29. LINKUP - USB 3.0 (3.1 Gen 2) Internal IDC 20 Pin Motherboard Header to A-Key 20 Pin Female Header Active Converter for Type C Panel Mount Adapter

    Features:
  • *** Installation Note *** USB power will always be on even when the system is shut down. Please unplug the PC power cable completely for 20 seconds before installation to avoid possible voltage spikes which may damage the chipset on the adapter. This adapter is designed to fit all USB 3.0 20 pin motherboard headers by standard specification. A small number of motherboards do not use standard USB 3.0 20 pin headers which may cause the adapter to get stuck in the socket.
  • …Forceful removal of the adapter may cause the header socket to be damaged, LINKUP is not responsible for such damage. Connector 1 (Motherboard) - USB 3.0 Internal IDC 20 Pin MB Male Housing Header. Connector 2 (Front Panel) - USB 3.1 A-Key 20 Pin Front Panel Female Header / NOTE: Does not convert from 5GB/s to 10GB/s. Not compatible with USB 2.0 motherboard IDC connector
  • Active chipset enables full USB-C features, preserves the functions of Channel Configuration pins (CC1&CC2); including attach/removal detection, plug orientation detection, and current advertisement. Also the communications required by the Power Delivery and Alternate Mode.
  • Recommended to be used with LINKUP - USB-C Type Panel Cable Mount Motherboard Header Extension Adapter (B07THC8ZVF). May not fit ITX motherboard in an ITX case due to not having enough space. 【LINKUP Cares】 Backed by a LINKUP Limited 1-Year Warranty and Complimentary Premium Online Support.
  • *** Note on USB current over limit issue: The power from the USB 3.0 header on the motherboard has a power rating at 4.5W (0.9A x 5V). However, many USB-C devices can withdraw power up to 100W (20A x 5V). This may result in a power shut down to protect the motherboard and its components. Not compatible with iPad Pro and other tablets for charging through this port.

It's called a "Fan Splitter Cable". You can get them for like $5 online. Here's a good one on Amazon.

If you want one locally, then you're only going to find them at like a Frys, Microcenter, PC Boutique shop, etc.

u/TimonX_ · 1 pointr/pchelp

Oh yeah, u should have at least 120 hertz monitor then for the best experience.
This is a good one: https://www.amazon.de/AOC-AG273QCX-DisplayPort-Free-Sync2-Reaktionszeit/dp/B07FQLJRDP?tag=amazondn0b-21&psc=1

ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER Twin Fan 8GB GDDR6 256-bit 14Gbps Gaming Graphics Card, IceStorm 2.0, Spectra Lighting, ZT-T20710F-10P https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TMK8HMC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_q.yEDbH9QZK2C

If anyone is curious this is what I have landed on.

Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition CPU Cooling System https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07H9JL1P8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_52e4Db2KWD4HQ

This cooler is on special offer and 3000+MHz ram kits on special offer too.

I use this cooler myself on a 2700 and also used it in a few builds for other people. Amazing for the price

u/IgnoranceIsAVirus · 1 pointr/pchelp

Not really there's a "second" cable that deals with RGB only, not the power to the fan.

they are the round pinned cable here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075FKL6C1/

the arrow on the cable points to PIN 1 on the motherboard.

On the motherboard they are the white connectors if you look at the 1st picture here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FVYKFXF

It's Labeled RGB Header1, (Bottom left corner) and it looks like you only have the one connection point, so you'll need a splitter to extend to each fan that has it.

12V G R B and next to it is ADDR_LED1

So your motherboard can have addressable RGB and Synchronized RGB fans.

Looking at the manual, I see there's a USB type 3 header at the bottom right corner of the motherboard, but I don't see one for the 3.1 gen 2 header the case wants.
There are adapters you can get that should allow it to work, but you won't get the maximum possible speed out of it. Here's one from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WG8ZJ41/

Edit: the cable from the front panel looks like this, right? https://linustechtips.com/main/uploads/monthly_2018_07/image.png.cbfb5d2faf80198ec52145639ef23a21.png

I might be wrong but I don’t believe that dvi can do 120hz. Also yes a display to hdmi wire would work. But make sure it’s the whole wire that has one end a display port and the other end a hdmi port. Linus did a video on this and he had problems with a adapter but when he used the single wire it worked fine.

Something like this should work.

MICRO CONNECTORS M.2 SSD Mounting... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GN8QHD6?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Recently bought these and they worked fine for my atx mobo

I’m pretty sure you don’t need a stand-off and your mobo has it already.

u/PilotXT · 1 pointr/pchelp

Add an SSD (solid state drive) to your build. This will immensely speed up the computer, I learned this when I built my computer. Asked the same question you’re asking haha. This is a good one!.

Hey man i was thinking the same thing upgrade wise and started checking some ram out and found this Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 X 8GB) DDR4 3600 (PC4-28800) C18 1.35V Desktop Memory - Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RM39V5F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_r5F3DbWG6TS4V idk how much you know but do you think this ram would be good ?

Here are the ones I’m using: 10 Ultra Pro 75pt Magnetic Card... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07C1ZFRWW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

They are really great and stick to the case with magnets on the underside.

Btw these are addressable so you need that specific header for them to work

u/zombieshy_guy82 · 1 pointr/pchelp

It's kinda like an extention for pcie slots, you just plug it into your pcie slot and you can plug in your gpu into the riser so you wouldnt have to cut your case

Here's a link to one if that helps: Thermaltake TT Gaming PCI-E x16 3.0 Black Extender Riser Cable 200mm AC-053-CN1OTN-C1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y5YNGDJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_LWFLDbJ03562E

I used to run a 560ti with fortnite at everything low except view distance, as that's the only setting that really matters on it. FPS was 160+ I think. This will definitely be good

u/Random_person06 · 1 pointr/pchelp
