buildapcsalesuk

8TB MyBooks are on sale for 113 GBP:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/WD-Book-Desktop-Hard-Drive/dp/B01LWVT81X/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=mybook&qid=1575003717&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&sr=8-1

I just bought one of these this week, removed it from the enclosure and got a nice 8 TB HGST Helium drive.

Note that if you do go down this road, there's no way to tell what drive YOU would get and there is a chance it wouldn't work with your PSU out of the box, but that's a simple fix.

u/WaftingBearFart · 16 pointsr/buildapcsalesuk

At the time of posting, this Sandisk 480GB SSD is only £50.99...

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01F9G46Q8

...which isn't much more for a well known brand. Only downside is you can't make a swear word from the name, with or without a tipp-ex.

u/whyalwaysme2012 · 2 pointsr/buildapcsalesuk

Other (and some would say better) logitech mice are on sale too. E.g. The wireless G305 and G306.
