I think so. Are they DP++? That means that at the electronics level they actually are capable of producing the signals in the DVI format. If so you can just use a passive adapter like this one, and it will work perfectly with no drawbacks or added latency whatsoever.

I actually just upgraded from my old HDD to a 2TB Sabrent Rocket SSD with a clean install of Win10 a little over a month ago so I should be good there.

I actually hadn't considered the possibility that my RAM could be an issue. I just assumed "Eh, I have 16GB of RAM, so it'll be fine." Should I look into upgrading my RAM? Really, that's not a huge deal to me if it will give me significant improvements since RAM tends to be one of the less expensive components in a build.

I found this selling on amazon for $240 I'm a bit worried about buying from another seller, they only have 7 reviews do you think its a safe bet?

This is the card I believe its 6gb you need to click under 15 new, the second one for $241 looks pretty good

They are indeed. This is a receiver you can buy today that supports both: http://www.amazon.com/Onkyo-TX-NR646-7-2-Channel-Network-Receiver/dp/B00WM1V9KU

In terms of media support the Bluray versions of Mad Max and Ex Machina support Atmos and X, respectively. There are several Blurays with Atmos support and a few with DTS:X. These formats will be used by several major films in 2016 such as X-Men Apocalypse and Batman VS Superman.

Thanks for your response. Would this EVGA 2070 XC be the Super version you were recommending?

I would make sure to try a good quality HDMI, 2.0 or better 2.0b. I picked one up to replace similar issues that surfaced when I updated my Radeon VII drivers that this cable replacement corrected.

Get an AMD Radeon RX 560- 580. They should be good enough for most graphics requirements for your system.

El Cheapo option more inline with your CDN budget:

MSI Gaming Radeon RX 560 128-bit 4GB GDRR5 DirectX 12 VR Ready CFX Graphcis Card (RX 560 AERO ITX 4G OC) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072J422CZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_JkjYBb7E1D32B

Cheapest 580 I can find with a really quick search:

ASUS Radeon RX 580 O4G Dual-Fan OC Edition GDDR5 DP HDMI DVI VR Ready AMD Graphics Card (DUAL-RX580-O4G) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071CMPRZZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_Y.iYBbZ4WYWV3

One I would buy myself with some more money in the budget:

Sapphire 11265-05-20G Radeon Pulse RX 580 8GB GDDR5 Dual HDMI / DVI-D / Dual DP OC with Backplate (UEFI) PCI-E Graphics Card Graphic Cards https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06ZZ6FMF8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_TbjYBbYH08G5N

I'd say go for a 1050ti. It should easily get 60fps+ in minecraft. It definitely shouldn't bottleneck with your CPU and I'm 99% sure that it won't with your wife's either.

u/rootbeerfetish · 0 pointsr/graphicscard

Some tryhard troll came and downvoted the thread. Ignore that. In any case your system looks like it would easily support a 1660 Ti no problem. Especially if your budget is around 300 dollars USD. The one I linked is a little bigger. If you have a normal sized ATX case you should be fine just keep that in mind if you have a really small case.

You can browse different 1660 Ti's here. Different price points and different websites to find the best deal etc.

Okay so i've ordered this.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B008RJZR40/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new

But what you're saying is , the 600w will be sufficient enough , but a PSU upgrade is always welcome ?

u/Peter_889 · 1 pointr/graphicscard

Here is the PSU I bought:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00PGUSEBG/ref=twister_B016KV6WRW?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

The GPU:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-GTX970-DC2OC-4GD5-NVIDIA-GeForce-Graphics/dp/B00NFFAW50/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1474035747&sr=1-1&keywords=asus+strix+970

The length is something that concerned me yes, I have measured inside the case and I should have 2 cm to spare. It just about reaches the HDD bay, but it should be able to fit.

u/BAGELSPANK · 1 pointr/graphicscard

You could look into a vertical mounting kit, maybe.

Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/CableMod-Vertical-PCI-Bracket-DisplayPort/dp/B07D7NM2P6

Those older dell systems don't have much room inside is the only thing, so it might take a little modification and ingenuity to get working..
