I didn’t want to shill-like post it at first, but since it kinda makes sense too now.

It’s actually this one...

For the price point and the features, I️ am beyond happy with the functionality. I’ve flown and love the Mavic but for $300 with a remote included, I’m more then good with this one for a while IMO.

u/mandyaffogato · 1 pointr/raleigh

So I just did this for my parents two weeks ago. I bought a software on amazonfor $80 and was able to get videos transferred as video files on my computer. I am going to buy an external hard drive so I can transfer all the videos there (they take up lots of space as you can imagine).

I contacted Carolina Custom Video but they charge ~$25 for the first 30 mins of your video. I've already transferred 3 hours worth of video so this software has pretty much paid for itself.

If you don't want to DIY, then I'd recommend Carolina Custom Video. While pricey, they were pretty responsive and seemed reliable.

https://www.vox.com/a/new-economy-future/tiny-houses

>It ignores the real reason that housing is unaffordable — at least in the coastal urban centers where fantasies of tiny housing are most potent. The problem, simply put, is that 1) land in cities where you'd want to live is expensive and 2) many cities don't let developers use that land efficiently.
>
>The growth of tiny houses has been held back considerably because there's just nowhere to put them. That's partially due to minimum house size zoning regulations, and partially due to bans on "camping" on otherwise unoccupied land or the driveway/parking space of an existing house, like one recently adopted in DC. But even the most tiny-house-friendly zoning code in the world wouldn't necessarily render tiny houses viable.
>
>Suppose it suddenly became legal to just park a tiny house in an ordinary parking space indefinitely and live there. This might work for people with friends willing to spot them a space. But if you actually need to buy the land you're parked on, well, that becomes tricky.
>
>Here in DC, you can get a $35,000 parking space in Columbia Heights or a $20,000 one in Petworth. Back in 2011, there was one in the Dupont Circle neighborhood selling for $100,000.
>
>The situation's the same in other high-priced coastal cities. According to the Wall Street Journal's Candace Jackson, prime San Francisco neighborhoods feature parking spaces costing as much as $125,000, and there are several $1 million spots in New York City.
>
>The point is simple: What you're paying for in high-productivity, desirable cities like San Francisco, New York, and DC is the location. That is, the proximity to other workers, which enhances all of your productivity and leads to these areas' high incomes relative to the rest of the country.
>
>You're not paying for your overlarge apartments. No one in these cities is overwhelmed by how gigantic all their housing options are.
>
>Construction is the cheap part. Land is the expensive part.
>
>And not only do tiny houses not make land cheaper, they're a really inefficient use of it. If you have a given piece of land and want to produce the most affordable housing possible out of it, you don't stick a tiny house on there. You build a many-stories-tall residential skyscraper with hundreds of apartments inside it.
>
>The answer is density, which tiny houses don't help. As Arielle Milkman notes in her excellent assessment of tiny houses in Jacobin magazine, "Tiny houses generally do nothing to increase urban density in cities like Washington, DC, which is already concentrated with people and has little open space."

Honestly you might want to look for a new FM transmitter. Sounds like yours is pretty weak. I got one just like you described in Amazon for $15 and it works great. Even if a channel is occupied this thing is powerful enough to override whatever's being broadcast, and there's almost no interference once I find a channel thats mostly static. Here's the one I got if you're interested.

u/dogcatsnake · 2 pointsr/raleigh

I get them for my dogs, because one of mine starts shaking when it drops below 70. He hates putting them on but I know it keeps him warm.

I actually order them on amazon, usually. But check out Petco or Phydeaux for more options if you want to see them in person.

I personally think he would look pretty great in this: https://www.amazon.com/Kailian-Autumn-Winter-Hoodies-Sweater/dp/B011QT1Y94/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1478614743&sr=8-2&keywords=large+dog+hoodie

The right meds will help you sleep without emotional dreams. I haven't been on meds in a while but still get dreams like that occasionally. These help me for those nights:
OLLY Sleep Melatonin Gummy, 25 Day Supply (50 Gummies), Blackberry Zen, L Theanine, Chamomile, Lemon Balm, Chewable Supplement https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0145QI7O0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_2qUgDbYYZSM7Y

If there's a place I can send them I'd be happy to.

Keep fighting, one day at a time.

First of all - if Durham doesn't pay for the Durham County part, the project is dead. The plan says that Garner to RTP is not feasible and the project would have to go from Garner to Durham so that it can connect all the urban centers in the area. You don't think there is enough density in downtown Raleigh, downtown Durham to support the plan? Don't count out rail as well for driving dense developments near stations as well since it'll be a convenience to live near the stations. As for the airport, well they're using existing track and the closest it gets to the airport is Morrisville so there will be shuttles from there to the airport. We're talking about a low budget rail option here and a spur to the airport would be expensive (not to mention the airport has been resistant to expanded public transportation options due to parking revenues)

I think that some off-road aspect of a transit plan is necessary - yes, it is expensive but it is far less expensive than building a light rail option from scratch like Durham/Chapel Hill. If traffic is the driving point to build out our transit system, why force all the options to use the roads that are going to be congested even further in a few years? That just doesn't make sense to me.

The consultant who worked on the plan - Jarrett Walker - is one of the leaders when it comes to developing transit systems and has worked on transit plans around the world in different countries so I trust that they know what they're doing (http://jarrettwalker.com/places/). If you're interested in reading about transit, he wrote a good book about different theories, decisions and strategies that transit planners deal with: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1597269727/ref=rdr_ext_tmb

Shoot I'm late!

For sale: This table. Gorgeous dark wood table, perfect for a kitchen table for tall people or a fancy dining room table. Very versatile. Comes with a storage space on the bottom and a leaf which expands the table to comfortably fit 6 people.

This table has never been used and will be sold unassembled. This retails for $250 I am asking $150 or best offer. The reason for selling it is it arrived minorly damaged. It needs a little sand papering to fix minor splintering and a few nails in the tabletop and one of the side panels to put pieces together. Aside from the nails, the damage is purely aesthetic and some light TLC will make this a beautiful addition to your home.

u/raggedtoad · 1 pointr/raleigh

Just buy some new table legs and remove the entire old setup. I got 28" hairpin legs similar to these (https://www.amazon.com/TE-DEUM-Hairpin-Diameter-Workstation/dp/B077GY96S8/) when I was building a desk earlier this year, and they work great. Very strong and stable, and they just screw into the wood bottom of the desk/table.

Ikea also has lots of table legs at reasonable prices (https://www.ikea.com/us/en/cat/legs-trestles-11845/)

One of the things that has been hardest for my wife is good pizza. There’s a lot of GF options, but many of them are pretty crap. She actually likes the GF pizza from Blaze, if there’s one near you.

If you manage to find GF Ravioli let me know, I still haven’t found any.

For cooking at home, I’ve gotten to the point where I swear by this flour. I use it just like normal flower in any recipe and it has cooked normally. Many of the other GF flowers require you to modify ratios to cook right, but this stuff has been great... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003CHUWQA?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Ah I see now. Might as well just find a cheap Wii and a couple of games if it's only going to be a weekend. Not even worth going through a hassle of Rent-A-Center or anywhere else, IMO.

Better yet, find one of those Sega Genesis Flashback consoles at target or Amazon and let them play the old games we probably all grew up with.

https://www.target.com/p/sega-genesis-flashback-hd-2017-console/-/A-52604747

https://www.target.com/p/sega-genesis-classic-game-console/-/A-51236479

Or if you have a newer console like PS4 or XBOX, you can find the Sega Genesis collection. 50 Genesis games for 30 bucks.

https://www.amazon.com/SEGA-Genesis-Classics-PlayStation-4/dp/B07BCHL7BH/ref=sr_1_5?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1522931594&sr=1-5&keywords=sega+genesis

Yeah, I really like it, I used to have the G1W, and it really feels like a good jump in quality. The one thing I feel a bit odd about is that it's not great when it comes to reflections, and I've seen others recommend a filter for it.

u/jnecr · 3 pointsr/raleigh

Honestly sometimes Amazon is your best bet. They have a local warehouse and items there are eligible for same and Sunday delivery..

Edit: Here's one that has Sunday delivery. You could also try BestBuy/OfficeDepot.

u/throwawaypaycheck1 · 1 pointr/raleigh

Not if you’re going to Best Buy or Amazon. Most if not all should be fine.

For what it’s worth here’s the modem I have.

And the router if you need it.

u/desemus · 1 pointr/raleigh

Haha will do.

I got some pretty cheap when they were on sale at Target. I think they're still cheap used, kinda pricy on Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/Lazer-Nerf-Two-Player-Battle-System/dp/B0026J7EIO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1371147392&sr=8-1&keywords=tiger+ltx

They're stupid accurate and I remember having fun with them playing around the brickyard at state back in college.

u/keviiinl · 3 pointsr/raleigh

My old shop used to charge about 50 bucks for this.

This is an easy thing to do yourself.
A USB to Sata cable is like 15 bucks on Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/Generic-SATA-5-25-Cable-Adapter/dp/B000YJBL78

All you'd have to do is take the harddrive out of it's current enclosure and connect it to the PC with that cable. Should work fine to recover data.

Sorry if that doesn't directly answer the question but it gives you another option at least.

I could help you out if needed shoot me a PM.

*Edit: If the USB to SATA cable doesn't work than the data is not going to be a standard recovery and local shops won't be able to help anyways.

u/markymark_inc · 2 pointsr/raleigh

I bought this last year and it worked great. My neighbor overfills his trash can, and leaves it setting out for weeks without taking it out to the curb, so my house was getting inundated. I set it up and within three or four days, it took out close to 50 fruit flies. I leave it by the front door now, and hardly ever see one, even though my neighbors fruit fly breeding ground is still going strong.

u/notinsignificant · 1 pointr/raleigh

I have two 50-mile powered antennas near the top and bottom of my tv. I have them attached to the wall, not the tv to reduce interference from the tv shielding (don't attach them until you get the best reception/positioning). Our tv is wall mounted. I used the coax cables and power injectors that came with the antennas.

Sobetter TV Indoor 50 Mile Range Amplifier Digital HDTV Reception Antenna with 10-Feet Coax Cable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01F7327EG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_Qk9qTeUIbqfZi

The signal combiner is this item on amazon:
CHANNEL PLUS 2532 2-Way Splitter/Combiner CHANNEL PLUS 2532 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00006JPE1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_ZKnfwlIK7ejyD
