Hey. See here for a tweet demonstrating how awesome Nintendo Switch travel cases can be at protecting your Planck.

edit here’s an Amazon link to what is likely the one pictured based on Hori Co Ltd tag. Plenty others to choose from :)

edit edit I’m expecting one of these and will share my thoughts once delivered.

update it wasn’t as pictured and is too low profile for the hi-pro Planck and sufficiently tight at the corners with a hi-pro milled bottom that scuffing would likely be an issue.

I used these and these and both worked perfectly. They will stick out above the rest of the row unless you have an SA row 1 profile. This is what the brass one looks like.

if you are talking about the top one i think i saw a pretty similar one in amazon for 30 bucks

https://www.amazon.de/dp/B07QHRNRGR/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=ortholinear&qid=1573642411&sr=8-1 idk if it is the same one but hey it is pretty similar

FWIW, I use this thing to reset Pro Micros.

https://www.amazon.com/Hakko-7A-SA-Stainless-Non-Magnetic-Heavy-Duty/dp/B00FZPFF96?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

It's not what bought it for, but works perfectly for shorting RST and GND on Pro Micros.

I bought the greeen lens colored ones here https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01C5HL0PO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_uGOUzb3PT6PTV The green colored lens is rated 2.3 V and the clear one is rated 3.1 V so i ordered the clear one, and waiting for them.

The green lenses looked really pretty with kaihua golds, but the light was so faint, that yau couldnt see the green at all with the keycaps. I tried with a couple other leds (white, orange, blue lens) that i have of the same brand and they shine just ok.

Tried adding the console enable and it seems to behaving the same.
Here's the pastebin's of my files
config
rules
keymap
To clarify, I'm running 5+5, they are communicating via the TRRS well (colors sync etc), sat/hue/toggle/brightness are all working, just the animations are not working
I bought these W2812s
Really appreciate all your help (sorry I wasnt able to figure out github just yet, hence the pastebin)

And because /u/woodkeys_click asked in the r/mk post, the case is a Caseling Hard Case for Stethoscope. It's funny how perfectly it fits the acrylic sandwich cased Let's Split.

If you've got a nice hefty budget, if recommend a Hakko soldering iron. If you wanna go cheap, make sure you get one with a temperature control. [Here] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01H1IFT54/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_YA2CzbK19K8S7) is a cheap one that would do the job. I've used that model to build two let's splits. Go to YouTube and watch some "how to solder" videos

The cutout on the bottom part, that the Pro Micro's don't have.

If you notice on the more grey side, it has a big solder pad? Yeah, that's one side of it.

Then you use a speaker like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LQP9XT2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

(which is what the planck uses, actually)

Also, you can try Kynar wire 30 AWG. It works great. Optional, but well worth it, is 10mm x 1mm White Double Sided Self Adhesive Sponge Foam Tape. That will insulate the strip from the PCB. As long as it 10mm it will work. You can search for other deals if you want.

u/robsonj · 2 pointsr/olkb

That looks like a lot of solder from the picture. Maybe try ordering one of these, I found it to work better than a solder sucker...

u/jackhumbert · 1 pointr/olkb

I get these, but there are better ones! Namely anything with 3M on them.

u/ygecko · 2 pointsr/olkb

I used a pair of cutters from this amazon link.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FZPDG1K/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They work great for flush trimming stuff.
I think I saw some of those at home depot last week if you are in the US and are near one of those...

Yeah I think my Pro Micro is busted. Literally everything I've looked up has said that it should be detected by windows. I've also tried on a linux laptop but it didn't seem to work either. Any tips on going about replacing it? Do I need to buy a specific pro micro or can I just buy one that looks similar enough? I could get something like this on amazon prime and not have to wait ages for shipping.

Sadly I'll have to desolder everything in order to replace it Q~Q

> Arduino Pro Micro

So you are saying this would work just fine?
