I've got two builds for you. MicroATX cube and portable MiniITX. Both "Flashy"

MicroATX Cube. Room to expand to dual R9 290s.

So this new build I came up with is towards the top of your budget. But this shit is extremely beautiful. 2080 Ti, Full RGB, OC'able, all complete with 2.5 TB of SSD storage.

CPU: https://www.newegg.com/amd-ryzen-7-3700x/p/N82E16819113567?Item=N82E16819113567

The Ryzen 7 3700X is an extremity of value and power. This processor can easily shred gaming tasks and can even handle heavy workstation. 8 Cores and 12 Threads give you a lot of space for multi-tasking, streaming, and editing.

GPU: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07LDLQFDY/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

How about a liquid-cooled GPU? The Gigabyte AORUS 2080 Ti Xtreme Water Force is a really beautiful and high-performing 2080 Ti. It is cooled by an included 240mm liquid AIO and will yield superb thermals compared to cheap base models. The 2080 Ti Xtreme will also add more RGB to your build.

RAM: https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-CMW32GX4M2C3200C16-Vengeance-PC4-25600-Desktop/dp/B07GTG2T7L/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=ddr4+3600+32gb&qid=1568075251&s=gateway&sr=8-2

Keeping the Corsair-based RGB theme. The Vengeance RGB is a very popular series of RAM, and it's hard to not see why. As Ryzen now supports native 3200MHz RAM clocks, there is no reason not to buy RAM faster than 3000MHz. This kit is also a 32GB Kit, which will be more than enough for gaming as well as excelling in any memory heavy tasks (Chrome...).

SSD(1): https://www.newegg.com/hp-ex950-512gb/p/N82E16820326205?Item=N82E16820326205

The EX950 is one of the fastest SSDs out there, at a very reasonable price. The EX950 will function as your primary boot drive.

SSD(2): https://www.newegg.com/intel-660p-series-2tb/p/N82E16820167461?Description=660p&cm_re=660p-_-20-167-461-_-Product

Why not go with pure SSD storage since you got a mighty budget? The 660p provides 2TB of fast storage at a decent price, definitely worth considering.

Motherboard: https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813144261?Item=N82E16813144261

The MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge motherboard is a great motherboard, with hundreds of positive reviews. It will allow for easy overclocking. It also features on board wifi, so no wifi card bullshit.

Power Supply: https://www.newegg.com/evga-supernova-750-g5-220-g5-0750-x1-750w/p/N82E16817438162?Item=N82E16817438162

As usual, it is EVGA stealing my recommendation as the PSU choice. The SuperNOVA 750 G5 is a very high quality PSU with Japanese capacitors as well as a ten year warranty. 750 is enough to power the system, even with the RTX 2080 Ti and the Ryzen 7 3700X at Overclocked or Boost speeds.

CPU Cooler: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JWB5BSN/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

The H100i will provide great thermals, even under OC temps. The H100i Platinum also features full RGB fans, which will sync with your motherboard, RAM, GPU, Case, and LL120s.

Fan: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075VDGSJ8/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

Nothing to explain here, just an extra fan to fill the 680X with all RGB fans.

Case: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MFR1VDN/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?smid=A1XBPHGHAXLHDG&psc=1

This case will certain look and work will with your build. The 680X has enough space to build in as well as above-average ventilation. The 680X also has three LL120 fans included, which will sync with your other components, read the reviews on Amazon.

Monitor (Suggestion): You need a decent monitor to take full advantage of the hardware, try a 144hz 2K monitor.

With some pretty easy overclocking, messing around with XMP settings in BIOS and voltage, you can very easily push the CPU to 3.8 Ghz, People claim to push it to 4.0 Ghz though say it seemed to be a little unstable.

If you haven't cleaned out your PSU, you should. If it's younger than 5 years it's definitely still good. 100$ saved.

Windows can be obtained for free, only disadvantage is a small Windows 10 watermark on the lower right corner, and some of the OS customization settings are locked. It doesn't bother me, and it certainly doesn't convince me to spend 100$ for customization.

M.2 nvme SSDs are many times faster than a SATA SSD, for a boot drive you won't see a huge difference in boot time, but file transfer and such it definitely shines.

The extra fan is for an exhaust for the back of the case. You'll need a fan hub Here: https://www.amazon.com/SilverStone-System-Cables-Black-CPF04/dp/B00VNW556I/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1521908068&sr=1-3&keywords=fan+hub Forgot about it :/

Ive built with this case before, and it comes with a nice SSD mounting array behind the motherboard, a kinda annoying but spacious PSU basement and great air flow. tempered glass oooo

Buy zip ties. like 50. Zip ties are your friend and so is your fully modular PSU

If you want help with your CPU overclocking, you can pm me, or look up a guide on overclockers forum. Really helpful people over there.

I made it all Amazon, because of prime, which is can save you a lot of shipping. With the cheaper vendors, its cheaper for the part, but the shipping would put you over budget.

I took a check, and would say not to buy in Sweden - in Ireland it is the same due to high costs and not having a very big market, you will not get good value for money. However I checked in Germany and it seemed... ok-ish. But I made a dummy address in Stockholm on my Amazon UK account and came up with this for €580

(NOTE: pay in GBP, not EUR or SWK as Amazon inflate the exchange rate by a good 5c or so if you do). Delivery is only €10, so you're doing pretty great there (and the weak pound has been awesome for buying stuff on Amazon lately)!

u/akshaun · 1 pointr/buildmeapc

OK here's my current status. Thanks very much to everyone that is helping me with this :) Currently the whole thing is from Amazon and is sitting at $1,142.57 before shipping.

This is a really nice chain of upgrades for your pc. The CPU is optional but with the link included you can get it at a decent price lightly used and its oveclockable. The 1070 will definitely improve your gaming performance though. Good luck!

Comes out to about $405. To be honest I’d recommend a new build completely. That case doesn’t have very good airflow, and I’m guessing HP has a pretty cheap motherboard in it too. But obviously you’re just trying to upgrade on a budget so this should be good. You could opt out of getting the CPU if you wanted to save some money if you wanted.

/r/hardwareswap might be your best bet for a graphics card. 1060 3GB's are around $200.

And if you need OS key and a USB drive to do OS installs, here are my favorite resources for those:

Kingston DT SE9

/r/microsofsoftwareswap - Windows 8.1 standard keys are going for about $20 and it's the easiest to install by the link in their sidebar. You can go straight to the Windows 10 upgrade without patching Windows 8.1 simply by opening Internet Explorer on first boot. The Windows 8.1 default home page asks you if you'd like to upgrade.

Understandable. Right now AMD has a much better line of cpus in terms of price to performance. Which is why he asked. I would go with a Ryzen platform over Intel atm. You'll save a lot of money, and you'll get much more for it at the mid range and high end skus. You can't go wrong with a ryzen 5 2600 or 3600. Some good boards to look at would be the Asrock B450m Pro4, the MSI B450 Tamahawk, or the Gigabyte B450 Aorus. Any of those are good choices and have plenty of features you'd probably want.

u/RedStonedPanda · 2 pointsr/buildmeapc

Amd Ryzens are pretty nice at the moment and cheap. Ryzen 1600 is a good choice. I recommend a SSD disk and a second one HDD so you have a faster system and also an storage disk. Graphic card will be the hardest. Maybe a cheap 1050 2 gb will do.

The total is around 700. You may need to add some more things put this is enough for full functionallity. Also, I wouldnt buy the parts on amazon, but this way you can search them in a good electronics shop from your country which adds the assembly. Standards can be changed easily, that depends on what you preffer.

u/hschen · 2 pointsr/buildmeapc

something like this would work okay. https://www.amazon.com/SilverStone-Technology-Sleeved-Splitter-CPF01/dp/B00B46XKKQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1473528343&sr=8-1&keywords=fan+splitter. Though you wont fit all of your fans, unless you get two and also plug the CPU fan this way. but it will make the other fan a slave to the CPU.

even if the splitter is 4 pins and the fans are 3 pins, you can still put the fans into it, as the fourth pin is only used for PWM, and isn't required, just make sure you put it in correctly. There are also fan splitters that split into three, but i read they aren't recommended. You could also get a fan hub which allows for more fans, but i think you need to power it by molex.

No, don't get that pc, its trash. If you want prebuilt and on a budget, this PC will work for sure:

I see other people listed components, just remember you still need to add Windows + claiming MIR, but if you don't want to build a PC, then Skytech should fit your need. If you have $50 more, this one is slightly better spec:

There's a subreddit /r/suggestmeapc for this. But anyways my sister was in the same boat because she was too afraid to learn how to build a PC for fear of breaking a part, and also because she lives across the country so I can't do it for her.

She ended up getting this PC

CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Xtreme VR GXiVR8020A2 Desktop Gaming PC (Intel i5-7400 3.0GHz, AMD RX 480 4GB, 8GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB 7200RPM SATA III HDD, 802.11AC WIF https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NBL8BER/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_nJ2yKmDdjDpAK

Pretty good for the price if I do say so myself. I visited her and checked it out and it was a pretty nice PC, only thing you'd really have to do is switch the power supply out because Cyberpower PC is known for some ass PSUs. Comes with an alright mouse and keyboard too.

CPU Cooler - Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO $30.

Motherboard - MSI Z370-A PRO $100.

Total Price: $904. Throw in Windows for an additional $90-$100. It's really hard to get a decent PC to be under $1,000 nowadays with the price of RAM and GPU's :( I think this build will suit you best though. It's definitely not bad,

I know the CPU is kinda weak but still. If I went any higher it would probably need a BIOS update but I don't have any other CPUs. So should I buy these? No higher price tag. If you want recommend me other pieces at the same price, that are better. All will be purchased from Amazon.de

The CPU. Get the Ryzen 5 3600 it's not only about the same price but it outperforms the Ryzen 7 2700x by a fair gap

Okay I had a look at the ryzen and I see your point it looks good, but what mother board would i then have to get if I'm getting https://www.amazon.co.uk/AMD-Ryzen-1600-Desktop-CPU/dp/B06XNRQHG4/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1495128113&sr=8-3&keywords=ryzen+5+1600 ?

You can either go for high refresh rate monitors like; https://www.amazon.com/AOC-G2460PF-24-Inch-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B01BV1XBEI

Or a high resolution monitor like 1440p; https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JB6HCIC/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&th=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=highgroundgaming-20&linkId=9e6a91bf09bad93b34411f14bc906b85

The performance for 4k monitors are sub par compared to the gtx 1080, but its still doable.

Its all up to you though. I prefer high refresh rate, its a mind blowing experience. Just do a little research.

My brother has this pre built pc:
CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Xtreme VR GXiVR8020A2 Desktop Gaming PC (Intel i5-7400 3.0GHz, AMD RX 480 4GB, 8GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB 7200RPM SATA III HDD, 802.11AC WIFI USB Adapter, Win 10 Home), Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NBL8BER/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_qVd9ybCCV4JDC

It can run VR. Not saying buy this but you can use it to compare

Just use a fan hub.

Also that only happens if you go over 1A per header or(2A assuming its a typical water pump header)

would this be compatible with my monitor? Freesync 144hz AOC. I think it is since the CPU is AMD but i just wanna double check.

Computer's acting up. A team of scientists cant' solve the issue, and it's about a 5-6 year-old build. I've replaced several parts, can't fix it. I want to build a new machine that doesn't reboot 20 times a day of it's own accord, even from BIOS.

The answer to your question is right within my post. "I've had a LOT of issues with my current computer the past few months and thought I should have an upgrade path planned out if I can't get things in working order again."

How does the https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Processor-Wraith-Cooler-YD1600BBAEBOX/dp/B06XNRQHG4

compare to my i5-2500k?
