I have a Thule Aspect backpack.

I flew with it, and it fit in my carry on. Had a Mavic Air (but will fit a Pro 2) with batteries and controller. It had 2 internal sleeves, that fit my 15 inch laptop (with a bit more room) and a tablet. Had a DSLR body, 55-250 lens, and a wide lens. Video game controller, and other odds and ends for my trip with room to spare.

When you fly with a lithium battery, like what we use from drones it has to be carry on. Other rules depend on your particular airline. Air Canada wants tape over the contacts, or other means to ensure they touch eachother and short out. Only reason I can see for not wanting the battery in the drone is so it doesn't turn on accidently. If you're packed so tightly that you need to put a battery in the drone, then out some tape over the contacts, and you should be fine.

They specifically say it has a maximum transmission range of 1200m per FCC guidelines.

You will not get anywhere close to that in the city with the interference, especially because it is WiFi based instead of using their Lightbridge transmission technology like the P3A/P3P/P4, et cetera.

I recommend you pick up a set of Skyreat Parabolic Range Antennas from Amazon.

They cost $19.99 and extend range by quite a lot (several Amazon reviewers say that the antennas gave them more than a 1000m range boost). They will work for your Phantom 3 4K because it uses the same controller as the P3A and P3P, which those Skyreat antennas were designed for.

The problem with the Phantom 3 4K is really that it uses a WiFi downlink as opposed to Lightbridge like the P3A/P3P.

For the same price, I'd highly recommend the P3A if 4K isn't that important for you. Or, for $200 more, you get Lightbridge on the Phantom 3 Professional and can use the same batteries that you had used for your P34K.

Hope this was helpful.

I bought a Mavic 2 Pro about 2 months ago and most recently took it to Scotland in this https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00ND21KS8?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_pd_title. I took it as carry on along with my camera, it’s very comfortable and keeps everything secure.

I bought the Fly More Kit which I recommend since you get two more batteries and the car charging cord for the batteries. In Scotland I would fly the drone and then drive while recharging the battery. I never swapped between more than two batteries at a time. I purchased two additional batteries with gift cards for a total of five batteries.

Polar pro is the best but honestly it’s really hard to tell the difference between them and fstop labs. Like extremely hard. Also, most people include nd4-16 together as a set of 6 which are all very useless. 16 and 32 are going to be your most used. Unfortunately to get a 32 you need to get it with a 64 which is entirely too much from what I’ve found on a Mavic air.

That being said, I say go with this 3 pack because I’ve used them before on other models, they get great ratings on all their products AND they made a set with the most useful filters only. Everyone else is like cable and you have to buy a bunch of crap to get what you want and it’s almost always part of two sets.

I know there’s not many reviews, but just look at the companies other offerings that more people have purchased.

I often just run with a set of ND filters. I hardly use anything other than ND 16 on sunny days. ND 8 seldom on cloudy days. And in extreme sunshine, ND 32 but I also use that seldom. Better to underexpose your shot than overexpose with a wonky shutter speed. You can recover more detail in post that way and makes color grading easier. I don't use any color filters or polarizing ones either. I can achieve most of that in post anyway.

I pretty much leave this attached 90% of the time I fly.

It's a bit unstable mounting a gimbal to the shoulder strap. the weight of the battery makes the whole setup bounce unless very securely strapped like in this video. A better way would be to mount it like this using the chest strap, then strapping the bottom part to your belly to stabilize better. You could possibly use a quick release ring instead of a screw, like the karma grip ring accessory. I was trying something similar with a gopro karma grip to this shoulder strap.

Mavic air fly more is $1080 on amazon. It’s still over $1k. Price does play a roll for a lot of people and that’s double of the mini. If it’s just a waiting game. The mini could be discounted as well. Amazon is known for discounting on Black Friday. Since the mavic air is 2 years old the end of life should be soon. Might as well tell people buy the spark. More comparable. The mavic air is double the price for a reason.

I've been using a 128 GB one and it's been great. No issues at all and it always has space. I need to remember to dump content often though. If all of you footage is on one card and something happens to it, you're out of luck. Hope that helps!

Hmm, thanks. The MicroUSB is a bit of a pain for Android users as more devices are shifting to USB-C. It looks like the RC cable uses a very slim connector to fit. This is the best I can find.

Check the measurements of the spark. I bet you could fit it in the medium sized square pocket at the bottom of the pack.

Also, as someone in my imgur comments pointed out, this bag is a clone of https://www.amazon.com/Maxpedition-432-Kodiak-Gearslinger/dp/B002XLHCFK

I think the kodiak version is slightly bigger, and probably 100% better in terms of comfort.

I currently use this.

Camera insert that sits inside a bag. Fits the Mavic, controller and two batteries. Compartments are reconfigurable too. It won't fit the charger, but you can definitely squeeze in more small stuff like spare props, cards, etc.

PolarPro Gimbal Guard is great. Easy snap-on, snap-off.

I ordered a short 8 inch cable with right angle lightning connecter and a OTG adapter for a nice tidy setup. You could easily find a micro USB or USB c right angle if your not using a iPhone.

Works great with the phone in airplane mode so there is no radio interface at all with the controller.

I'm using this cable

And this OTG adapter

If you decide to use Resolve, the company put out a $6 guide which might interest you. It gives a basic walk-through of all the features: https://www.amazon.com/Definitive-DaVinci-Resolve-Blackmagic-Learning-ebook/dp/B07GJ8T512

I use the term "basic" loosly. The book is over 500 pages, but their audio specific guide is 600 pages, so in comparison it seems basic haha.

u/DrinkinMcGee · 3 pointsr/dji

No, it isn't, and here's why:

This is $6, weighs less than a gram, has no moving parts to break and is smaller than a stick of gum. Much like the HDD shown, it too requires a laptop or desktop to be useful. This is handy.

This is $179, which is more than the DJI unit, but it has a built in card reader AND a battery so you can use it in the field AND wifi so you don't even need to dig out a cable when you get home. That is handy.

If you want a 2tb external drive, here ya go - It's $70 (almost half off the DJI price), save yourself some time and just write DJI on with a sharpie.

Hi, I am a bit concern now. My GF purchased this from amazon. Amazon being the third party, would you say this is an exception? The seller does say DJI Official
