I think I might have some great ideas, I could also help you make some of the things. You come make a set of these coupons, except the boyfriend versions. You know, cook, clean, date night, movie night ect. If she likes little cute things made, you can make her an Alphabet book which each letter having to do with something about why you love her and a little explanation. For example, A - Amazing "you are always so amazing" or something like that. You could give her the gift of a culinary class, which is always fun. You get to learn to cook, cook, and eat the food you make. Another really cool gift is learning to fly My girlfriend and I did this yesterday for our 2 year anniversary and it was amazing! You can also take her on a camping trip! There are some really cool trails if you live in California. I can personally recommend Skyline to the sea trail it is a beautiful trail and leads directly to the ocean on the beach. It's really amazing. Near the end of the trail, there are bus stations you can take to nearby towns like Santa Cruz. If your girlfriend likes nail polish, i know many girls like a way to display them. I just made my girlfriend a Hello Kitty nail polish rack I'm sure she would appreciate it. Its pretty easy to make and I have no woodwork experience. Another great idea might be to start a window herb garden. It makes great decoration and you can use it for cooking! If you have some old mason jars around you can use those. You can also make custom coasters for you drinks. You can take pictures of you two together and glow them on to some cork board and cut them into little squares, you then apply some clear waterproof seal spray or paint. You can also make a little note about her and your love using candy keywords. If she likes to wear jewelry, you make this simple display/holder which looks good and is easy to make. If you guys want some board games for the place for when friends come over Settlers of Catan is an AMAZING game, if you get the game you HAVE to get Cities and Knights easily the best expansion. The game is a must buy for anyone really. You can also make her a mixtape of your favorite songs, its old fashioned but it will be appreciated, i promise. As a general gift idea, for out of the blue, you can make your girlfriend a period care package, put the mixtape, maybe a heating pack, chocolate, her favorite movie on a dvd, some of her favorite snacks in a box. She'll love it.

I have tons of ideas, if you need anymore more specific or need help making some of the stuff (guidance or advice) just send me a PM. Thanks for doing this spidey :P

What price range are you talking about? Here's some gifts divided into categories and price:

Lord of the Rings (Does she like LotR?):

  • LotR Lego - You said she was smart and likes things to be clean, so I'm going to assume she likes decorating. And what's better than decorating your house with things you have built yourself? These sets range from $29.99 to $199.99. Check out the rest out!
  • The One Ring - Ranges from $59.95 to $99.99. If she likes it, she will wear it multiple times a week.
  • Arwen's Evenstar Pendent - Ranges from $72.99 to $149.00 (I like the higher end products myself). Subtle, fancy, and looks nice when going out.
  • Sting - For the sword and the scabbard it's going to almost always cost around 174.98. Hang it on the wall, use it for home protection, it's shiny, ect.

    Games:

  • Zombie Dice - BLARRGH BRAINZ FOR $13.13 ARRRUUGGH SUPER CASUAL FUNNY
  • Munchkin - Very casual party game with lots of expansions. Listed at $24.95 on their website, but it usually will sell for ~$20 at your local Barnes & Nobel or Target.
  • DOMINION - I bolded this suggestion because it is a card game and this is the Hearthstone sub-reddit. A brilliant German Board Game which invented the genre of deck-building games. Players draw 5 cards from their deck every turn, using the cards they draw to buy more cards for their deck. When they have no new cards to draw, they shuffle their discard pile back into the deck and keep on playing. If you enjoy the deck building element of any card game, this game is immensely fun. The base set is $30.30 on Amazon right now.
  • Settlers of Catan - Want to get into more hardcore board gaming? This is the gateway game to start. Being another German Board Game, it focuses on non-combat economic decision making. That doesn't mean you cant screw eachother over, as in any good board game. The site asks for $42.00. Again, this game has a lot of expansions. I like the Star Trek Version which goes for $49.99.

    Other:

  • Espresso Machine - Does she like Coffee? For ~$79.00 you could cut out Starbucks entirely from your life. If you go to Starbucks every other day, this will pay for itself in just over a month.
  • Record Player - Nothing beats some nice Analog sound, it's so much more real to me. These vary all over in price depending on what you want out of it. Here's a really nice one for $150.98. Just go to BestBuy/Walmart to find one more precisely for what you're looking for. Here's one of my favorite records of all time. Here's a really sexy big band one.
  • Wacom Tablet - Is she artistic at all? One of these for ~$229.99 and she'll be able to draw beautiful things on her computer.
  • A good memory - Take her on a nice date. Inform her she will need to dress well and rent a tux. Go out to an expensive local restaurant and split a meal. Both walk in overdressed and own it. Watch the sun set. Go home, pour her some wine and give her a massage. Bathe each other. Watch her favorite show all night. Go out for breakfast and watch the sun rise. Something different; something exciting! Live life in a routine? CHANGE THE ROUTINE. She will not forget it and this is the best gift you can give her.

These are my main suggestions, for everything else there's Think Geek. But really, browse this site.

    ^^Moved ^^from ^^your ^^original ^^comment ^^to ^^the ^^thread, ^^as ^^was ^^original ^^intended ^^location.

Not knowing you or your gf or your price range, it will be kind of difficult to make perfect suggestions, but I'll give you a few that I have gotten mine, or she has gotten me that worked out to be really good:

Serious stuff:

Kindle - You say she is a genius, so maybe she likes to spend free time reading. I never thought I'd use a Kindle until I got one, and now I use it daily. It's portable, easy on the eyes, and gives her the chance to read anything she wants.

A Puzzle - I've always enjoyed doing puzzles in my free time but as I grew older I lost time to do them. My girlfriend got me one last Christmas, and we have been doing them together ever since. They are great when one of you want to watch a movie or TV that the other may not be as interested in. The other person can relax and do a puzzle, but you are still spending time together. We normally pick one out together that we really like, then glue it together when we finish it. Our plan is to eventually frame them and put them up in our office.

Less serious:

Body Pillow - I've had friends give this to their SO's and the reaction is always hilarious. For the girlfriend who "has to have you there" to sleep comfortably.

I'll leave it to those for now. I'm not much of a cook, outdoorsy person, or crafty so my suggestions for those would be lacking. Good luck, but just remember no matter what you get her, she'll love it. Just...make sure you actually get her something. It's not just the thought that counts.

Uh... I'm kind of a decent resource?

I can certainly point you to a few different places. First, for "up-to-date" WoW-expansion related events, Nobbel's YouTube Channel is superb. I believe his longest video is the story of the Lich King -- following Ner'Zhul, Arthas and then the two put together. It's 3 hours and 15 minutes long.

For Lore of the Cards? SixGamers! Their two longest videos are for Rhonin and Vol'jin at 107 minutes and 113 minutes, respectively. He has also been working on Fandral Staghelm and we can expect that soon, which should be great.

For the gospel for what is and isn't canon in the Warcraft lore, alongside beautiful art and good reading? Warcraft Chronicle Volume I is great, and I really really look forward to the second volume. Note, that some of the lore has been changed through the Warcraft Chronicle, such as the lore presented in SixGamers' Medivh episode for Lore of the Cards. (47 minutes.

It's not too different, but the context in which Medivh's mother and father decided to have a child is different, and who Nielas Aran was is different as well. I'll give you the differences quickly here:

Pre Chronicle: Nielas Aran was the Court Conjurer for Stormwind. Aegwynn took a fancy to him as father of her child, seduced him and became pregnant, only using him. She left Medivh in his care before taking off.

In the Chronicle: Nielas Aran was a member of the Tirisgarde, a secret sect of the Council of Tirisfal, a secret sect of the ruling body of Dalaran, comprised of Elves and Humans that defended Azeroth from demonic incursions resulting from their use of the arcane. As member of the Tirisgarde, he was tasked with using artifacts and relics of great power that could be used to help subjugate the on-the-run Aegwynn, who refused to give in her Guardian powers back to the Council, partly due to the corruption of Sargeras, subtly whispering doubts.

In their chase, they bantered back and forth to find weaknesses. Nielas realised that Aegwynn wasn't oh-so bad, and eventually gave up, believing her innocence. The two fell in love, and Aegwynn wanted to make up for everything, and pass on her Guardianship. She wanted a child who could take up the mantle. Nielas saw a darkness in her and saw this as a way of helping her redeem herself, unaware of just how significant that darkness would become or who that darkness was.

Medivh was born, and Nielas then became Court Conjurer of Stormwind so he could raise his son alongside the best and brightest -- the King's son, Llane Wrynn and Anduin Lothar, who would eventually become the Lion of Azeroth. He also chose Stormwind due to its geographical distance from the other human kingdoms and consequently his ability to stay away from the Kirin Tor's powerful influence.

So, they ended up meeting, they ended up doing it, they ended up having Medivh with Nielas as more or less a single father and Medivh ended up befriending Llane/Anduin in Stormwind in both stories. The "key points" are the same. The main difference is how things were reflected on Aegwynn -- instead of a rather badass but callous woman who took everything into her own hands, she was a rather badass woman who eventually opened up to a capable and understanding man, working with him to take things into their own hands.

Sorry, that was a far longer explanation than I'd expected it to be. But hey, if you have any questions about anything (regardless of how silly it may sound), go for it!

Couple ideas off the top of my head:

You could incorporate some of the elements from the Karazhan game board. You mentioned the stage, but the broomstick, candles (floating, even, if you get those little electric tea lights), or the orb lights that are in the top right corner. Maybe some sort of large tome or hand-drawn runes that could be hung up as decoration. The broom is sweeping up broken purple crystals, you could grow those quickly and easily and would add a sort of magical decoration to the mix.

A playlist with music from Warcraft or Hearthstone would add to the ambiance. The Hearthstone theme is pretty low-key and there are lots of youtube covers and renditions. TGT also has a great jingle, and I know I have at least one Warcraft album that has some very low-key ambient tunes from various towns and pubs in-universe. I have a TON of warcraft music, please PM me and I would be happy to send you some.

There is a World of Warcraft cookbook that surely has some good ideas for food. Regardless, just make sure you serve some guac :)

Good luck with the party, take some pictures and post an update!

Well, I've got a few suggestions.
First, for outdoorsy, a survival bracelet is nice and very customizeable to whatever type of colors she prefers. http://survivalstraps.com/
Also I can't go anywhere hiking without my Camelback: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=node%3D3400551&field-keywords=camelback&rh=n%3A3400551%2Ck%3Acamelback

For food, I have two outstanding links for you: http://www.ediblearrangements.com/ Anything from here is absolutely stunning and delicious

These guys have a lot of tasty things as well, but without knowing specifcs of what type of food she likes this is about as much as I could give food wise: http://www.igourmet.com/

For being smart: Why not make her even smarter and get her every National Geographic ever!? Has over 1400 issues, very cool gift.
http://www.amazon.com/Complete-National-Geographic-Every-Issue/dp/B003XIKA4W/ref=sr_1_1?s=software&ie=UTF8&qid=1377472419&sr=1-1&keywords=national+geographic

For cleaning: This is a tough one, my best thing would be to get a coupon for a cleaning service maybe.

Hey I think I might help you out.

The last time my gf had her birthday I gave her a weekend in a hotel, has to be in another city ofc, with a hot chocolate massage, wellness, candlenightdinner and champagne included. She said it was better than anything she imagined. And a had a great weekend with her aswell.

But if you look for something material, don't go for something extraordinary, dessous are always good (you get something from it as well), some jewellery (which might be to expensive..) or her perfume.

Two tickets for her favourite band are good as well if you live in a bigger city.

But last but not least ALWAYS write a card with that, make a funny joke inside or whatever, this is a must.

edit: if she likes good coffee, get her a coffee machine, always useful i recommend this

u/Sbtl · 1 pointr/hearthstone

First off does she use pinterest? Of course she has one, every girl uses pinterest. Go to the food tab and see what she has pinned there. Find the most interesting looking breakfast like thing, normally there not even that hard to make so you should be okay even if you don't have too much experience in the kitchen. A lot of the deserts on there are actually really amazing too, so that's not a bad follow up.

Second off if there's any choir/task whatever that shes been bugging you about get that done. You said she likes clean things so your place better be spotless.

For your first actual present you can get her a small something like flowers and chocolates, they're relatively cheap and they always appreciate them.

Then theres the fancy dinner option, The Melting Pot is a personal favorite of mine.

And if by outdoors you mean camping I'll call upon my days as a boy scout and say some of the best nights I've ever spent in the woods was on one of these babies
http://hennessyhammock.com/catalog/#hammock

And for the genius inside her, and if she has good hands, which for your sake I hope she does, hehe , these wooden puzzles make great stocking stuffers. Kept my family of 3 engineers busy for a good while last Christmas morning.

Hope any of that helped, I know some of it is the obvious stuff, but sometimes that's the stuff girls like the most. Gl mate.

Depends what your budget is.

1)Every girl wants a Mixer, trust me bro that thing makes girls vagoo wetter than Tom Petty.
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=stand+mixer&rh=n%3A172282%2Ck%3Astand+mixer

2)If she likes outdoors, you could get her a really sick durable camera, waterproof, drop proof, pretty much outdoor proof.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ATE7ULY/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00ATE7ULY&linkCode=as2&tag=ttr_article-20

3)If she likes things clean, you could hire a maid service and instead of her cleaning, take her out hiking/camping/outdoorsy stuff or a nice day at dat spa get her a manicure lookin real good.

4)Food Scented Candles, women love candles... can't go wrong here

5)Some advice, if you ask her what she wants.. you can't go wrong ;)

Good Luck!!! must be a special girl ;)

im pretty sure she will love it

u/Krunchtime · 12 pointsr/hearthstone

Warcraft 3 & Frozen Throne for sure.

WoW has some great lore, but most of it isn't totally related to Hearthstone. You could still run around and see loads of Hearthstoney things and see how they fit into the grand scheme of things.

Also, Warcraft: Chronicle is a great source of lore, but most of it is stuff from the beginning of the Warcraft universe that hasn't made its way into Hearthstone yet.

u/peroxidex · 1 pointr/hearthstone

Perhaps we all missed this last night, but Amazon has a link to the terms of the promotion on Hearthstones page.

http://www.amazon.com/Blizzard-Entertainment-Hearthstone-Heroes-Warcraft/dp/B00P77ZAN8/

There is one important one that can make everyone rest easier.

7. Limit one per customer per app, in-app item or other product subject to the promotion, other than for in-app items designed to be purchased multiple times (such as in-game currencies or extra lives).

As packs are designed to be purchased multiple times, it seems we are supposed to receive the bonus each time!

u/MyNameIsXal · 8 pointsr/hearthstone

There are 3 WoW history books that explain the story from the creation of the cosmos to the defeat of Deathwing (happened on 2011 year IRL).

They have a total of 552 pages (184 each), and mind you I DID say they are history books, as they are not literary books, they don't explore different subjects from different characters' point of view, they just state the events that happened in the order they happened, so they are pretty boring(like your average high school history book), but more interesting than history lessons since, for example the history of Europe doesn't include demons and giant dragons.

And it's not even the full story since a lot of things have happened in WoW since 2011 and are continuing to happen since it is an MMORPG with regular updates that continue the story forward.

TL;DR There is enough curriculum to teach MORE than a year of high school history

u/CapnCrunch10 · 3 pointsr/hearthstone

It was described in the book "War Crimes".

There is a video synopsis on the book by Nobbel. Contains spoilers (obviously).

The gist of it is that an attack happened before the trial concluded and Wrathion and Kairoz helped Garrosh escape by forming a portal to the past (basically think of it as an alternate reality). The story is pretty good and the book and video are definitely worth it if you enjoy the lore.

u/KoboldCoterie · 1 pointr/hearthstone

$350 at the moment on Amazon, if that's in budget. It's a rather nice tablet for non-Hearthstone applications, too; I'd recommend it if you're looking for a larger Android model.

It runs flawlessly on the iPad Air, too, but I think that's about the same price. I work in QA on a lot of mobile products, so I have an assortment of tablets for working on; it's definitely unplayable on the Nexus 7, don't even bother with that.

u/VerticalEvent · 1 pointr/hearthstone

If she plats on Android, a google gift card will do (or Apple if she plays on the iOS).

If she plays on PC, you can buy a Battle.Net Balance card. I think it takes up to 3 days for the balance to be usable, once claimed.

u/frankerzfrankerz · 1 pointr/hearthstone

https://www.amazon.com/Battle-net-Store-Gift-Card-Balance/dp/B012JMS4W2

Something like this, a giftcard to battlenet or credit there may go over the same way.

u/quinpon64337_x · 2 pointsr/hearthstone

you can't gift the pre-orders (doesn't work with BfA either) so what you'd wanna do is gift them one of these off of amazon, you get the code straight away and they're able to add the balance.

  1. Buy 5000 coins with this link (20% off)

  2. Download Hearthstone from Amazon App store (delete hearthstone from your phone if you already have it there)

  3. Buy expansion from Hearthstone Amazon App Version. It will prompt you to use coins if you are in the app.
u/evilresident · 36 pointsr/hearthstone

She did after seeing how consumed by hatred that version of her had become (plus kind of you know, nearly dying), during the book War Crimes however i'd say that they took a 'snapshot' of the characters when Hearthstone was released / in production and that's what you see in game.

Very good point though :)

u/afternoonview · 0 pointsr/hearthstone

I don't know your price ranged but she probably wouldn't mind a Kindle? It isn't even that expensive. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007HCCNJU/ref=sd_allcat_kdptq

u/honj90 · 1 pointr/hearthstone

I noticed they announce the coinback promo on the Hearthstone page. Does anyone know if they do the same on the German page every time coinback is enabled for german accounts?

u/DeusExMachinae · 0 pointsr/hearthstone

Can I get a link for that? I've only been able to find physical copies for sale

E: Nevermind, I found it for anyone else interested
