Thanks!!

This was the first time I have REALLY tried to push for the holy grail of 1/50 shutter and 24p film. I only shot this at 1080p because I left my 64GB card home XD. I would probably shoot it in 4K if I had the chance again (alas, vacation is over).

In order to meet that shutter speed I did use ND filters. I grabbed these off of Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NAU4X1V/

I actually swapped filters twice as the sun came up. Started with the Polarizer, then ND8 then ND16 as it got brighter. The filters really did a LOT to improve the footage -- I was impressed.

Didn't want the leather DJI bag. Wanted to be able to pack the Mavic, controller, and extra battery in a carry-on backpack. Found this one on Amazon, not crazy about the green, but there are other colors for a few more dollars.

It has an acceptable amount of padding with a bit more on the bottom. I has two Velcro dividers that I used to be sure there is no pressure on the control sticks, as well as more padding on the gimbal side. I put the charger and cables in a Ziplock to keep all the cords tamed. There is room for more padding or more accessories. It has a little handle on the top. Zippers are good enough. For $10, I'm happy.

For indoor photos, you'd do better with a traditional camera I'd think. The camera has to be kept small and light, so I can't imagine it's going to out do much. Even a phone? IDK

There are mounts that let you hand hold the Mavic to use indoors, but they are designed for video. They take advantage of the gimbal to stabilize the camera and get you smooth video. Still shots are probably best with a standard camera /tripod.

The best would be an iPadMini4 with 4g. But you can cheap out and get the wifi one if you don't mind using your phone as a hotspot.

get this cable. You have to bust it out of the shell, but it's perfect.

np :)

I found this Cannon camera bag does the trick like it was made for the Mavic. Quad, remote, cables, 3 batteries, and charger all good to go. There's a pouch on the back that was made for a waist belt, I cut that off and it fits the battery charger perfectly. Light weight, discrete, comfortable and well protected.

Here's a link if you're looking for one.

My solution, which I've only really tried once (and it was a success), is to use a camelBak backpack filled with hot water, as well as to use an insulated carrying case for the Mavic. The carrying case has the added benefit of not needing to take the propellers off so it's very fast to take off and put away.

Case: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003ZZW91A/

CamelBak: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ID29OVI/

Edit: I warmed the water to about 160 degrees Fahrenheit (CamelBak says not to put boiling water in) and was outside for about an hour in 20 degree Fahrenheit weather before flying. The Mavic stayed warm and I didn't get any warnings. I doubt it would have stayed warm if out for more than a few hours. A better solution might be to just take the battery off and put it in my pocket.

I use this headset with Litchi and it works great. It's nice because you can focus it unlike a lot of other ones. Litchi also has some ability to move the camera based on head movements. I really enjoy it.

DJI Mavic Pro Gimbal Ribbon Cable

Gimbal Cable Reassembly Close Up

Good luck ! Remember pre folding the cable makes the whole thing way easier ! Order two cables if you don’t feel confident just Incase. Always recalibrate all the sensor on the machine before flying.

I bought this one after seeing several positive reviews on MavicPilots. Not as solid as a pelican, but I love it. Pre-molded foam, not pluck.

Friend of mine was doing this so I copied. it works extremely well.

Case Holds Mavic + Battery, 3 more batteries and my old note4 I use to fly with.

For quick grab and go, I grab that and the controller separate with the stick guards in a backpack or something.

For everything I have this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005VTIMEQ/

Above case fits perfect inside it with the controller in the main pocket with lots of extra room. Top pocket has adv charger and phantom 4 charger plus props, etc. All in one bag essentially.

Its small and works well

For you that might be best. I have a credit card sized sd card holder that I love, maybe it will help.you.

If you have Amazon Prime I'd highly recommend a Moto G4. You can buy them for $150 and I got mine specifically for the Mavic. It works beautifully, has a massive screen (same size as an iPhone 7+), extremely bright, and battery life lasts longer than all three of my Mavic batteries on full days of flying.

So after I saw that post I ordered one and it's pretty awesome. It'll hold a Mavic, controller, and 3 (total) batteries. The main appeal for me was that it can be attached to a backpack and perfectly matches my CamelBak, as can be seen in picture #3.

If you want something to throw into a bag, I'd recommend a foam hardshell case. I can vouch for this one, which I use to throw the Mavic and controller into a shoulder bag.

Yeah, I carry this everywhere, nice and small, good protection, comfortable, and I can fit a bunch of stuff in it. My previous camera bag was basically useless.

Don't fly indoors :)
I had more than a hundred flights with my Mavic already and the only one time I crashed it was indoors.

But if you really have to, use tripod mode, go slow. Better safe than sorry.

One more option to consider is to buy a propeller cage/guards if you have time for that.

There are two options from DJI and also some 3rd party options as well.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y477YM1/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I use this bracket and its great and cheap.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J46XO9U/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I also use these Apple cords and never had an issue! they come with wire ties to I only take out one loop of wire and keep it tied up nicely so it doesn't hang out all over.

I got a HolyStone HS170 Predator to practice on before receiving my Mavic Pro. A fun and tough little drone that definitely helped my piloting skills and helped my confidence before my first Mavic flight.

I haven't bought it yet but I'm looking at this

From a similar post on here I previously bought this one which is meant for a VR headset but fits just the Mavic, controller, 2 sets of spare props and a SD card adapter.
