Looking at your budget you will have no trouble finding a very good laptop on the market. I would advise you to pick these laptops up online on either their respecive retail websites, amazon.com, or newegg.com if you want to get the better deal. But other than that, I would think that your best all around option would be the xps 15, found here: http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/productdetails/xps-15-9560-laptop?view=configurations , which starts at 999 but goes up to something like 1900 if you go with the i7 version, you should be able to play around with the configuration. It has a great battery, relatively light, can be configured with a gtx 1050, and doesn't look like a gaming laptop with the loud colors.
Gigabyte Aero 14:
Another recommendation that is at the top of your price range but has top tier performance, a great battery, is lightweight for its size, and doesn't go crazy with a gamer vibe would be the gigabyte aero 14, found here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=34-233-191R (is an open box). Other than that, the laptop can and will be able to play anything you would throw at it at ultra settings in 1080p; the laptop also has a massive battery that can last for nearly ten hours non-gaming. Great laptop for the higher end of your budget.
Alienware 13:
The last reccomendation I have is much more gamer heavy than the previous two and has a smaller screen, is thicker and heavier, but built like a tank. If you want a strong feeling laptop that has a gamer look the alienware 13 is a good choice, found here (sorry for the length): http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/productdetails/alienware-13-laptop/dkcwkble1s?ref=287_customize&dgc=ba&dgseg=dhs&cid=235789&lid=27867&ACD=123092357892786720c101671614&VEN3=271303854282091772&selectionState=eyJGUHJpY2UiOjE0NDkuOTksIk9DIjoiZGtjd2tibGUxcyIsIlF0eSI6MSwiTW9kcyI6W3siSWQiOjE0NiwiT3B0cyI6W3siSWQiOiI1TlZXR1kifV19LHsiSWQiOjYsIk9wdHMiOlt7IklkIjoiMTA1MFRJMiIsIlByaWNlIjo1MC4wfV19LHsiSWQiOjc2MCwiT3B0cyI6W3siSWQiOiJGSERLQkwiLCJQcmljZSI6MTAwLjB9XX0seyJJZCI6MywiT3B0cyI6W3siSWQiOiIxNkcyNDAwIiwiUHJpY2UiOjIwMC4wfV19LHsiSWQiOjgsIk9wdHMiOlt7IklkIjoiMjU2U1NEIiwiUHJpY2UiOjIwMC4wfV19LHsiSWQiOjEwMTUsIk9wdHMiOlt7IklkIjoiMTgwVzNQIn1dfV19 . The cost of the device to have the better graphics card, better processor, and better storage brings it up to around 1400 or so dollars for the laptop. If you want the bigger brother, the alienware 15, with the gtx 1060 and gamer look, it can be found for around 1550 after configuring here: http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/productdetails/alienware-15-laptop/dkcwkblf011ss?selectionState=eyJGUHJpY2UiOjE1MjQuOTksIk9DIjoiZGtjd2tibGYwMTFzcyIsIlF0eSI6MSwiTW9kcyI6W3siSWQiOjE0NiwiT3B0cyI6W3siSWQiOiI1OVg1OE0ifV19LHsiSWQiOjYsIk9wdHMiOlt7IklkIjoiR1RYMTA2MCIsIlByaWNlIjoyMDAuMH1dfSx7IklkIjo4LCJPcHRzIjpbeyJJZCI6IjEyODFUQiIsIlByaWNlIjoxNzUuMH1dfSx7IklkIjoxMTIsIk9wdHMiOlt7IklkIjoiNkMiLCJQcmljZSI6NTAuMH1dfV19
Here are a few cheaper options for you to take a look at.
Lenovo legion Y520 (867$, cheap gaming laptop): https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06WVMJ713/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1500605872&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=lenovo+legion+y520&dpPl=1&dpID=413psh%2BrxKL&ref=plSrch
Dell inspiron 7000 (930$, good overall laptop (uses integrated graphics)): https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B071ZQSSBV/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1500606320&sr=8-1-spons&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=dell+inspiron+7000&psc=1&smid=A3JS2199GQLB8L
LG Gram (1118$, great ultraportable): https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01N22876J/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1500606440&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=lg%2Bgram%2B15&dpPl=1&dpID=51ShG8wY9tL&ref=plSrch&th=1&psc=1
You have a huge number of options depending on what you are really looking for. Specs to look for would probably be an i7 processor, 8GB or more RAM, and an excellent, dedicated graphics card if you work with 3D imaging, or a normal, integrated graphics card if you just work with normal images. You can also decide between a SSD, a HDD, or both. I would recommend an SSD unless you need 1TB of storage space and don't want to use an external hard drive.
You also should look for something with a good IPS screen, and likely 15 inch screen rather than just 13 since you don't seem to mind poor portability and weight.
I can give a few recommendations in a bit
Ok recommendations.
If you really want to budget, you could get away completely fine with a refurbished HP Pavilion for just $620. This would be good if you want to save money, don't do 3D graphics rendering, and are fine with an HDD instead of an SSD.
If you want really good value, and are fine with a 'gamer looking' laptop, an MSI GL62 would be a good pick for $900. It would have basically everything you need. Especially good if you do 3D graphics with the 960M.
I can offer more options if you want. Just let me know what you are looking for based on what I've offered, and what you want different.
Also, if you want another Zenbook and are fine with a 13 inch screen, the Zenbook 303UB is a great choice for $1180. Would be extremely portable.
https://www.amazon.com/Dell-XPS9560-5000SLV-PUS-Display-Aluminum-Chassis/dp/B01N2RLP5M/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1536109409&sr=1-3&keywords=xps+15
I found this really good deal for an xps 15 9560. It has a 4k screen and a dedicated graphics card in case you want to play games or do video editing. If the offer ends, then you should probably pick up and xps 15 8th gen cpu because the quad cores on the 8th gen cpus are really good for multi tasking. The starting price for xps 15 laptops is $1000 but they're one of the most portable laptops (4lbs or ~1.8kg) and have one of the best build quality out of all the windows laptops.
I also heard the Huawei Matebook is also really good. I don't have one but the reviews are all positive and the screen is 3:2 which makes it really good for web browsing and word. They also start at $1000. Apparently the screen is gorgeous. It's basically a mac that has windows.
These laptops come with windows 10 home but on Dell's website you can upgrade the xps to windows pro for $60

There are probably a lot of other good options but there isn't that many options under $1000 that are portable.

I can't tell you about GTA V as I've been waiting for the price to drop some more, but modded Skyrim runs like a damn champ on my GTX 965m. I have a G751JL with an i7-4720HQ, 16 GB of RAM, 1 TB HDD with a second hard drive slot, and a GTX 965m. I paid $1200 which I regret mostly because the GTX 970m, which is advertised as 65% more powerful than the 965m and at the time $1500, dropped down to $1200 (and my model to $1100) when the new G752s came out. But tech gets cheaper every day so I try not to get too riled up about it. So I'd recommend the G751 with the GTX 970m (not sure if this is the exact version I was looking at) if you got the $1200.
Now, it is a huge laptop thanks to the fans. Regular 17.3" bags won't fit it. I had to buy a $160 Everki Titan bag for 18.1" laptops which I love. As for the laptop itself, it's very fast (especially for an HDD), runs dead silent thanks to the fan, and never gets hot. I did accidentally leave it in my backpack twice running when I thought it was off (I'd have it in the backpack charging because I was afraid of my cats fucking with it) and it was fucking HOT. Like scolding burn your hand hot. But it still works, though I don't know how long of a life it has now. I definitely give it more care now.
I went with ASUS because my HP that I got in 2011 had 3 or 4 major issues over the past 4 years while my girlfriend's ASUS that she got also in 2011, had no major issues except a bad battery which can easily be replaced.
P.S. Just checked, my [G751JL with the GTX 965m]https://www.amazon.com/G751JL-17-Inch-Gaming-Laptop-model/dp/B015QZV9H6/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1468932347&sr=1-1&keywords=g751+965m) is on Amazon now for only $1000.
Not the cheapest but the built quality is good for the price: Asus F556UA.
You would have to wait at least one year for the 8th generation. Also the 7th generation is not the "same" just because the manufacturing process has the same denomination of 14nm. There is more to it than feature width of transistors.
In this case the Kaby lake processors had some energy efficiency optimization and frequency upgrades. And from benchmarks you can see that the benefits of optimization of the 7th generation can even be higher than process and transistors count changes from previous generations. I don't think you can expect better performance improvements with Cannonlake.
Of course if you take into consideration only desktop Kabylake processors these benefits do no sound as enthusiastic since heat dissipation is not as critical of a problem as in mobile CPUs.
I have been using laptops with both Skylake and Kabylake processors and i can tell for sure the latter has longer battery duration and cooler temperatures.
Sharpness aside, the FHD is IPS but has noticeably lower color gamut / saturation than the macs. The UHD has higher gamut / saturation than the macs (and is true 3840x2160, not PenTile like those pesky Clevo "4K QFHD" displays in Clevo's current 15.6" options, regarded deceptive marketing), though you do have to use workarounds to force certain software (like Adobe!) to scale up their UI. Definitely higher than 80% NTSC I think, don't know the exact number.
You can also DIY replace the 45% NTSC FHD display with an AUO B156HAN01.2 for $70 or LG LP156WF6-SPB1 for like $50. Both 72% NTSC FHD and high sRGB, as well as higher contrast and max brightness. I'll edit with links when I'm back on. EDIT:
If you go into a retail store like Best Buy, the HP Omen 15t display is similar to the stock FHD, the ASUS GL502VM/VS is similar to the replacement FHD panels, and the XPS 15 UHD is like the UHD option but glossy. Higher color gamut than the Yoga 720 UHD, for example (which is also true 3840x2160 not PenTile), which is already 72% NTSC.
Within your limited budget I recommend the following Dell Inspiron 5575 which has a Ryzen 5 2500u APU, 1080p screen, 1TB hard drive and 4GB of RAM for $469.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Dell-Inspiron-15-5000-5575-Laptop-15-6-AMD-Ryzen-5-2500U-with-Radeon-Vega8-Graphics-1TB-HDD-4GB-RAM-i5575-A410BLU-PUS/212669685

Overall, it is a pretty good deal, the Radeon RX Vega 8 integrated graphics core is roughly 2x more powerful than the Intel UHD 620 graphics core found in most laptops with an 8th generation Core i3, i5, i7 CPU. That puts it roughly at about ballpark performance of the nVidia 930m. Not great compared to even an entry level dedicated GPU, but certainly pretty good since it is integrated graphics.
However, what is not so good is the laptop only has 4GB of RAM which is pretty limiting especially when it comes to modern games. I recommend you purchase the following 4GB stick of RAM from Amazon for $35. Walmart has extremely limited RAM choices and a pretty bad search engine as well.

https://www.amazon.com/Crucial-Single-PC4-19200-SODIMM-260-Pin/dp/B01N79H5HV/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1541436009&sr=8-3&keywords=4gb+ddr4+sodimm&dpID=51esjcOy79L&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

Also, 2 sticks of RAM means the RAM will operating at full speed (dual channel) rather than half speed (single channel). That can improve game performance by roughly 10% to 20% depending on the specific game. The Vega 8 integrated graphic is roughly similar in performance to the nVidia 930m, but that assumes there are two sticks of RAM.
It's a great panel, 1440p, bright and colourful. The latency is noticeably better than the XPS 15, so games not only look sharper from the higher res but also smoother. The XPS panel does have noticeable ghosting, some people can live with it some can't. If it was a 15" screen I would have been happy with it.
Gigabyte has since released an aero 15, which in theory solves that problem, with a nice 15" screen. I still ended up picking up an XPS mostly because I prefer the keyboard/touchpad, and also I actually find the 1050 a nice card for mobile on-my-lap gaming. I'll probably look at selling my Aero 14. Since the XPS is less powerful I can game a bit longer and it doesn't heat up as much meaning I can play on my lap comfortably without a cooler.
Looks like amazon has the Aero 14" for $1700, and the 15" for $1900. These specs include a 512 ssd and 16GB ram. I think the ssd's are SATA though, (still m2) iirc. Also the 15" has a 2nd m2 slot, so that's nice. The Aero 14 used to in the previous model but they ditched it in the current model.
Don't buy the linked ASUS laptop. It uses an older generation graphics card and processor which are significantly inferior to their modern counterparts. For example, take https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-Inspiron-15-6-Full-HD-IPS-Gaming-Notebook-Intel-Core-i5-7300HQ-2-50GHz-/372243943065?hash=item56ab77ce99. It has a better processor, a way better graphics card, a PCIe NVME SSD compared to a HDD, DDR4 RAM over DDR3, and is $110 cheaper ($170 cheaper if you count ebay bucks). Does only have 250 GB storage, but it's easy enough to install a 7200 RPM 1 TB hard drive for around $50.
It really depends on what your needs are. Based on the information you provided, the laptop I linked seems way overkill. Unless you're doing heavy gaming/video editing, you don't really need a good laptop. Popular games will all run smoothly on a GTX 1050 (except maybe pubg).
Almost every gaming laptop in your price range is going to look bulky (fails your small model requirement), and non gaming laptops won't run games smoothly. As for fan noise, check youtube reviews for the laptop before buying.
If you value form factor and weight and don't mind shelling out extra, the Dell XPS or Microsoft Surface Book laptops are a possibility. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N2RLP5M is a recently discounted $1200 Dell XPS that can pretty much play any popular game smoothly. These types of laptops have significantly worse specs than equally priced counterparts, but they look beautiful.
Here's the cheapest GTX 1060 laptop currently on Amazon... It's $1065 right now, but it also only has an i5 7300HQ and 8gb of RAM (the other option had 16gb and an i7 7700HQ). It's also 5.8lbs, and I don't know about you, but I wouldn't call that "light".
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0764HW117/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1509979426&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=gtx+1060+laptop+dell&dpPl=1&dpID=412Q0LFcTBL&ref=plSrch
Decent gamig laptop prices have definitely jumped. About a year ago you could get a few GTX 1060/7700HQ laptops for $900-$950. Now it seems like most of them have all jumped to $1200+.
If you're prepared to play games at minimum settings, A GTX 1050 and 1050 TI would serve your purposes very well. I would browse around on Amazon for a 1050 TI laptop for $700-$800. I have seen a few.
Sorry about the price change! It was definitely $1049 yesterday, haha.
Yeah I was considering a Mac book pro if I got a Mac.... but I’ve got a few gaming laptops in mind, but can’t decide.

These are my considerations... I just can’t pick one lol any help would be appreciated.
Yes its a NVME...from what Ive seen its a pretty decent one. Not as fast as a Samsung 970...but its better than a cheap one. My experience with NVME is the larger the capacity the faster they are. Because they can dedicate more cache space. There are some very interesting vids on how they work and store data. Its not like anything else.
Since there is a 2nd slot you can add more space down the road. There are also USB 3.0 enclosures for the NVME drives, so you can get a super small 1-2 TB external thats very fast.
I have this enclosure - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MLJ7FRD/
and this drive - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07J2Q4SWZ
Im super impressed using it as an external.

Last gen XPS 15 should be plenty powerful enough for your needs and have great build quality. A little over budget but this one comes with some great features including that gourgus 4k screen. There's no numberpad though, something to consider if you deal with Excel all day.
Here is a great deal on the Lenovo ThinkPad E580 20KS003SUS 15.6" LCD Notebook - Intel Core i5 (8th Gen) i5-8250U Quad-core (4 Core) 1.60 GHz - 8 GB DDR4 SDRAM - 256 GB SSD - Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (English) - 1920 x 1080 - In-plane Switching (IPS) Technology - Black , https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=34-850-597
I found.
Here's another one, not as fancy but looks to be a good work machine. It has a number pad but no backlight on the keyboard.
According to this review, the fan is quiet even gaming.
If you want a beast yet nice laptop, maybe this is better. Great build quality over here, for sure.
This one is good also, but I prefer Dell's.
That being said, if you don't want hardcore ultra graphics in new games, the ultrabook from Asus is easily one of the best options, as well as a HP Envy 13 with MX150 (not available right now as far as I can see, but you can see specs here).
They provided to reason at all. Even after I pressed them.
Amazon would be a great option but I dont think they have any of the i7 models in stock.
Edit: hang on looks like you can go here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CTHN94Z/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and then select amazon shipping on the side and its actually cheaper and fulfilled by amazon. I dont know why it isnt defaulting to that but I just ordered one.
Thanks!
Oh, ok, cool. Then you shouldn't have too much trouble.

Portability + power is a bit of an issue. That said, here are some sub-$1500 suggestions from Amazon:
It is the best 1060 laptop on the market right now if you do not care about weight (it weighs about 5.9lbs). Although I think the graphic design laptop comes with a bit better display then this model https://www.amazon.com/Eluktronics-P650HP6-Premium-Gaming-Laptop/dp/B01MT7P0QJ/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1501935194&sr=1-1&keywords=p650hp6 which that model has higher storage. Not sure, I would call Eluktronics to clarify that.
Otherwise, Eluktronics is a very good company to deal with and their support reps are based from US so you'll have a great experience.
Since your budget might be decent, maybe something like this. One caveat is that it looks a tad gamer-y. Another would be the K501LX.This one will have less CPU and GPU grunt, but it's not a slouch. Lastly, this one might suit you. The Lenovo IdeaPad 700. Seems like a good system to me.
All of these models are a strong 900p performers. and as for 1080p gaming, you can, to a certain extent.
Those three suggestions are good, though I will say that both Dell and Razer are famous for awful customer support. The 9560 is an incredible device, if you get one that works. If you're doing Tensor Flow, OpenCV, and AAA titles, I'd suggest a 1060 laptop. There is the Aorus X3 Plus v7 and Gigabyte Aero 14 that are both good.
Build quality from best to least would go: Razer > Aorus > Gigabyte
But of course you have to take into consideration price and spec differences as well. If you are willing to take the risk of possibly going through a frustrating customer support adventure, and are willing to pay the Razer premium, the blade is going to be your best bet for build quality.

Hello, for a budget gaming laptop, I will recommend you to start with the Y520 but unfortunately it is above your budget. It is a pretty decent gaming laptop. Here's one review take a look and decide if it is worth the money. Anything lower than this, may not be about the support your games smoothly. Good luck!
That explains it quite well, just not even remotely close to knowledge in the technology and electronics section of anything at all. Seems like I've decided to solidify a choice in snatching possibly this. Your help is appreciated :)
I also have this laptop and feel it's a great buy for those who don't want to spend $2k+ on an XPS 15 or MacBook Pro (which are good products but just pricey). If you are looking for a smaller laptop, you won't get something as fast in a relatively thin package. This is the Zenbook Pro's smaller brother the Asus UX303. ASUS ZenBook UX303UB 13.3-Inch QHD+ Touchscreen Laptop, Intel Core i7, 12 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, Discrete GPU Nvidia GT940M, Windows 10 (64 bit) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014VHVZFQ/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_s0hDxb9PTKCY3 it's solid but doesn't have a type c port. Otherwise it's a great laptop.
So the Eluktronics brand are based on clevo/sager laptop builds. So don't feel like you have to go with that brand. Because of that, they are usually pretty easy to upgrade (once you get all the damn screws out).
So the first link has a 1050ti; again I would go with the 1060 because it's a huge step forward. The 2nd has the 1050ti as well but paired with a 4k screen. I am really against 4k screens on laptops, the pixel to screen ratio just doesn't make sense (you can always connect a bigger 4k screen when your working).
I would recommend getting this to one at the bottom of my post if you are willing to go up to 1500. 512 ssd is going to hold you up just fine and you can always add a 2nd hard drive later. BUT if you end up going with this, call the company directly and haggle with them. Buying directly from them will probably save you a bit of cash.

A used version of that would not do you wrong as long as you are comfortable sending it back if it gives you any problems.
PUBG is a special case where it is a huuuge hog of resources and demands a very good monitor to spot people behind trees. Consider building a PC at the "superb" or "excellent" level at http://www.logicalincrements.com which after a monitor you'll be sitting at around $1000-1400.
I'm sure you want a gaming Laptop for a reason though, so acer predator 15 with th GTX 1060 deals with heat well with a $1400 tag

Thank you for your time.
I'd go with the first option there, and if the 1tb HDD seems slow you can easily swap it out yourself with a SSD for much cheaper than the second option, such as this one:
https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-500GB-Internal-MZ-76E500B-AM/dp/B0781Z7Y3S
The rest seem to be a worse value imo.
Feel free to ask more questions, I enjoy helping others!
Glad you like it.
I would configure it with 8GB of RAM. You can also get it with a 256GB SSD if you like, though by then, I would say this is also a good option.
If you are returning it, have a look at this laptop it is also 400 dollar. It is a bit short on storage, but if you are just planning to use it for content cunsuming, word and work mostly in the cloud it should do the job.
https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VivoBook-i3-8145U-Windows-F512FA-AB34/dp/B07RK5M35T/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=laptop+400+dollars&qid=1570962262&sr=8-6
If you have the monney to step up to a 500 dollar budged you have a mutch wider range of laptops to chose from.
This is a accepteble laptop for 500 dollar. https://www.amazon.com/Acer-i5-8265U-Keyboard-Fingerprint-A515-54-51DJ/dp/B07RF2123Z/ref=sr_1_17?keywords=laptop+500+dollar&qid=1570962516&sr=8-17
If you have 550 dollars, want touchscreen and pen support, this is a verry good option.

I've also been asking around on other forums and some people have recommended me something like the [VX 15] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01N11JKA3/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1493652389&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=acer+vx15&dpPl=1&dpID=51LptbJAClL&ref=plSrch) and it looks really really good, and new, for the price. Might anyone have any input on if this is overkill or like if its cheap or something?
Oh wow didn't know these were an option. Not too bad of a price. Are there similar options for a couple hundred less? Maybe with the 960m?
EDIT: Maybe this would be a good option?
This one is a favorite on the sub and is pretty nice - you can also take the extra 200 bucks and add more RAM or a second drive if you want. MX150 should be able to handle new stuff on medium today without issue.
Hello Mate,

https://www.amazon.com/Acer-NH-Q2QAA-012-i5-7300HQ-GeForce-AN515-51-53W5/dp/B073PXNPG7/
And I plan to replace the 2.5" 1TB HDD with a 2.5" 2TB like this one:
https://www.newegg.com/seagate-firecuda-2tb-st2000lx001/p/N82E16822179110
Note: I don't think that I need a SSHD. A HHD is probably fine. I just chose this one because it said "Free Shipping" and I don't know what "Special Shipping" on the Newegg website means. I plan to look on Amazon later for a similar HHD/SSHD, because I prefer purchasing things on Amazon.
I don't think that there are any 3TB or 4TB HDDs that I can use, because this laptop's 1TB HDD is 7mm thick and so far all the 3TB and 4TB HDDs that I saw are 15mm thick. They do have 7mm SSDs but I don't want to use a SDD for anything other than the operating system and a few utilities that I use (the laptop I am interested in has both a SSD and HDD) and a 4TB SDD probably costs around $600 (way too expensive).
If I had that budget, I'd start my search with an Alienware 17 laptop. It's a pure gaming laptop and people have said you can get a GTX 1080 in it. There's also the graphics amplifier that you can get a few years down the road when the 1080 doesn't cut it anymore. For a few hundred dollars more, you can buy the amplifier and any desktop GPU and plug it into your laptop for even better performance.
Otherwise, like you said, check out Sager's laptops, MSi GT73VR, or even EVGA's own laptop.
Those are all 17 inch laptops. If you want a smaller, and lighter laptop, check out the Alienware 15, Asus ROG Strix GL502VS, MSI GT62VR, or an Acer Predator 15 laptop.
There's also System76's Oryx Pro if you want to try Linux instead of Windows.
The 6500U is better than what you'd be able to achieve on a $600 budget, though not by much.
Checking Amazon with a $750 budget, there's this laptop. The 7200U has similar performance to a 6500U due to having similar clock rates, but it has better integrated graphics and the laptop has an SSD.
The ROG is the one I would reccomend, the GPU should be about even to the GTX 760.
I use the Anker 10-USB hub and it works perfectly fine for me.
surface book and macbook pro are outside of your price range, unless you want to buy and older model.
I think the 2in1 is a bit dicey, and not very usable as a 15-inch
Matebook x pro is probably your best bet - this skew for an i7, 16gb ram and 512gb ssd is about $1580
https://www.amazon.com/Huawei-MateBook-Signature-i7-8550U-GeForce/dp/B07CTHN94Z/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1540323846&sr=1-2&keywords=matebook+x+pro
if you can go a bit above budget, i would recommend this: https://www.amazon.com/ZenBook-UX303UB-13-3-Inch-Touchscreen-Discrete/dp/B014VHVZFQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1466641363&sr=1-1&keywords=asus+zenbook&refinements=p_n_feature_two_browse-bin%3A562241011%2Cp_n_size_browse-bin%3A3545275011
generally, ive found that asus laptops are quite reliable, and if this is a bit too pricey, you can just get a different asus model :)
Considering how cheap SSDs are now, I'd do that first. You'll notice a huuuge difference, even if your old HDD was at its best.
I replaced the HDD in my 9 year old laptop and it takes just 30 seconds to restart and boot back up into Windows 10 now. My PC at work has similar specs to your laptop and gave it the same treatment.
Welcome! I could have gotten a bad unit, but it was enough of a bad experience for me to go back to a more reputable brand (in my experience). Also, the keyboard was a little loud to type on.
If you're curious this is what I ended up getting and I love it. I'd prefer a matte screen to prevent glare, but the touch screen does come in handy sometimes.
I just bought the ASUS UX303UB for grad school this fall and I love it. It was about $1200 USD but they also have the UX303UA which is cheaper. The UA has an i5, 256 SSD, and 8 GB RAM while the UB has an i7, 512 SSD, and 12 GB RAM. I can handle most games on mine but I'm not sure about the UA. If it's not heavy gaming, I think you will be fine. Both are 13.3 inches and lightweight.
