I'm a new player who's been at it for a couple of days now. It's a bunch of fun and I feel like I'm doing well so far but I'm starting to notice an increase in difficulty towards the 2.5 star range. It's fun though so all is good and well, it'd be boring otherwise. Except the part where 80% of the anime openings start to sound the same which is kinda obnoxious but w/e.

I'm currently using my mouse over my tablet as I found it more comfortable, however I'm not sure if I'm not stifling my progress by doing so. I own a Wacom Intuos M, meaning that it might be too big all things considered. Making the tablet area smaller is an option of course, but it feels kinda awkward. What kind of size would you want that area to be for Osu? I assume it's preference for most, but I figure you wouldn't want to have to move your wrist too far over the tablet.

as a person who's used them for a couple years now, i only have to replace them every few months if even

as long as youre not using it like a box cutter it should last a pretty decent time and a pack of 5 nibs is like $7, and the surface is pretty smooth against plastic nibs and gets a fair amount of friction after you wear down the nib a bit, a cover isn't necessary for good drag

the pen (LP-181?) is pretty nice and light, but for some reason the pcb in mine got loose and i bought the pen for the 470 (LP-171) and it works just about as well, even if its slightly heavier and longer

buying used isn't usually a problem, and you can only buy it used anymore anyway

between the options you talked about, i would say its a pretty equal toss-up between them all, the biggest difference for me is just surface material

Yes, they both are on amazon.fr
( GK64 / 61 :https://www.amazon.fr/Pilote-ind%C3%A9pendant-Filaire-Tyce-C-Wired/dp/B07T9WC8BF/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=gk64&qid=1566632037&s=gateway&sr=8-3&th=1&psc=1 //
GMMK : https://www.amazon.fr/Glorious-Gaming-Race-GMMK-RGB-0857372006358/dp/B01MXUL6D3/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=gmmk&qid=1566632130&s=gateway&sr=8-3
I really prefer the gmmk design, but it his twice as expensive as the gk64, and it also has 25 dollars of shipping, where the gk64 is free shipping.. So the price would be : GMMK : 90€ // GK64 : 36€ )
. Also, are the gateron red switches loud compared to speed ones ? Because it is also a fact that I need to take care of :p

If you wan't to try tablet, this is pretty much the same as the osu tablet.

For the mouse, i like heavy palm grip mice, so i went for a roccat kone+.
A friend of mine who use claw grip has this mouse that he really likes. It's quite fancy though.

I have a collection of switches and have been building keyboards for a while now. It depends on what you want or like.

There are a few things to be aware of. There are bascially 3 different types of switches: Clicky vs Tactile vs Linear.

Clicky: make an audible click sound that can be louder or quieter depending on your preference.

Tactile: have a bump in the stem so you feel when the switch presses the key rather than the noise from the click or the feel of hitting the bottom of the keyboard

Linear: These have no click or bump they just slide down.

If you are getting a board just to play osu mx blues or Kali box whites (if you can find them) are really nice and satisfying to use. But if you live at home or have to share your PC space these switches can really annoy people around you. MX reds are nice light switches and are linear but other than gaming they can be ass to type on. (if you do coading or writing on the side they may not be a good choice).

Speed switches are switches that trigger much faster than others. I have some but not in a keyboard they don't feel too bad on their own. People who have used them have told me they are ass to use but that's about all I have on those switches.

Gamers tend to go for light switches while users such as myself tend to use heavier tactile switches.

I recommend getting something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Cherry-Zealio-Purple-Switches-Testing/dp/B073SQL7XM/ref=sr_1_5?crid=DXA52AAEO9MS&keywords=cherry+switch+tester&qid=1567533233&s=gateway&sprefix=cherry+switch+te%2Caps%2C218&sr=8-5

and seeing what you like the feel of best

I'll get working on a guide. In the mean time, feel free to order the equipment needed:

  1. Polar T31 Coded belt: http://www.amazon.com/Polar-T31-Coded-Transmitter-Belt/dp/B000ARDPPU/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1408060881&sr=8-7&

  2. SparkFun SEN-08661 Heart Rate Monitor Interface card: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/8661

All up it costs around $100 USD brand new. I got the belt second-hand from eBay for $5. There may be cheaper solutions, but I've found this one incredibly reliably so far.

As for actually hooking it up to display the heart BPM in OBS, I'll put the code + instructions on Github.

Although this does nothing for finger control, it's amazing for finger strength. Search online for recommended rep/set exercise routines. After using this for a few weeks, I feel that I can stream for longer without failing due to stamina.

A fair warning: If you exercise with this, don't play osu! for around ~12 hours because your fingers will be completely done after using this. It's better to use it before you go to bed.

It's really not a preference, reminding everybody about the fact that I can guess that at least 80% of Osu! players less than rank 1k use mechanicals. I'm 6.8k and have used one since 30k so it helps. It really does help you improve, playing on rubber dome when you start to learn high streams and a lot faster BPM's forces you to press harder, which is a bad habit if you plan on using mechanicals. I use [CM Storm Quickfire Stealth Cherry MX Red Keys] (http://www.amazon.com/CM-Storm-QuickFire-Stealth-Mechanical/dp/B00CKJ2HJ6) and it was well worth the buy. Hope I could help.

The gk61 you linked is JUST pcb, without a case. Gateron reds are louder than silvers. Gateron clears are also a really good option, because they're incredibly lightweight and still linear. Also quiet.

Edit: Get this. Its a gk61 with a case. So you should be able to just plop in your switches. This is a link to a bunch of cheap gateron switches. Get the 61 pack, it's exactly how many you need for your keyboard. In case you're wondering why I keep recommending gaterons, it's because they're just as good at least. For a long while cherry was the best, and the cherry clones were just bad. Nowadays the cherry clones (gateron, kalih and all the others) are equal to or better than cherry. Also gaterons are more smooth than cherry in my experience.

Keycaps are easy. Basically every single keycap set will fit with cherry stem switches. So you don't have to worry about that. All you need is layout, which you can verify with your eyes. With 60%s you'll often have extra keycaps laying about afterwards, but it isn't a big deal. This is that a finishes gk61 should look like, layout wise. Try and get doubleshot pbt keycaps. ABS keycaps are bad and you don't want printed legends because they fade overtime. This goal also isn't hard or expensive.

https://www.amazon.com/Mechanical-Keyboard-Backlight-Magicforce-Qisan/dp/B01HHTFSIK/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1506642470&sr=8-4

perhaps? I'm sure you can get cheaper Kailh switch keyboards but from what I heard Gateron is superior. Often times its even said to be better than Cherry switches.

u/osuSero · 1 pointr/osugame

Can't recommend it at all. Material felt cheap and it didn't last long.

http://www.amazon.de/SteelSeries-4HD-Gaming-Mauspad-schwarz/dp/B002J9G5AE/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1463994284&sr=1-2&keywords=steelseries+mousepad

This one is pretty nice. You won't be using the wrist rest anyway (restricts movement) that you'd get with the other one, so all in all you save money and get a more responsive mousepad that will last you longer.

u/TaigaOSU · 7 pointsr/osugame

If i can add something to this:

http://www.amazon.com/Silhouette-MEDIA-ADHESIVE-Double-Sided-Adhesive-Paper/dp/B008QHBL8Y

With this you can actualy forget about tape and make full size stick to tablet which should with some minor manual skills looks better than taped one.

Anyway, upvoting, good job sir, nice tutorial, if you don't mind, add my link to your post, thanks.

I'd reccomend the mouse I have, it was pretty cheap and I really like it
