So, it's set up kind of like the typical murder mystery party you would buy from a game store. You write a scenario (Dinner party, train ride, mafia, whatever theme you like) if you can find an old board game version like this( https://www.amazon.com/How-Host-Murder-Chicago-Caper/dp/1878875000 ), it's pretty easy to adapt it to be played ingame.

We set up the FC house or one of our personal houses as the crimescene. Once everyone's signed up ad confirmed that they can/will make it for the specified date, we write characters for them. We give them a general idea of the type of character they are (sleazy merchant, haughty noble, hooker with a heart of gold, whatever) beforehand so that they can put together a costume for the night. We assign the character to the player and give them some basic information about the character's defining traits with some introductory text they can adapt and use to introduce themselves to everyone. On the night of the party, each character is given some information on why they are here, their relationship to the deceased, their relationship to a couple of the other guests, a secret they don't want anyone to know, and an alibi. There are conditions for revealing some of the information (they can't reveal their alibi until they've been accused) The murderer knows they are the murderer. EDIT: All guests must tell the truth, but this doesn't mean they can't be sneaky about how they word things. The murderer is allowed to lie.
So once everyone is together, the host finds the body and announces what has happened and that the house will be locked down until the murderer is caught. The players are then free to engage with other guests, ask each other questions, investigate the house (Officer "NPCs" usually reveal information about the crime scene that isn't delivered by other players. So, like, the Chef might be an NPC who, when players inspect the kitchen, might mention that a certain knife is missing from his rack) After a set amount of time once the players have mingled and interacted with each other, they are gathered in the dining room and the host asks the players to present their theories on who committed the crime. Players are invited to present their theories, the accused are allowed to defend themselves, etc. The party decides on who do convict and that person is led out. And the game ends with the host revealing who the actual murderer is. We usually award prizes (crafted glamour gear, gil, pets, orchestrion rolls, occasionally mogstation items, etc.) for a number of different things (Correctly catching the murderer. Successfully evading being captured as the murderer. Best glam. Best job playing their character. Funniest line. Any number of things to try and spread some fun prizes around)

We've done these about 4 times now and we've run them in different ways. A couple times, we adapted an existing party game to FFXIV, the other times one of the officers wrote the scenario out themselves. We did the first couple in text only and we did the last two in discord over voice. Each option had its benefits. The text version was a lot less chaotic, but the one over voice chat was incredibly fun because everyone was laughing and trying to voice-act their characters.

EDIT: I should add that for any kind of events you plan, you should expect erratic participation levels. Sometimes our events were super popular and tonnes of people showed up. Other times, it was a smaller group. We've found that being encouraging (especially with new or shy members) without making players feel like they "have" to attend these things or like anyone will think less of them if they don't want to come (Some people just want to do their dungeons or craft or whatever and that's 100% a-ok) has worked out the best.
**Edit - I missed the key dates in that PS3 to PS4 FAQ - it ended in April of 2015. Still, you can get ARR for PS4 digitially from Amazon for 19.99 and get HW physical copy from Amazon for 17.18, so total cost for ARR and HW on PS4 is 37.17 right now. It's a little more than just buying HW for PC but not much. It's a matter of how much playing on PS4 is worth to you vs playing on PC.
All platforms play on the same servers. I too bought PS3 and PC when it first came out but I upgraded my PS3 account to PS4 when the PS4 came out.
It looks like this is still a free option. Instructions for how to upgrade your PS3 account to a PS4 account are here. You can also get a copy of Heavensward for the PS4 for $17.18 from Amazon right now if you don't mind waiting a few days for physical delivery.Personally, I love playing from my PS4 and find it more convenient than PC in some regards (but less so in others). I would recommend investing in a wieless usb keyboard for your PS4 if you don't already have one, makes chatting a lot easier.
If you decide to use both platforms, be aware that the biggest drawback is that character specific data such as keybindings and gear sets are saved locally so if you update your gear on one platform then access your character from a different platform, that updated gear set will not have been saved and you'll have to manually equip the updated gear if you change classes.
Note that if you want the pre-order bonus sleeves, that you'll have to import. CDJapan and Amazon.co.jp both deliver to USA pretty much the day after release. Usually cheaper and faster delivery than the NA Square Enix store. Amazon.co.jp link to ShB OST
All the Shadowbringers OST Bonus Sleeves
Yodobashi Bonus Sleeve Front-Back
JP Square Enix Store Bonus Sleeve Front-Back
JP Sony Music Shop Bonus Sleeve front-back
At this moment in time I can't find the backsides for the Amazon.co.jp bonus sleeve (it has the WoL SAM and flags artwork) or the backside to the TOWER Records order (Large Viera print).Comparing to Journeys Bonus Sleeves, the CDJapan preorder was same as the JP Square Enix Store Bonus sleeve.
Actually, just go to OP's post here for better pictures https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/cn61nl/shadowbringers_ost_out_on_september_11_preorder/ew746h6/
I'll answer the ones I feel like I can give you a decent answer to
I love using bluetooth headsets with my phone to chat, allows me to keep talking if I go smoke or something.
Mine's a bit pricey, but I use Turtle Beach PX4's.
Great sound, good mic (one of the flexible ones so I can move it away from my mouth if I'm eating or something), controls are on the headset, so I can change volume and mute the mic without having to grab my phone, and setup on my phone (Note 3) was super easy. Just make sure whatever app you're using supports bluetooth. Teamspeak's app natively does, but mumble doesn't have an official app, so I had to poke around and find one. Ended up going with Plumble (it's on the playstore), only cost a buck and some change.
No, but I have good news! Right now the PS3 version of the game is on sale for super cheap.
http://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Realm-Reborn-Playstation/dp/B002BRZ79E/
And as an added bonus, if you buy a PS3 copy you can UPGRADE to PS4 for free until April 1st.
So, save yourself money and get that PS3 copy and upgrade it to PS4 right away. If you want to you could also buy a second one to still have access on PS3.
BECAUSE THIS IS FUCK YOU FRIDAY I HAVE TO PREFACE THIS WITH RAGE; I AM BEFUDDLED BY, BUT ADMIRE ANYONE'S ABILITY TO PLAY AN MMO WITH A CONTROLLER. IT FEELS LIKE TRYING TO THREAD A NEEDLE WITH A 500 DPS DRG'S NOODLY E-PEEN TO ME.
I USED DS4WINDOWS FOR ACTIONY STUFF BEFORE AND IT WAS JUST FINE. IT EVEN CAN USE BLUETOOTH IF YOUR PC HAS THE CAPABILITY. ANOTHER WAY IS FOUND VIA THIS ARTICLE USING INPUT MAPPER. A THIRD WAY IS TO BUY THE OFFICIAL PS4 BLUETOOTH DONGLE
I HOPE ONE OF THOSE WORKS!
I use my SP2 and it's actually gone pretty well for me. A few notes:
The thing you'll want to consider when using an SP is that you need cooling. It's not designed for sustained high-graphics work. But honestly, the device overall is the best computer I could have ever asked for. I love it.
TLDR: Skip the SSD, go with SSHD instead - link to drive included in post below.
As another poster has already said - an SSHD is going to be your better option with the PS4.
I did a fair bit of research about 9 months after the PS4 launched before upgrading. In most cases the performance of an SSHD is greater than that of a full SSD. In the cases that it's not, the differences are minimal. I've been running an SSHD for 2 year and it definitely makes a significant difference... Plus, it's cheap to get a 1TB, so you end up with a space upgrade at the same time.
The PS4 base system does not take full advantage of the speed an SSD can provide due to the SATA bus used in the base model. This does not appear to be the case with the PS4 Pro, which will see a fairly significant increase in speed from an SSD.
In my testing on FFXIV, the SSHD reduces the initial load time of the game by approximately 4-6 seconds as long as FFXIV was the last game i played. If something else was loaded since playing FFXIV then the load time is slowed for the first load as the drive moves data to the SSD portion.
Zoning times are reduced by about 1-5-2 seconds when loading into a dungeon (regardless of what other games have been played - the data appears to be fully cached on initial load of the game). Even though i'm on a standard PS4, i regularly load in to a dungeon while 1 or 2 people are still zoning.
For reference, this is the drive that i have currently:
https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Gaming-2-5-Inch-Internal-ST1000LM014/dp/B00B99JUBQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1483206432&sr=1-1
There is a newer model available now (which is cheaper than the current price for my drive as well): https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Firecuda-2-5-Inch-Internal-ST1000LX015/dp/B01LWRTRZU/ref=dp_ob_title_ce?th=1
The newer model has the same size NAND/SSD (8GB), but has an overall higher transfer and cache rate partly because it's a 7200 RPM drive instead of 5400. Plus, you can go all the way up to 2TB with the new model and it [should] still fit in the PS4 (i'm going off the dimensions listed on Amazon for the 2TB, because the 2TB is a double platter do a bit more research into whether this is accurate or not if you go that route).
Hope this helps!
4k on a 40-43" should be great.
I played for a 3 months on a Dell Ultra HD 4k Monitor P2715Q 27-Inch Screen LED-Lit Monitor (3840 x 2160) and loved it, except for the ^^^^^tiny Quest/Dialogue Text. Even with all UI elements set to 140%, some elements are just too small to be effective at that size screen (e.g. cooldown toolbar).
I've recently switched to a Dell UltraSharp U3415W 34-Inch Curved LED-Lit Monitor (3440 x 1440 Pixels), and although I miss the detail/scale, it makes for a better play experience.
I play mostly MMOs and RPGs and I have [this ultrawide from Dell](Dell UltraSharp U3415W PXF79 34-Inch Curved LED-Lit Monitor https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PXYRMPE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_.dp6ybDRVZ2JE).
I got it for $600 after rebate a year and a half ago. It's absolutely perfect for games that have a lot of UI clutter, because I can move all the unimportant things to the sides and have a really wide, beautiful view of everything compared to 16:9 monitors.
The only concern is that it takes a high end GPU to push such a high resolution. I have a Nvidia 980ti and will definitely upgrade at some point because it can't push high framerates in some of the more ridiculous games. FFXIV runs beautifully though! :)
I picked up this sexy beast for $499 during the black friday sale, and it's served me incredibly well for pretty much everything I've played that allows widescreen at 3440x1440. If you've got a beefy graphics card, you can handle really good settings at 60fps in FFXIV.

This is the one I bought, if it helps to know. It performs amazingly well and I find it fantastic to use on the go as well as at home, since this is my main computer in general. Great price point, too.
https://www.amazon.com/20-PlayStation-Store-Gift-Card/dp/B004RMK4BC/ref=dsvrt_myd_asin_block
I just bought this, redeemed my codes in ffxiv, and redeemed the 20$ to my playstation store account.
Super easy and works great. The code is available on amazon.com instantly after purchase, and i got my email for DLC codes also instantly.
So an update to anyone wondering about the keyboard I ended up with. I got this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UMF35MS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
So far its actually pretty great. The quality seems pretty good and it works.
It does take a bit to get used to since it is small. Most of the buttons have a secondary function as well, though the secondary function is in blue on the keys and very difficult to see. So you gotta get used to where these things are. Its very minor but it does change the way I hold the controller slightly. Its slightly bulky, but i think its convenience outweighs it. I am still a little slow typing on it but I should get better with practice. I think its good for anyone who needs a keyboard for light chatting. Im not sure if youd want to get it if you are constantly chatting or something as it may be too difficult for heavy use. However i may be fine as a supplement to a regular keyboard too for quick message when you don't want to put down your controller to use the keyboard.
If cost isn't a issue I would get the Logitech k810. It is super nice and easy to use. The light up keyboard is nice since I play in a dark room all the time. Link for the lazy http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Bluetooth-Illuminated-Keyboard-Smartphones/dp/B0099SMFVQ. I see that it is $100 right now and I only paid $60 when I got it.
Dude for 700 tops you could easily get a laptop with a dedicated GPU that will run FF14 fine.
Look up ones with a 1050 chip in. Nvidias mobile tech has been astoundingly good as of late.
https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Inspiron-5000-Gaming-Laptop/dp/B06XFG7157/ref=sr_1_13?keywords=gaming+laptop+1050&qid=1565090873&s=gateway&sr=8-13
See right there. Sure it's 1 CPU generation less but that laptop is enough for both work and play.
okay thats what i was wondering, im thinking about getting the complete edition on amazon [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SV2K92P/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3ODHND3J0WMC8&th=1] I was just wondering if there were any other editions that give little bonuses like exp boosts or start equipment or things like that
Thanks to all responses. Disappointing (especially since I just dropped $30 for a PS+ subscription I don't need), but it's good to have clarity.
Time to put that 60-Day Play Card on my Christmas list, I guess!
I used this one to play both FF and WoW at my last job for a few years, I never had any issues. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0105JD1HE/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I use the PX4 Turtle Beach headset. Transmitter connects to PS4 via optical audio cable, and then wirelessly to the headset. It can also connect to your phone via bluetooth so you can talk on your chat program. (It also has a 3.5mm port for dedicated chat, which I use with a splitter to connect to my PC for chat through TeamSpeak.)
The price is $120 new, but I found mine refurbished for around $70 (I think). Sound quality is well worth it. You might be able to find another Turtle Beach headset that will work for less, but the challenge with the PS4 is that the only dedicated audio channel is the optical audio out port. However, if cost isn't an issue, then this is a good headset to use.
Headset: http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Surround-Talkback-PlayStation-TBS-3276-011-4/dp/B00NHV0XV0/ref=dp_ob_title_vg
Yes I highly recommend it. I'm always the first to load into any dungeon on PS4 with my SSHD even against most PC players (I check) and I definitely noticed a difference when teleporting with a friend who has the stock PS4 hard drive.
I'm using http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Solid-Hybrid-2-5-Inch-ST1000LM014/dp/B00B99JUBQ, i've been using that for the 1TB space since I first got my PS4 since i'm going all digital this generation.
I bought this off Amazon and love it
http://www.amazon.com/Ortz%C2%AE-PS4-Wireless-Mini-Bluetooth-Keyboard/dp/B00UMF35MS
Much better than having to balance a keyboard and swap between the two, however if you're a fast typer this will feel a little slower since its more like texting on a keyboard phone rather than typing with a normal pc kb.
Best Buy and Gamestop sell them, they're digital codes. Best Buy sells them in two-month increments, and Gamestop makes you ask the employee (they don't have physical cards like Best Buy does, but the card is just a placeholder to email you the code after you purchase it).
You can also buy the cards on Amazon, apparently.
So you aren't entirely locked out of her account, you just need to use a workaround.
For the majority of SCOB progression I used a Logiteck K810.
http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Bluetooth-Illuminated-Keyboard-Smartphones/dp/B0099SMFVQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1421535542&sr=1-1&keywords=K810
It's pricey at the moment but I managed to snag it during a 50% off sale. It's pretty small and fairly feature-limited. However, what it can do, it does nicely.
Account Services > "Enter Recruitment Code" button
The account must have a FFXIV code registered to it, which is obtained when purchasing the game. The account will be eligible to enter a Recruitment Code until additional paid time is applied to it, such as a Pre-paid Time Card (applied immediately when code is entered) or a credit card subscription (applied when the 30 free days are over). Keep in mind that the recruitment rewards will not appear until additional paid time has been applied on the recruited account.
I use the Logitech K810. I've had it for several years, and it works great. Battery lasts for weeks. My bf uses the Logitech K380 and has had similar success.
Edit: Added links.
The key difference is the 380 uses 2 AAA batteries, whereas the 810 has an internal, rechargeable battery that uses a standard micro USB.
Yes: https://www.amazon.com/20-PlayStation-Store-Gift-Card/dp/B004RMK4BC/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1494083499&sr=1-1&keywords=psn+card

You would either need a bluetooth adapter or a USB cable. I recommend the former. So nice going wireless.
This is what I use and recommend: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008BC1U4O/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I looked into this recently and every article I found said speed gains from an SSD were minor and not worth the storage difference versus an SSHD and I can see why. You only need to cache the game you're currently playing and you don't want to have to keep reinstalling games because you've run out of space. This is your best bet for a new internal drive.
I currently have this:
http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Solid-Hybrid-2-5-Inch-ST1000LM014/dp/B00B99JUBQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1404853651&sr=1-1&keywords=hybrid+ssd
it's a hybryd SSH, and I load just as fast as anyone else into dungeons. in RT I see more character models and from much further, and I can actually DO Odin without dying every 5 seconds now.
The difference between a SSD and SSHD for me was negligible, but the amount I save cash-wise to get 1TB compared to 120GB was totally worth it IMO.
EDIT: Words.
I would put getting a keyboard as a must. It makes your quality of life so much better as a PS3 user. I have this one http://www.amazon.com/PS3-Wireless-Keypad-Playstation-3/dp/B001ENPDJA/ but also have another Logitech full size. I don't need the full size one anymore as it was more helpful at game launch when I was explaining dungeon mechanics to people.
Another upgrade I would suggest that is def not necessary but makes a world of difference for later in the game is to update to a SSHD in your PS3. It is about $100 and helps the system with load times, AOE dodging (it paints them faster on the ground) and rendering of your environment and other users. http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Solid-Hybrid-2-5-Inch-ST1000LM014/dp/B00B99JUBQ/
If you're just getting a code, go to amazon and buy Stormblood. Make sure you're buying the online game code version.
If you're playing off Steam, buy it off steam.
If you want the physical, yes, that will cost shipping.
Wow, okay -- am I glad I asked this question!! I would have been heartbroken not being able to log in and play!!
On amazong, the pre-order CE FFXIV has sky rocketed! Its $220+ !!
Would I be able to get this version:
http://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Reborn-Playstation-3/dp/B002BRZ79E/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1375721064&sr=8-2&keywords=ffxiv+arr+ps3
and then purchase the CE upgrade from SE after the launch found mentioned here:
http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/product/
So, when I purchase the game now, as "pre-order" will amazon send me the early access code? that I then put in... my square enix account thing? :-/ Sorry -- such a dunce about this.
Nobody's mentioned this but Sony started selling a dedicated dongle for the DS4 that has full feature support, including the headset audio. It's definitely the way to go. No muss, no fuss.
https://www.amazon.com/Sony-DualShock-4-USB-Wireless-Adaptor/dp/B01KWLKKQU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1494582076&sr=8-1&keywords=sony+dualshock+usb+dongle
You can play most classes up to level 35. Original cap was 50, each expansion has added ten levels to the current cap of 80. The trial won't get you to the best parts of the game but would give you a general feel for it.
No need to buy the game and expansions separately if you do enjoy it. There's a complete edition available for both PC and PS4 ($60) that includes the base game, all 3 expansions, and your first month's subscription fee.
Why can't you order off Amazon.com or something? All you have to do is throw in an American address somewhere in your address book so they think you live there, and order the digital copy and there ya go :)
Edit: It tells you how to make it so you can actually purchase it, since it knows your region based on your actual address. You can change it though to get around it. Just follow what it says :) I just tried it out myself, and I'm in Canada so can't normally purchase digital on Amazon.com.
It works well on PS4, however zone loading times can be a bit slow on the stock hard drive. IF you find the loading times too long, upgrading the PS4's hard drive to a hybrid or SSD drive will make a huge difference.
I can highly recommend pickup up a Seagate Firecuda hybrid drive:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M1NHCZT
You'll see zone loading times reduced by more than half:

Can I use a mini keyboard connected to the DS4 to map out some abilities and also use the cross bar?.
Ex: http://www.amazon.com/Ortz%C2%AE-PS4-Wireless-Mini-Bluetooth-Keyboard/dp/B00UMF35MS
Thanks!
No early access; probably going to receive it a couple days after it comes out as usual with Newegg.
Amazon's $30 after $10 Amazon credit, early access, and release-day shipping is a better deal.
Amazon US has it for $15
> https://www.amazon.com/FINAL-FANTASY-XIV-Heavensward-PlayStation-4/dp/B00OM6SALE/ref=sr_1_1_twi_gam_2?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1496862750&sr=1-1&keywords=heavensward&th=1
Or pre-order Stormblood and you will unlock Heavensward for free on the 16th.
Shadowbringers has a complete edition just like Stormblood did. You can tell if it's the Shadowbringers version as it will have 4 icons in a diamond shape.
The complete edition on Amazon looks like it has ShB included. https://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Online-Complete-PlayStation/dp/B07SV2K92P/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=final%2Bfantasy%2Bxiv%2Bcomplete&qid=1561985668&s=gateway&sr=8-1&th=1
Does anyone know if this pre-order on Amazon results in a Steam game code or a Square Enix game code? I need the Steam edition, so I want to make sure I'm buying the right thing...
Looks like Square Enix only sells the physical. I dunno if buying the digital on Amazon would give you any issues with the early access codes. You could give them 2 or 3 of these codes to redeem in the PS4 online store: https://www.amazon.com/20-PlayStation-Store-Gift-Card/dp/B004RMK4BC
If I register a friend, then buy one of this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00GOOSORM
And have em apply it to their account, will I get my super Chocobo mount right away?
Someone help me with my Chocobo obsession by confirming the right path. D8
Thanks!
I just wanted to say that I hadn't even heard of this promotion until I bought a digital code version of the $100 PSN card today and got emailed a promotional code. I can also confirm that it does have the promotion text that faydaletraction mentioned. This is the link I used to buy mine: https://www.amazon.com/20-PlayStation-Store-Gift-Card/dp/B004RMK4BC/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1465953226&sr=1-1&keywords=psn+card
For everyone who is dealing with this, I'm sorry. I've been burned by the SE Store enough to raise a stink about it over Twitter and get replies from Matt Hilton and even once, Soken himself.
For about two years now I've only ordered XIV merch from Amazon.co.jp - please take a look before you go to the SE store, especially for OSTs.
Here is the link for the Shadowbringers physical OST. Looks like it'll be back in stock on September 22: https://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B07W423TPF/
I can't speak for other countries but I know that they ship incredibly fast to the US. On top of that, you can change the website language so that all the information regarding ordering and payment is in English.
You pay just about the same for international shipping there as you would for domestic shipping at the SE store. I really, really would love someone from SE to comment on how terrible their store and store customer service are with the taking payment but never shipping, no communication, etc. But I think the sad truth of it all is that the corporation Square Enix just does not care as long as they get your money.
$20 PSN card is good if you have a ps4
https://www.amazon.com/20-PlayStation-Store-Gift-Card/dp/B004RMK4BC/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1493139569&sr=1-1
You would be much better off with an SSHD. It will give you close to SSD for a fraction of the cost:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkFRqhZajo0
edit: here is the one in the video, it is 2TB of storage for 85$ or 1TB for 63$
https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-FireCuda-Gaming-2-5-Inch-ST2000LX001/dp/B01M1NHCZT
What you can do is buy another PS3 copy of the game, upgrade your current PS3 license to the PS4 version, then use the bought PS3 copy to get the license back. The PS4 Upgrade Campaign has been extended to March 31st of 2015, so you have some time to do that. It's only 20$ right now as I'm posting this on Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Realm-Reborn-Playstation/dp/B002BRZ79E/ref=sr_1_1_twi_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1417535574&sr=8-1&keywords=ffxiv
I'd recommend buying it before it goes off sale.
Looks like the digital code for the PSN card works, so it's instant probably.
https://www.amazon.com/20-PlayStation-Store-Gift-Card/dp/B004RMK4BC/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1466372513&sr=1-1&keywords=psn+card+20
You should get a PS4 wireless keyboard if you don't have one already. Something like this if you're unfamiliar: http://www.amazon.com/Ortz%C2%AE-PS4-Wireless-Mini-Bluetooth-Keyboard/dp/B00UMF35MS
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00OM6SALE/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1479154867&sr=8-1&pi=SL75_QL70&keywords=heavensward+ps4
This is just the expansion, mind you, not the full game. If you don't already have ARR for the ps4, I do not believe it'll work for you. If you check your mogstation, it'll tell you what your account has flagged for which platform.
Meaning, if you don't already have the base game for the ps4, you'll need to get the full package, which is $24 on amazon, I believe. I think you can buy the license for other platforms through mogstat ion as well, though not sure.
For PC: To start playing you need just A Realm Reborn, which will grant you all content from 1-50 including the 2 years of patch content before Heavensward released. The only thing you will be missing out on is creating an Au Ra character that you can start the game as from level 1.
Then you need Heavensward, which grants access to the 50-60 content, with the new land (6 zones), 3 new jobs and the 2 years of Heavensward patch content. It also lets you either make an Au Ra character, or change your character's race to an Au Ra.
There is also a bundle where you may buy both the base game and the expansion together, but there is no bundle with Collector's Edition goodies.
You will need both collector's editions if you want all the digital goodies, or you can buy upgrades to both editions in order to get them, whenever you choose to.
On Steam it looks exactly the same. The only downside is that you are bound to buy everything on Steam and the box edition codes will not work with Steam. This makes it hard if you wish to have the physical collector's editions as their codes will not work with the Steam version and you would need to buy the collector's box and the Steam upgrade for Stormblood, for example.
For PS4:
It's the same as on PC, except the digital PSN codes and the box editions codes can be mixed and matched without issues.

Hey guys, I found a digital item which carries the promotion. It works for me so I hope it works for you. Just be sure to check if FFXIV is mentioned on the promo section.
PlayStation Network Card $20
You can always buy a time card online via Amazon, Gamestop, etc. I'm not sure if it's the case with FFXIV, but I know other MMOs have "digital time cards" you can buy on Amazon and such which, when bought, just give you the code so you don't actually have to wait for the card to be mailed to you.
Amazon link for 60 day time card
I don't know if you can order from Sony but you can preorder from amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Reborn-Playstation-3/dp/B002BRZ79E/ref=tag_dpp_lp_edpp_ttl_in
Or the squareenix site
This is the model I bought some months ago:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B99JUBQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
So far I haven't had any problems with the drive yet and the extra space compared to the stock HDD Sony gives you is nice for the games.
~~I think there's a newer model though with 2TB storage instead of just 1TB if you want the extra space:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FRHTTIA/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_gO62tb16RZ1S4~~
As well as a guide I saw while trying to look up the newer model incase you decide to upgrade your HDD:
http://imgur.com/a/JF5jA
EDIT: The second link isn't a newer model of the first, just a normal HDD from the looks of it with more space, my bad.
I could only find one digital version on there, but it's not currently available: https://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Stormblood-Online/dp/B01N6T7N9Q
You might see if there's something else you want if you start running out of time. Also, if you're looking to do a digital pre-order you may want to check out greenmangaming.com too, as they're offering around a 17% discount at the moment.
I am not sure about pairing it via bluetooth but I do use a cable USB and it recognizes it without any problem, I just need to set up the gamepad type in FFXIV's settings and I'm ready to go, no need for third party software.
Maybe I'm mistaken but I think you may need to buy the official Sony USB wireless adaptor for $21.49.
https://www.amazon.com/DualShock-4-USB-Wireless-Adaptor/dp/B01KWLKKQU/
However, I think I heard you actually could connect it via bluetooth without it and make it work, again, not sure.
They were added recently, actually. You can find them on Amazon here.
There are three separate versions listed on Amazon, although that probably doesn't mean anything
Will I get the early access if I pre-order the digital copy from Amazon?

it didn't at first but some digital codes now have the promotion thing, you just need to look at the page
https://www.amazon.com/20-PlayStation-Store-Gift-Card/dp/B004RMK4BC
i got this, if you scroll down, you see it qualifies for the promotion, despite being digital code.
I don't see NOT eligible, will I be able to get it with this? https://www.amazon.com/20-PlayStation-Store-Gift-Card/dp/B004RMK4BC/ref=pd_sim_367_9?ie=UTF8&dpID=51kH-voitsL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR111%2C160_&refRID=W67B17HBMMWXWN5QFKET
NA time cards do exist: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GOOSORM/
You can buy instant time, but it would have to be in increments 60 days. 60 days in the form of a Game Time Card.
http://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Reborn-Playstation-3/dp/B00GOOSORM
FFXIV takes official game cards, unrelated to Ultimate Game Cards.
http://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Reborn-Playstation-3/dp/B00GOOSORM
Hey,
Which one of these do I buy for FFXIV if I own the non-Steam version?
https://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Reborn-playstation-3/dp/B00GOOSORM/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=FFXIV+Time+Card&qid=1556911420&s=gateway&sr=8-2

Is the difference only in the Online delivery and physical? And if so, the one that says "Online Game Code" is the one that deliveries digitally right?
Meanwhile, at Amazon.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Realm-Reborn/dp/B00GOOSORM/
I bought one of these on sale for 10$. https://www.amazon.com/Ortz%C2%AE-PS4-Wireless-Mini-Bluetooth-Keyboard/dp/B00UMF35MS
I can't answer you that right now. Can check when I get home (if I remember).
This Adapter
Sony's official USB dongle comes out tomorrow.

So i'm assuming this would work?
Sony $20 digital card
Since apparently you can run out of FFXIV game cards.
Edit: Got immediate code. They came in my spam box, be sure to check it.
That's almost a low for Amazon http://camelcamelcamel.com/FINAL-FANTASY-XIV-Heavensward-PlayStation-4/product/B00OM6SALE
It's only recently dropped.
I'm not sure of any actual shops since I'm not in that area, but Amazon has 60 day time cards!
Even in the US I'm having an awful time paying for sub and other things. Mogstation won't take my credit/debit cards and just when I had UltimatePay work for me, they take it away. It's almost impossible to buy fantasia and I have a 3rd retainer running out of its sub time too. Paypal doesn't work anymore because it was part of UltimatePay option. The only thing I can do is buy 60 day cards from amazon and play with my first world problems ...
I don't know if this will help, OP ... but this is where I get my cards now.
http://www.amazon.com/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Reborn-Playstation-3/dp/B00GOOSORM
Read the warning that tell you that it is permanent?
Also, in the future, I would suggest comparing prices. The game is $20 on Amazon.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002BRZ79E/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1404775774&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40
here's the complete edition on amazon it says it comes with shadowbringers and you would have to make an account through square enix it doesn't activate on steam but if you already have the client downloaded on steam you can launch it from there then just sign in with the account you made on square enix if you don't have it downloaded you can just download the stand alone from square enix directly
