My one bit of advise, skip the keyboard case and get a nice small bluetooth keyboard, and one or more cases of your choice. I've had several generations of iPads and a few Keyboard cases in my time. They are more expensive and have consistently broken on me. Of all the separate keyboards I've had, not one has broken, I've taken them with me between devices, and they've lasted years. You can buy far more or less protective cases, as you wish.

Just some recommendations:

  • https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PIMKN1Q/
  • https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AKCM5YG
  • https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GWGLUZ0/

The Microsoft is my favorite, but no longer available. the iClever foldable is my newest and I'm getting to like it quite a bit.

The only argument I can make for the 4G iPad is that it also includes GPS capabilities. If you want to use it for navigation, photography with geotagging, or any other location-dependent activity, you might want to consider it. It also grabs a slightly higher resale value.

The Pro gets you the Pencil, faster speeds, more memory, slightly better screen, larger sizes. If you don't need any of these, then no reason to get the Pro. The iPad can do anything a Pro model can do, except for hardware differences (Pencil compatibility and True Tone screen).

The iPad (any model) can handle note taking and basic office productivity very well. Apple's iWork apps are the "smoothest" and fit the iPad the best. But Microsoft Office is not far behind. Google's apps are shoe-horned to work with the iPad and the least "iPad like" IMHO. But since all are basically free to download and try I'd say give them all a chance.

I would recommend getting the 128G. You can't upgrade later and some day you may wish you had the space, especially for movies and the like. Transferring to and from the cloud can be a chore.

Late reply, but I'm using this one!

It's a nice surface; you lose the retina quality of the screen, but the image quality is still amazing. Gives some nice tooth. I didn't mind the smooth surface as much as some people do, but this is definitely better. It looks a lot like a cintiq screen with it, but with the better resolution of the iPad.

u/Eastpetersen · 1 pointr/ipad

So a couple things the poetic cases are pretty awesome and so cheap that I thought they were too cheap and held of buying them for a bit.

iPad Air 3 Case (10.5 Inch, 2019), iPad Pro 10.5 Case, Poetic Flexible Soft Transparent TPU Clear Back Cover with Pencil Holder, Compatible with Apple Smart Keyboard and Smart Cover, Lumos, Clear https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N4LHPZE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_tAQHDbH7TAW53

The default keyboard IMO is much better than people give it credit for, I have no issues typing on it or using it. Also since they haven’t changed it you can find it on sale for a lot less than msrp. Apple Pencil comes with the charging adapter so you don’t have to plug it into the iPad, and it doesn’t need to be charged all the time. Also since it is the same pencil you can find some good deals on it as well still a bit much.
Personally in the same situation I found a used iPad Pro 10.5 64gb with pencil and keyboard for 450 and have no regrets (maybe 64gb)

>I type a few essays for school every blue moon, but that's about it.

Do not underestimate the convenience of having two windows open at the same time. Yes, you can switch between Safari and Pages/Word/whatever with a swipe, but it gets old quick.

Also: you're going to want a real keyboard to type an essay. You do not want to do it with the onscreen keyboard. Period. If you're not doing a lot of typing all over the place (library, notes in class, etc), then I guess that means you don't have to get a tiny keyboard, which is good news for typing comfort.

I'd suggest either the Universal Mobile Keyboard from Microsoft (no joke) or the K480 by Logitech. Both of them are nice to type on while still small enough to fit in most bags.

u/techontech · 3 pointsr/ipad

Closest thing to what you describe: https://www.amazon.com/Elecbae-Keyboard-Case-iPad-2018/dp/B07QL4XJBB

Almost any angle hinge kickstand but no keyboard: https://www.amazon.com/Maxjoy-Compatible-iPad-Pro-Case/dp/B07MWXLPNL/

Another kickstand with keyboard, but not really a hinge kickstand: https://www.amazon.com/Inateck-Keyboard-Detachable-Compatible-KB02005/dp/B07MZT4N4H

Not kickstand, but the one that I went with: https://www.amazon.com/Muse-Case-Protective-Convenient-Magnetic/dp/B07H7VK7K8

I believe all 3 have been talked about throughout this thread, so if you search by their names, you can see how others feel about them (mostly positive for each one). I've been looking for one as well, though without the keyboard. Unfortunately, i don't think we have yet to have a stand that comes close to the fluidity of a Surface Pro hinge stand. I'm waiting to see if anything newer pops up in the fall (ideally hoping to see one with a trackpad). In the meantime, I picked up a Zugu case that has functioned pretty well.

u/haswelli5 · 2 pointsr/ipad

Yeah I can see how it would bug you if you edit photos. I found that matte screen protector also reduces glare so that helps since I read a lot of journal articles, but I think you should be okay without a screen protector.

Edit: Also, I do a decent amount of math and I found that I could easily lay a ruler or protractor down on my ipad and draw angles and lines. Though I would be hesitant to do that if I didn't have a screen protector. But if your major doesn't require that then this is irrelevant haha

Also I use this case as my back cover for the ipad pro and it goes well with the smart keyboard :)

I'm a design student and I'm planning to get a 11 inch pro. Its coming off my one-time education loan and I see it as a long-term investment for at least 4 years down the line. Why the 11 inch pro, despite its butter like bending properties?

because, it's performance that can handle advanced apps in the future, like photoshop CC and more.

I did my research on the internet and got surprised reading this on reddit. After a lot of posts and videos, i decided to get a metal case for my ipad, Like the one here, but for ipad pro 11. So far I couldn't find any. If anyone knows any similar product that'd make my 11 inch pro a tank, please do share in the comments. Thank you.

Also i came across this. I'm not sure how hard it is to bend this case. Of course not as hard as steel or aluminium, but if its any good compared to otterbox symmetry or defender(which are ugly and expensive). If anyone has used it, or wanna try, please share your experience.

u/JMowery · 2 pointsr/ipad

I picked up a $15 Moko one on Amazon for the iPad Pro 12.9". It works incredibly well and offers great protection at a low price. You can also show off the back of the iPad, as it's fairly transparent as well.

Here's the 9.7" one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0158AZOHU/

Seems to have tons of great reviews as well. I think it's worth it. (Note, it isn't compatible with the Smart Keyboard.)

u/JanoHelloReddit · 2 pointsr/ipad

I’ve seen 2 options compatible with the smart folio.

Option 1: i-Blason Halo V2.0 Series Case Designed for iPad Pro 11 Inch Case 2018, [for use ONLY with Smart Keyboard; Compatible with Official Smart Cover] Hybrid Protective Case with Pencil Holder, Black, 11" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PQVDHK9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_jWKPDbCKXA0K3

Option 2: SWITCHEASY 2018 iPad Pro 11 Protective Cover, CoverBuddy Case with Pencil Holder for iPad Pro 11, Compatible with Smart Keyboard Folio, Smart Folio and Apple Pencil (11 - Space Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P7L7FWR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_TXKPDbYG4T2M6

The 1st one, you’ll wont be able to remove the Smart Keyboard easily. Thus it adds more security when grabbing it from the case

On the other hand, The 2nd one, will reduce the magnets force, but it will allow you to carry the ipad around without the Smart Keyboard if needed.

Disclosure: for my use case I never was able to justify the cost of the Smart Keyboard (although I did research a lot). Finally, I got the key to go from logitech. plus a cover.

u/cjohn4043 · 2 pointsr/ipad

I have this one and it's great. Definitely a great case if you want to save some money and not fork over an arm and a leg for the Apple cases.

I went with this one by TomToc. Almost more like a slim laptop bag. It offers good protection and has soft insides but the main reason I chose it is that it has some great pockets. I want to be able to comfortably hold a charger in it as well, and many of the sleeves have little to no storags. u/Hehe_69 · 13 pointsr/ipad

iStudiez is awesome. I really don't use it to it's full capability but I can't find anything else that keeps my class schedule so neat and organized.

For the stylus, I really liked the Wacom Bamboo for iPad. The tip is supposed to be a bit smaller and it does write and move very smoothly.

Now a question. Why Notebooks for iPad? What other apps did you try? I'm just curious because I've had this on my Appshopper wishlist forever. Currently I use Notability for the same reasons you listed for liking Notebooks (formatting, bullet points) so just wondering what else in particular drew you to this app?

u/robeschi · 10 pointsr/ipad

I mostly use the Apple Pencil with Notability or LiquidText. I use Goodnotes a little. Some of my professors use Google Drive, so I need to use those apps from time to time. I also like Outlook for email, iBooks and Kindle Reader for different texts. Duet Display turns my iPad into a secondary screen for my MacBook Pro. I use Scanner Pro to turn all my syllabi and other handouts into PDFs. iStudiez Pro helps keep my schedule in order, and Quizlet helps me study. I use Affinity Photo for processing my Nikon RAW files ( I let my Adobe CC subscription lapse, I just don't find myself using my dSLR that much lately.) I also use a MIDI keyboard with Garage Band and Pro Metronome for piano practice when I don't have access to a real piano/piano lab/practice room.

I keep games and other entertainment apps off the iPad since I'm trying to study and don't want to make it any easier for me to goof off.

Case, Screen Protector, Apple Pencil sleeve, tether to keep my adapter on my cable, stand, keyboard, and holder for using my iPad as a second screen for my MacBook Pro. I also use Anker cables, charger port, and portable charger.

u/anchoriteburan · 1 pointr/ipad

I've ordered this after seeing this brand get good reviews from past iPad users who are also looking for the feel of paper.

iCarez [Anti-Glare] Matte Screen Protector for Apple 11-inch iPad Pro 11 2018 [2-Pack] Premium PET Film (Not Glass) Easy to Install with Lifetime Replacement Warranty https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GZMMYHT

This will be my first iPad and pencil combo but I've played with the pencil in stores before. The plain screen is too smooth and slick for my tastes, and I've had good matte phone screen protectors before. Hopefully it will indeed do the trick.

u/Masta_Blastah · 3 pointsr/ipad

I use my mini for almost all of my school work. For math and science classes, I'll use Penultimate and a stylus to take handwritten notes. Never had a problem, and the multitouch detection works perfectly. For regular note taking I use this keyboard and Evernote. For the lecture slides, I just save everything on Google Drive and view them in there.

Personally, I think the smaller screen is perfect for all these purposes, and I've never had any problems with it. The only downside of the smaller screen may be handwritten notes, but I feel like it helps me keep things concise.

u/PsychOfPat · 1 pointr/ipad

If you're good with a case that has no cover for the screen, here's a pretty well-reviewed clear back case:

I use the Microsoft Universal Foldable Keyboard and it has been really solid for me. Takes a bit to get used to the split keyboard design, but decent travel on keys, solid battery life, low weight, nice compact size, and my favorite part is multidevice capable for two different devices. I am not sure if they are still making them, but you can find them around if you search. Here is the amazon link:

u/fernandizzel · 2 pointsr/ipad

Haha, it's nothing special. Well, actually the price is, $20 and it has ipad specific buttons like home and brightness. I'm very happy with it. Only complaint is that it's a little louder than I'd like when typing because it's so light and plasticky.

I bought my new iPad as my macbook replacement (at least until I start grad school a year and a half from now) because it was just getting old and slow.

The ipad is much smaller and lighter, and I don't have to worry about it getting as bogged down with programs and files and my macbook used to be. I bought this keyboard case and absolutely love it. There are very few things I can't do on it that I could do on my computer, and the Pages/Numbers apps are very polished and work well enough for my current purposes.

I mainly use it for taking notes in class with Notability, and the keyboard is great for typing a lot of text when I'm not drawing charts, equations or diagrams.

Check out my post a few days ago asking about cases

http://www.reddit.com/r/ipad/comments/x4z1i/ipad_gear/

I just brought http://www.amazon.com/Kensington-KeyFolio-Removable-Keyboard-K39512US/dp/B005Y1CYSQ/ref=pd_sim_sbs_e_2 it comes in on Monday so I can tell you how it is... but looks like it has great reviews on Amazon and Newegg

u/sparksdls · 2 pointsr/ipad

They are pricey but I like the Samsung T-5 SSD:

https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-T5-Portable-SSD-MU-PA1T0B/dp/B073H552FJ

The SanDisk SSD is also a good - but also pricey - option:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078STRHBX

If price is an issue, the Western Digital Elements drive USB 3.0 spinning drive is good (2TB is only $10 more than 1TB):

>I do mostly the same on the iPad, it works mostly well except on iOS 11 you can’t use the pencil to swipe up the dock/control center which is extremely annoying.

That annoyed me too! The way I got around it is by getting this for the end of my Pencil:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XSVBSTG (FRTMA for Apple pencil cap replacement as Stylus; you have to get the black one with the silver rim; FRTMA makes another pencil cap in several colors that doesn't function as a stylus)

It's so nice to just flip over the Pencil and use it as a stylus for the full range of hand gestures, plus it feels nicer when using the on-screen keyboard than the tap-tap-tap on screen sound of the tip of the pencil. Then when I feel like actually doing handwriting, I just flip the Pencil over in my hand and use it as normal. Really love working like this.

(BTW, for artists, if you configure Procreate to use your fingertips as an eraser and the Pencil as your drawing tool, this lets you flip over the Pencil and actually use it as an eraser, like a real Pencil eraser.)

Also, I'd recommend MyScript Stylus if using the onscreen keyboard is a problem due to RSI. It's free so it's worth trying. It had some strange bugs with early versions of iOS 11 but I haven't had problems recently.

I just ordered a poetic case from AMZ, should be in today.

I have a wacom bamboo stylus. It works well and feels good in my hand. Im no art major, but I was able to draw some neat things with it like casper and this guy with it. Don't pay more than $30 for it though, I just saw they raised their prices

u/Cambo901 · 2 pointsr/ipad

Yes, it wraps around the corners of the iPad and protects the sides and edges. It’s an i-Blason case. Really neat. You can get it on their website, or on Amazon. Make sure you get the right size for the iPad depending on if it’s 11 or 12.9.

I got the Smart Keyboard as I am trying to use it as a laptop replacement-ish. But I also just picked up THIS. If Apple ever releases a 10.5" silicone back I will probably get that as well. So far on Amazon all I've seen are transparent backs (that support smart keyboard) and I would prefer something grey or black.

u/Hildingding · 1 pointr/ipad

I have a Kensington Keyfolio Pro 2 and I can see how it'd fit your needs. The keyboard is detachable, so you could just remove it and then give your son the rest of the case. The keyboard is very good, the entire design feels very solid in my opinion. If you want some pictures or a better description, let me know and I'll provide!

u/compositionnotebook1 · 1 pointr/ipad

I use the logitech k480. I like that it’s bigger, easier on my wrists. I also got the hermit shell keyboard case where I can it my iPad and my pencil in there.

So far I really like it. I’m a student too, I use it for taking notes in my reading as well as lecture notes.

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/ipad

no, like this one linked in this thread above:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007HBLX5G/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details

It's just a little thing that bothers me. Surprised it doesn't bother more people. I returned my smart cover when I learned it had to be folded so that all that nice microfiber touches whatever gross surface I have it on. Why not have the durable outer layer touch the surface? Seems to make sense, despite the downvote on my perfectly valid opinion. Oh well.

u/intr0spectivity · 1 pointr/ipad

Short answer: No.

Long answer: Maybe if you don't mind the iPad leaning further back because it's a few 0.something mm thinner.

Don't get a keyboard case. Get a dedicated slim keyboard that can pack away with a smart cover. You can get them combined for around $50 on Amazon if you search. All the first party accessories bet on the idea that people will spend a lot more than they should because the Apple brand is connected with the ideas of premium and high-end devices.

I would recommend [Anker's T320 slim keyboard] (http://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Ultra-Slim-Aluminum-Keyboard-Windows/dp/B00BKW2410) with any of the slim cover cases on Amazon.

You'll pay more for more features. An example would be the Logitech K480 keyboard that allows you to connect with three devices simultaneously (phone, iPad and laptop).

u/flosofl · 4 pointsr/ipad

I had one of those pens and used it for years until I discovered Noteshelf. It was useful in that it synched with Evernote (which I no longer use).

These are my go to applications for work now:

  • For note taking I use Noteshelf almost exclusively now.
  • PDF annotation I use Goodreader, but I'm thinking of checking out iAnnotate
  • For OCR scanning I use Scanner Pro
  • For tasks I use Do It (Tomorrow) HD
  • For simple text documents I'm still deciding between Byword and iA Writer
  • For word processing I use Pages
  • For quick white board sketches I use Adobe Autodesk SketchBook. Yeah it's overkill, but I can whip out a quick and dirty diagram on this and it's actually cheap.
  • For more formal tech diagrams I use TouchDraw

I don't know if he uses a Mac desktop or not, but if so, this is the ultimate document/information/everything management platform:

DevonThink Pro Office coupled with DevonThink To Go

For a stylus, I cannot recommend the Wacom Bamboo stylus enough. It has the right heft and weight of a premium pen and the nib glides over the screen. As a bonus the nibs are completely replaceable as they wear out. I recommend ordering the replacements from Wacom directly. While it may take longer to ship, it's only 25% the cost resellers are charging on Amazon.

I like it, though there is a fold in the middle of the keyboard and some people have a hard time with the gap (we also have one connected to our Hololens at work).

What I love about it is that it has two bluetooth profiles so I can switch between two devices seamlessly. Also, a single charge lasts forever! It's not my favorite keyboard ever, but it's amazing as a portable keyboard!

I just picked up this bad boy:

Kensington KeyFolio Pro 2 Removable Keyboard

It fits snug, has a great keyboard (that magnetizes really well), and looks really professional. It also feels really good to hold whether open or closed. My coworker saw it and wanted to buy one for his immediately.

I'd recommend it.

Just bought this one about a week ago and It's pretty solid. Paid $12. It's a really sturdy case, and seems like a quality build all around. Its also pretty sleek so you don't bulk up your iPad too much.

It uses the smart connector so it detaches and has instant connection when you reattach. It's a bit bulky but you get lit keys and a 6th command row on the keyboard. It fits perfectly with the shoulder bag too.

I bought this screen protector on a whim after seeing someone recommend it in this sub. Couldn't be more pleased with the quality and the price.

I bought Affinity Photo after seeing it in the 2017 WWDC and I'm impressed with it as well. I still use Procreate for most of my photoshopping, but Affinity is far superior for retouching photographs.

Do yourself a favor and save the $$$$.

Bought this case and liked it. The cover is a little slack for what I want, so tried the apple smart cover. No joke, it functions 100% the exact same. The apple has a little better material, but that is it. I was shocked and returned it to apple the next day. Not paying $50 for the same functionality of a $10 case...its honestly shocking apple offers that shite. Yes, its sized to work with the silicone case, but there's another $70. $120 for both, or a $10 case that will do basically all of it.

I have the Smart Keyboard and the Apple Learher case. At first I liked it but then I bought thePoetic Lumos Silicone back Cover. This combined with the Smart Keyboard gives my iPad protection and holds the pencil, making the leather case completely useless. The Poetic Lumos cover is super functional and isn't expensive.

Choose your accessories wisely. It's a shame I found the Poetic case two months after getting my iPad. I can't return it. The leather case now just sits in its box, in a drawer, doing nothing.

u/peacefulconflict · 1 pointr/ipad

Though it might not have everything you're looking for, I have been using this case since I purchased my iPad 3 in late April. For US$13, it cannot be beat. I love it, it's of pretty good quality, and I highly recommend it.

u/timconradinc · 2 pointsr/ipad

idk about 'best' but I use these. I haven't had any problems with it, but I haven't tried to remove it.

I would certainly recommend a protector of some variety with the pencil as I had some small scratches in the glass that had to have been from something on the tip.

u/JustBecameALurker · 2 pointsr/ipad

I like the Inateck keyboard case. I got it in July and it works great and I haven't even needed to charge the keyboard yet!

u/brian21 · 2 pointsr/ipad

I've got the Apple keyboard, a backing, and a non-apple stylus (I can't even read my own handwriting, so barely use it) that's around the size of an apple pencil, and they all fit perfectly.

u/codq · 1 pointr/ipad

I use and love the Poetic Lumus soft case. Mine is the transparent grey version and I could not be happier.

EDIT: lol, why on earth am I being downvoted

I have this one and it sounds similar. I've had it since the iPad 3 came out and it's held up great. Has the sleep/wake feature too which is nice, some of the lower end 3rd party cases lack that feature.

I purchased this sleeve and really enjoy it.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KHJOXOM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I do not have the same case you have but I have the Apple Smart Keyboard and I can put the iPad in there with that and there is enough room to also put the pencil in the main compartment between the iPad and the zipper. So I would think that you could probably get that case inside the sleeve even with the pencil extension.

u/skeeterou · 2 pointsr/ipad

I got this one and absolutely love it. Front and rear protection!

Right now I'm looking at: Smart Writing Tool - 7notes HD for the app and http://www.amazon.com/Bamboo-Stylus-iPad-Black-CS100K/dp/B004VM0SE6 for the stylus. Are there better picks out there?

u/shananies · 1 pointr/ipad

Yes with a nice keyboard. I prefer this one

u/ascendr · 4 pointsr/ipad

I use the Poetic Lumos case:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N4LHPZE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I chose this one because I wanted the lightest option I could find while able to use the Apple Smart Cover or Smart Keyboard, and have a spot to attach the Pencil.

u/rsplatpc · 3 pointsr/ipad

I use it for everything because it's way more precise, also for things like swiping up from the bottom you can replace the lightning connector cover with a stylus tip which makes it WAY easier to just use the pencil for everything

u/Reallytalldude · 2 pointsr/ipad

Try this one - I have it and I love it. The big round button on the left allows you to switch between three devices, so I use the same keyboard for my laptop, iPhone and iPad

This is my ipad-focused case that I keep in my backpack. It contains the following:

(1) USB C to Lightning Cable

(1) USB C to USB C Cable

(1) USB A to Lightning Cable

(1) Foldable Keyboard

(1) USB C Hub

(1) 45W USB C Power Bank & (1) 45W Wall Charger

(1) Set of Apple Airpods

(2) 128GB Flashdrives

I'm also using this case for my iPad, and this screen protector.

Hope this helps!

u/nomosecrets · 2 pointsr/ipad

I love the cases on my iPads. I love how minimal it is yet protective. (Although not super protective) I have this stand but I’d prefer this stand but I haven’t been able to talk myself into a $30 tablet stand.

u/bradleygkv · 1 pointr/ipad

I purchased this screen protector for mine. I used the same brand on my 10.5" and it felt very smooth and did a great job preventing smudges/fingerprints. It does add a grainy texture to the picture though.

2 in 1FRTMA for Apple Pencil Cap Replacement

u/smalls1652 · 3 pointsr/ipad

I use the Smart Keyboard Cover with no screen protector or case. I have like one scratch on the screen and it's hard to notice unless you actively look for it. I have a sleeve for it too.

u/PanagiotisG · 2 pointsr/ipad

This is the stylus I use. I like it because it fits in the little loop on the front of my case and it has replaceable nibs. My gf bought me one of those long Brookstone ones but I never carried it around because it didn't fit. That's probably the only reason I wouldn't consider that one. Looks nice otherwise

u/parkerlewis · 1 pointr/ipad

I've been happy with the generic AmazonBasics tablet stand for around 9 bucks.

u/tubezninja · 5 pointsr/ipad

Not really. Maybe if you jailbreak. But you're probably better off just getting a cheap Amazon Bluetooth keyboard and using that.

u/GoldenC88 · 4 pointsr/ipad

Not exactly what you have pictured, but I use one of these: Amazon Basics Tablet Stand

I tutor virtually using FaceTime and Skype, and I need very precise angles based on what I'm presenting. It can adjust angles as close as a few degrees at a time. It is very compact, portable, and inexpensive. It can hold an iPad at a vertical angle if you use a Smart Cover to counterbalance.

u/Nikontos · 7 pointsr/ipad

This one hands down. I've used it for a year and a half now with no problems. I just throw it in my school bag everyday and I've been impressed at how durable it is even though it's just plastic. It's also slightly wider than the iPad, which I like, because every other iPad keyboard or keyboard case that I've tried feels too small to type on comfortably.

Edit: I should also mention that the battery life on it is phenomenal.

u/iamelroberto · 2 pointsr/ipad

I got this one instead from Amazon (very similar, also works with the keyboard), and it works really well! Got a decal for it from decalgirl.

u/hesaidwhatupdeezus · 3 pointsr/ipad

Ah yeah, that’s the one that didn’t work for me either. I had the 1tb variation. This is what I use now. I also have a 4tb Seagate (ac power) that works as well. I’ve also heard from various reviews that the Samsung T5 works too.

u/erure · 1 pointr/ipad

I'm getting a lot of requests for the link to the antiglare screen protector I mentioned. Here's the link below :)

This one!

u/neptuneskiff · 1 pointr/ipad

I have a matte screen protector from amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GZMMYHT/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1.
The first one they sent blocked Face ID but they sent a replacement quickly once the production problem was discovered.
I love the matte feel especially while using the pencil. But there is a hit to the display quality. I’ve seen a lot of advertising for “paperlike” on YouTube videos does anyone know if that brand has been able to minimize the affect on the display.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L6B636F/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This is the one I have. It’s easy to put on and take off, and the iPad barely feels any different with it on.

u/MercurialMohawk · 2 pointsr/ipad

The three angles provided by Apple's Smart Cover have always proven ample for me when using the iPad in landscape. You might also check out those foldable portable stands along the lines of this

(although that particular stand may not work w the Pro)

u/sudo_dionysius · 2 pointsr/ipad

I bought this case to carry everything in: iPad Pro with smart keyboard and khomo back cover, and I keep the pencil in the front zippered pocket along with earpods.

u/wintersofgames · 1 pointr/ipad

I’m more afraid of accidentally leaving mine somewhere than carrying it around with me. I have the Smart Keyboard and [this case] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PQVDHK9). Those two together and the padded sleeve in my backpack make me feel very secure.

u/Le_Groundhog · 1 pointr/ipad

I got this one for my 11 pro https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KHJOXOM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

There's a very soft material inside of it. In addition, the pockets fit my charger and extra cables.

u/funkstick · 1 pointr/ipad

I'm really happy with this one: http://www.amazon.com/Poetic-HardBack-Protective-Built-Folding/dp/B007HBLX5G

Only downside is that it doesn't quite fold flat to the back and/or snap in there. But it has many viewing angles, more flexibility that the smart case alone, is very thin and has a semi-hard back but still exposes some of the bezel.

u/ItsOKIamADoctor · 3 pointsr/ipad

I have this one. Works fine, looks fine, and is super cheap.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/MoKo-Lightweight-Smart-shell-Translucent-Protector/dp/B0158AZOHU.
If I am understanding your question, it covers the keyboard attaching bit when the cover is closed, but I suppose it does expose it when the cover is folded back.

Interesting in buying a 2019 iPad Air, and wondering if it's compatible with all 10.5 iPad Pro accessories?

In specific wanted this keyboard: https://www.amazon.ca/Logitech-Detachable-Keyboard-Connector-920-008420/dp/B0753223KN/, but it says it's only for the 10.5 iPad Pro. Meanwhile the Logitech website has a similar item that says for the new iPad Air and 10.5 Pro, but has a different SKU.

u/filchermcurr · 1 pointr/ipad

I've been using this one with this back on it and it fits just fine. I stick the pencil in the front pocket (well... it's also in this because I have a 'buy all the cheapish things' problem). So far everything is hunky-dory.

I recommend the Microsoft Universal Mobile Keyboard.

A large number of them have been DOA as of late, though, so you might need to go through a few returns to get one that works. Once you have one, though, you won't regret it. I haven't used it long enough to confirm the 6-month battery life claim, but I haven't charged it once since I got it in February.

I have the Apple keyboard for work, but can't spend that much scratch on an iPad keyboard.

This one has the same functionality, plus a physical on/off switch. No lag between button press and characters appearing, unlike some other budget models. The build quality is mad sturdy and it is super cheap. I highly recommend it.

edit: not a case. It's a keyboard.
