For free overview the wiki and wikivoyage articles should be good enough to print and bring along:
For books try these since they have kindle versions (note: I haven't read them):
For Indonesian travel on a wider perspective I can recommend this:
Also while in Jogja have a visit to the Ullen Sentalu museum too.
Saturn Run describes this in a great deal, also if you like reading some sci-fi thriller, I'd recommend getting it. You can easily import it from opentrolley.co.id though.
you can start with this series. or this[part1] and this[part2]
or this book
if you have found the topic you like, you might like to go to read the hardcore boring book LOL
> Why didnt you mention medieval islamic world? They are more advanced than their western counterpart at that pojnt in time and they are definitely theocratic.
No reason, just didn't mention it. It's a general answer anyway.
> Also, confucianism is not religion, its more of a philosophy or ideology. Just a fun fact here.
To some religions are ideology/philosophy, and to others it's faith. The wiki on religious confucianism lays it out pretty well. Further confucianism itself is wrapped in differing layers of "value" and/or "meaning", that merge and split without sense; unless you are immersed and understand it.
> I agree and disagree on your points. For western world, religion has significantly hampered the technological advancement (galileo, copernicus) but they still manage to be developed.
To say that the catholic church persecuted Galileo and Copernicus is but a facet of truth. Without going into too much details, both men/works were tried/rejected for political reason, not entirely divorced from their scientific work. But neither of their ideas were prosecuted on its own merit, rather it's all connected to sociopolitical-ness of the period.
Suggest you read up on the catholic church and science wiki, and further Galileo's Daughter. Catholic church was the biggest institution and were all for new knowledge and progress. The idea that it retard scientific knowledge is at best selective reading+interpretation, and at worse, patently false.
also try Garuda Food Ting Ting. it's a traditional peanut sugar coated candy that's always a classic choice http://www.amazon.com/Garuda-Food-Ting-Bar-4-40/dp/B00UBZG710
Tango Wafer. Mostly chocolate but this brand is a well-known wafer brand with different kind of flavour.
for drink, try Good Day Avocado Delight
*Richeese brand (they also branch out to fried chicken franchise called Richeese Factory; it's a local brand from West Java)
bagus sih, tapi menurut gw mending baca "The Conquest of Happiness" tulisan Bertrand Russell, karena formulanya mirip The subtle art tapi lebih analitis dan filosofis. Menurut gw ini masih the OG of "self help book". Ditulis tahun 30an tapi masih sangat2 applicable buat jaman sekarang.
The gossip was.... ES was like a mentor to DI....
He is very proud to DI that when he was sick... he give around 2.5% of Jawa Pos.... to DI. However... with some "magic" DI manage to "produce" some papers so that he "buy" Jawa Pos from ES family.... with artificial low valuation...
ES very mad! On his deathbed he told his family for DI not to come to visit him or his funeral.
In Wars Within The Story of Tempo an Independent Magazine in Soeharto's Indonesia, Prof Janet Steele describe TEMPO as a "training ground" for their reporters until their alumnae become successful and leads their own media groups. All successful names are mentioned.... except DI! He is considered as betrayer of reporters ethics....
I think that's what I know...
Buy a bidet... Instal it yourself.. And bam... You have a cebokan
Edit: here's the best selling one on amazon

recently i have been active on github. several project that i contributing need a lot of update/fix/test. so for several days i have been reading tdd python. it show how good is mock object and later i found how good is pytest.
i don't know how i miss this in my programming class. the semester end only in
class
section and never go deep into testing. the next semester is more into programming organization(waterfall technique etc). i don't know how people teaching programming in indonesian (high school).now i'm still learning how to apply the testing to the django framework.
The first one is this brand new book I find on a university bookshop in a sleepy town in another ASEAN country. I know this sounds stupid and some people find it extremely boring and tedious, but I enjoyed math. This engineering mathemathics book is very heavy (+/- 3kgs), which is half of my traveling bag in term of weight.
Never actually used any of the Stroud's book before, I am impressed by the depth and width of the topic he is trying to cover in this edition. This is enlightening to me, because when you are solving math problems (Which, believe me there are more than I can finish on my trip) you stop talking to yourself and start to listen to yourself. Poetic, I know, but we're all a bit crazy.
And the other book I read for leisure is Helter Skelter. I know this might sounds a little bit off, but I am actually a fan of Manson's work. He is genius (to an extent), delusional, extremely charismatic, and consistently insane. I am a hippie, and I openly admit that, and Manson, in his own way kill the hippie community growth by capitalizing on the ignorance of a generation and the maturation of an era. Oh, and, of course, they were brought to justice at the end, that was sort of the main story line they are trying to sell.

>Ada recommended savory/salty/fried food to try making?
ada, ini gampang bgt dan lumayan cepet.
(gue agak cringe nama namain makanan gini, cuma ya gue coba describe aja yak. mudah mudahan ga bingung)

Pan seared boneless chicken thigh, with garlic, rosemary, and lemon.

Ingredients:

kl kentang atau ubi biasanya gue kupas, rebus biar starch nya ilang, gue angkat terus gue tumis tumis pake bawang putih, garem, sama dried oregano. udah gitu aja.
(biasanya kentang sama ubi gue campur, biar balance ada manisnya)

sayurnya bisa pake salad. jadi selada/ lettuce fresh, diaduk pake vinaigrette.
resep vinaigrette:
Ingredients:
Directions:
campur di satu toples/jar/ botol. kocok2. diemin 30 menitan. jadi deh. udahnya kuat di taro kulkas kayak.. 1 bulan- 2 bulanan lah.

met nyobain! kl bingung you can PM me.
You mean you want to understand the basics of economics?
I haven't read this particular book myself, but the "for dummies" series have always been very easy to read. So try Economics For Dummies.

or
The first link there's a pdf on it, but for some reason it always fails to download halfway through for me, maybe you have better luck. The first and second are related, and the authors have the same last name.
I suppose it's easy to get into programming, just buy some books like this, try to code some, and go to stackoverflow when you stuck.
Why would you after Indonesian gaming company? I heard that gameloft paycheck is good and they have an office in Indonesia.
Browsing di toped kebanyakan holdernya paling pendek sekitar 11 cm an (aka hold hp vertikal, pengennya buat horizontal). Ini promising tapi w ga nemu.
