Alright. I think that the 144hz is a great compromise instead of getting a 1440. They say it’s grainy, but if you think about it, it would be the same as getting a more spacey 16:9 ratio 1080. If you aren’t really into gaming rn and want a higher resolution monitor, you could get this, but it would kinda suck for games tbh (it would still totally work for them.) there are some cheaper options with more more backglight bleed like this, or these. I would look at all of those sceptre monitors, since they have wonderful specs compared to price. The backlight bleed is barely noticeable, and apparently the colors aren’t as good, but I think they would be amazing choices too. They get really good reviews from almost everyone. I think that you should really go for 144hz or higher, since getting a budget monitor with such size and resolution is going to take away from the refresh rate. If you do want higher resolution to play games with, it would be good to save up for a higher end one, but I think it would be better to just stick maybe a smaller 144hz monitor like a 30 inch if you really want to go for that pixel density.
If you upgrade GPU's every year, you might as well go with the higher resolution now. The 1070 can already handle the 3440x1440, but you may just need to lower the video settings from Ultra to High or possibly High/Medium mix depending on the game you're playing. Plus, having the extra screen space outside of gaming is nice to have.
For the price point you're looking at, these are worth considering:
Dell 3417W - 75Hz OC
LG 34UC88 - 75Hz OC
Acer XR342CK - 75Hz
Another one worth considering that offers 144hz @ 2560x1440 and 100Hz @ 3440x1440 is the relatively unknown Microboard M340CLZ brand found here. Some people swear by it on here but I have not tried it out myself.
Finally, there are at least a couple more 3440x1440 100Hz monitors due for release in a few months. One is the ASUS MX34VQ and another is the AG352UCG.
Good luck and welcome to the UWMS!
Thanks for the good wishes! I did a lot of research and ended up using this to mount it flat into the wall. Asked my neighbor who had good experience in handyman jobs and recommended the anchors to use.
You'll never know unless you try, gotta say this is something I would not recommend someone to blindly just go for it unless, you have the appropriate materials and you feel confident in doing it.
It was scary and a good learning experience because is something I've never done in my life. I might try it with my TV eventually and I'll probably ask a friend to help me out lol.
I haven't calibrated yet, but I did use TFT Central's ICC profile and settings which was an improvement. I have this colorimeter on order and will do a proper calibration once it arrives.
I prefer a slightly brighter screen too and have set a 50% brightness. I'm in a dimly lit room so that's pretty bright relative to ambient light.
I find the Alienware image quality good answer comparable to other Dell monitors I've owned including my current second display, a UP3017.
I'm using the"normal" pixel response setting, but haven't tried anything higher. I've been sensitive to noticing overshoot on previous monitors so I haven't tried any other levels yet.
I have been investigating this myself. I'm just gonna copy/paste my notes. Hope it helps:
>I am actually using mixture of two stand, one is Arctic Z3 Pro (Gen 1) without the side arms, and additionally have Arctic Z+ Pro extension kit for the top monitor. For the side monitors, I use Mount-It! Height Adjustable Monitor Arm for the two side monitors.

From what I gather, the most important thing is weight. But if you're trying to stack vertically then ya we have to pay attention to the height. I've been finding setups here and on /r/battlestations where they are just like stacking a 27 inch on top of a 34 inch which is much easier. So Idk let me know if you have bandwidth to research this further.
EDIT: re: your neck and back pain. It's good your making your workspace more ergonomic. But there's only so much you can do there. Make sure you're taking frequent breaks if only for a few minutes.
I got this one Amazon Warehouse for ~$37: http://www.amazon.com/Mount--Monitor-Adjustable-Screens-MI-752/dp/B0052AWGLE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1464017127&sr=8-1&keywords=mount+it+dual+mount
It holds my 34" (~22 pounds) and my 27" (not sure). They both FIT in landscape too, but just BARELY and with about a 15 degree angle. 29 would defintiely fit. Its very sturdy, I have to really tigthen up the screws that allow for adjusting the monitor tilt but your 29" will probably weigh less than the max 22 pound
consider something like that or two singles.. I still haven't decided which would be better but I'm happy with mine
I spent awhile with my Acer CZ340CK monitor on top of a riser on my desk image.
Finally switched to a monitor arm and I spent awhile researching which would be best. Money is kind of tight right now, so I decided to try the cheapest one I could find on Amazon that had the correct weight rating for my monitor, which was this Vivo STAND-V001Q (Amazon Link). I figured I could send it back quick and easy if it was terrible.
Most of the quality arms that will support my monitor well and have a good range of motion are $100+, this arm was only $58 with prime shipping.
It exceeds all of my quality expectations, and with a few, maybe 6 or 7, turns of the spring adjustment it was perfectly balanced. I need the screen to be able to pull way out away from the wall when I use it for sim racing, so it really is a perfect solution. Another view.
This probably isn't a new product, I just thought people should know that it's a great solution especially for the price. It came packaged beautifully so nothing was damaged, it has a quick disconnect VESA mounting plate, and both clamp and bolt through options for your desk included. It's powder coated a nice wrinkle finish dark grey.
Seriously impressed, and would recommend it to anyone. I'll update the community if it degrades somehow over time, but I doubt it.
I'm in the market for an UltraWide in the UK as well, and the prices here are just stupid compared to the US...The one I really want is Alienware AW3418DW but I'm waiting for a good sale on it as the "refreshed" version AW3420DW just dropped in the US and supposedly will be available in Europe 18.10.2019.At the moment AW3418DW in the US is $839 = £674But in the UK the same model costs £999 = $ 1242Amazon US Amazon UKThat is basically double the price for the same item, I know that there are differences with taxes etc but this is just ridiculous. And this trend can be spotted with different brands like ACER and ASUS.I'm holding off until I spot a great deal on either the AW3418DW or Predator X34P, and would recommend you to do the same. Hope this helps
Edit: Btw If you are looking at the Z35P, not so long ago (2-3 weeks) it was discounted on Box for ~£550, so everything you pay above that is overpaying.
Monitor and my gpu is an AMD R9 280x. You'll be perfectly fine with your setup, and you probably will be able to run games on high/ultra settings at around 60 fps. However, you may want to get a 144hz ultrawide (the ultrawide in this picture is 200hz), and you probably won't be able to achieve 144 fps in most games at high settings (aside from easy to run games, like CS:GO). Personally, I think ultrawides are 100% worth it, and they really only decrease ~2-10 fps in most games. Trust me, ultrawides are a game changer.
Monitor weight is 16.10 LBS without stand, so anything that can hold 17+ should be fine, if you go over 20 lbs then it's really hard to normal priced arm.

There is few more options, but it also depends what amazon are you using. But generally monitors over 20 lbs are issues to mount or better said super expensive to mount.
Sure, I've found a cheap (30€) but strong one ! Very happy with it : Artic Z1 Basic

Here is what I use to mount my PG348Q. Properly mounted onto studs. Cheap and haven't had any issues. I "monitor" it now and then to make sure the weight hasn't caused it to shift down but it's been great so far. I've had it for 2 months. I do keep it pretty close to the wall though.
Will post pictures later.
i am looking to buy this one soon https://www.amazon.com/MX-Desk-Mount-LCD-Arm/dp/B001IWOBGI as my desk is pretty small in depth so this would be perfect. Vesa mounts look something like this http://iixm.akrondmc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Cheap-VESA-Mount-for-a-HDTV.jpg you have the holes for mount already on the monitor :)
I don't know of any stands that will even support 2 ultrawides like that. I'm a big "throw it on the wall because it's cheap and super sturdy and saves a lot of desk space" kind of guy lol. If it becomes an option I highly recommend these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003O1UYHG?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
I got the Samsung CF791 in July 2017 and I still love it! Great value for what you get at $700 right now.
Here’s a pic of my setup for reference: Setup

Is this the one you mean? I was interested in a curved one too, but damn I did not expect to see anything in my range (unless I went curved only and not UW).
I remember seeing the similar LG models back when I bought my current, in 2015. They were like $1200, I am quite happy to see something like this then. adding to shopping cart
From what I have read and what you have said that makes me feel more confident that it is the cable provided with the monitor.
Apparently for DP 1.2 the cable needs to have the removal of a certain pin that is in the free cables that come with the monitors.
My new cable comes in today I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks!
Update: Cable defiantly fixed it, I have had no issues since I switched. Gforce experience used to cause all of the problems to happen at once but now it works perfectly.

I have a "Tall pole" version of the Ergotron LX, with an extension arm. The one you linked, not the one in your "my setup" pic. You most definitely do NOT have an Ergotron LX, but an MX: http://www.amazon.com/MX-Desk-Mount-LCD-Arm/dp/B001IWOBGI?ie=UTF8&keywords=ergotron%20MX&qid=1465288975&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1
It should be good enough, as it can raise my 34" to 8" (measured from desk to bottom of display) even at middle setting, and the first arm being at almost the bottom of the pole. If I were to firm it up further, it goes 13" tops. Plus the pole has another 7-8".
Thank you!
That actually sounds really good. If I didn't already have 34" UW for the top, I probably would have done same thing as you.
All of them has a function where you can install the plate on the monitor first and then slide the monitor into the arm, instead of having to screw the whole arm on the monitor and mount the arm in the desk with the weight of the monitor. (This is the most-have function for me when it comes to monitor arm/stands.)

EDIT: In the future, I might just move to simple dual monitor stand for the main and the top monitor. Because Arctic's stand extends forward little too much, compared to other stands that I have used before.
When I first got my BenQ XL2730Z (144hz 1440p) monitor it flickered like that, like it kept dropping the signal for some reason. I did some research and people recommended getting a better quality DP cable, which I did and it fixed it, and it's been smooth sailing ever since. It's sad that the cable the monitor came with wasn't able to handle the highest resolution + highest refresh rate, but oh well. I'm just glad it works now.

The DP cable I have now...

I have recently been doing a lot of research towards the 3440x1440 high refresh rate side of things. Whilst there are many positive 5-star reviews the most rated ones made me decide against it. Some parts of it are too good to be true, besides that it's a decent UW. Reviews sorted by rating, read them for yourself before spending 700$+.

This one from sceptre, I've owned some of their monitors and have liked them.
It's a 200hz monitor which for $300 is a pretty good deal.
[Z35P] (https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-Z35P-bmiphz-3440x1440/dp/B06ZZDYVQM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1525625695&sr=8-1&keywords=z35p) dropped to $830~. Very good monitor, only true caveat is the IPS lottery (it's VA, ignore that, but blacklight bleed still a thing). Great colors, Gsync, and can be overclocked in the settings to 120hz.
https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Selector-Computers-Peripheral-Switcher/dp/B01N6GD9JO/
I only have one more laptop for work, but had the same problem otherwise. I have been looking around, but could not find a KVM or streaming solution that could cope with the 3440x1440 resolution and refresh rate (they all top out at 4k 30Hz) and wouldn't stress my poor Lenovo work laptop (copious amounts of corporate bloatware) to the point that everything was just slow and unstable. Instead, I now have my Desktop plugged into the Display Port and my Laptop into HDMI, each with their dedicated USB 3 cable to the Hub.
That means I need to connect/disconnect only 2 cables when and if I move the laptop, and otherwise it's only two buttons to switch both display and USB inputs for up to 4 USB devices (mainly my mouse and keyboard). This was the best compromise for me that doesn't sacrifice on input lag or display quality.
So I'm using this monitor right now, which is just a rebranded version of what you linked.
Pros: Cheap, 100hz, good intro to Ultrawide, supports FreeSync and supposedly unofficially supports G-Sync, but I can't confirm that.
Cons: Not as bright as other panels, the menu is absolute ass, arm is non-adjustable, no USB hub.
It's good for now, but I'll probably upgrade to Samsung at some point. That said, it's a great value for money.
I don't do any extreme gaming, mostly rpgs and light stuff like LoL and AoE. Have a 970 and might upgrade in the future. But i am a designer and need a good quality ips. I am leaning towards the Dell https://www.amazon.com/Dell-FR3PK-34-Inch-Led-Lit-Monitor/dp/B01IOO4TIM/ref=dp_ob_title_ce
but am not sure if I will be able to grab it for a good price.
Yes, there is my friend! Both Pixio and Viotek recently came out with monitors with these exact specifications. The only difference is the display is MVA vs IPA.
Pixio PX347c Prime 34 inch Curved Ultra Wide QHD (3440 x 1440) Adaptive Sync 100hz Widescreen Display Professional Gaming Monitor Samsung PVA 1440p
[VIOTEK GN34C 34" Curved Widescreen PC Gaming Monitor - WQHD 3440 x 1440p 100Hz Refresh Rate Freesync] (https://www.amazon.com/VIOTEK-GN34C-Curved-Widescreen-Monitor/dp/B074G5G8FT/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1510749963&sr=1-1&keywords=viotek+34-inch+1440p+curved+100hz+gaming+monitor)
I purchased the Pixio recently, should be delivered by Friday, I will let you know how it looks. I did a lot of research on these and basically these are Korean models that use a PVA display, which are cheaper and a nice middle ground between TN and IPS. The actual displays are manufactured by Samsung so it's not like you are getting some unknown hardware.
The biggest downsides to either of these? No vesa brackets. The price point is what drew me in, as it's nearly half the price of similar displays with g-sync.
Yes, I use two; a wall mount for my ultrawide and a clamp mount for my side monitor.
Wall monitor mount
Clamp monitor mount
If you don't want to wall mount, the clamp mount works great.
North Bayou. Pretty impressed for the price. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074DQYT25/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-34-Inch-Widescreen-Monitor-C34F791/dp/B01M1D7JVO
There you go op, 1440p, 100 hz, 1500R curved at 1000 dollars.
Or you can go with this: https://www.amazon.com/Microboard-M340CLZ-3440x1440-REAL100HZ-Monitor/dp/B01M5DVR94/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1482067681&sr=1-1&keywords=microboard+m340clz
It has the same specs but is 300 dollars less. It has less of a curve at 1800R though. Reviews for this monitor make it sound great.
This is the cable that's recommended more often because it's had a very good track record and supports everything. A lot of the time cheaper cables have issues above 6ft. Topic on PCMR Subreddit about Quality DP cables.
I'm using this Vivo STAND-V001Q gas spring arm with my Acer ED7 and it's holding up great. Mounted it to an Ikea Linnmon which isn't exactly the most resillient desk and it's still working very well.
I think I have the solution for you. I use this on my 35" Ultrawide Z35P and it is great. I mainly tried this item since this is what techtuber JayzTwoCents uses to hold his two 35" ultrawides.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MXEIA00/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
You could always go down the Korean road with this monitor. You get 3440x1440 res at 100hz for only 479.99 USD on amazon with the coupon that they have. While the deal seems great, I can’t speak for the durability, color range, etc as it’s quite cheap.
Get a vesa wall mount? Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/VideoSecu-Monitor-Screen-Maximum-Loading/dp/B000VKCIJU/
Edit: Just saw you want to hide the cables as well. Buy some cable concealer/raceway you like along with the wall mount.
Are you rocking an AMD GPU? If not and If you’re at 730, I’d recommend this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06ZZDYVQM/ref=pd_gwm_simh_5?pf_rd_p=db8e741f-3a25-4908-9938-1cabe21e7102&pf_rd_s=blackjack-experiment-1&pf_rd_t=Gateway&pf_rd_i=mobile&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=JWQNJ4GZCB462VNK4P4E&pd_rd_wg=rAcZx&pf_rd_r=JWQNJ4GZCB462VNK4P4E&pd_rd_r=CP82WESMCZ4WATX9GV4K&pf_rd_p=db8e741f-3a25-4908-9938-1cabe21e7102&pd_rd_w=hvNvr&pd_rd_i=B06ZZDYVQM
If so, I don’t think the Samsung is worth $200 more. Certainly better, but that’s a big delta.
Gonna give this one a shot: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074DQYT25/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A2V6O7OTRZHL3U&psc=1
Seems like a good price to ratings ratio. Can update when I get it.
with gsync i think the cheapest one is the omen x35
https://www.amazon.com/OMEN-HP-35-inch-Curved-Monitor/dp/B01N0TFAW6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1522374212&sr=8-1&keywords=omen+35
if you don't want to spend more than 800$ i think the CF791 is a great option
https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-34-Inch-Widescreen-Monitor-C34F791/dp/B01M1D7JVO/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1522374296&sr=1-3&keywords=samsung+34
How much you care about accurate color reproduction?
Like I said, if you don't care about gaming all the 3440x1440 might as well be the same monitor for you, outside of color calibration. So you're best off finding the one that currently has the lowest price (which changes because of sales)
I checked Amazon and if you don't mind refurb and a curved screen the cheapest listed is:
https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Widescreen-XR342CK-bmijpphz-Refurbished/dp/B06ZYMMX9J/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1523639544&sr=1-3&keywords=3440+1440
If you don't mind smaller brand and curved screens there's this:
https://www.amazon.com/GN34C-Monitor-Widescreen-Definition-DisplayPort/dp/B074G5G8FT/ref=sr_1_6?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1523639544&sr=1-6&keywords=3440+1440
And then the cheapest flat ultrawide they're selling from a larger brand is:
https://www.amazon.com/LG-34UM88C-P-34-Inch-21-UltraWide/dp/B01CDYB5CW/ref=sr_1_8?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1523639544&sr=1-8&keywords=3440+1440
I don't love curved monitors for productivity. I'm constantly aware of some minor distortion when doing anything except playing games.
And people who haven't had flat monitors side by side with curved will say you have to move your head less, but that's not really true. You're saving maybe an inch of width on each side of the average curved monitor.
But curved is in, so most options are curved.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001IWOBGI/ref=mp_s_a_1_11?qid=1451314021&sr=8-11&pi=AC_SX118_SY170_QL70&keywords=ergotron this is the one I have been using on my LG34UM95. It has worked perfectly.
I have this arm with a 34" and 27" and it has been great.
FreeSync monitors run about $100 to $300 less than GSync. You can use an nvidia GPU with a FreeSync monitor however the adaptive techology (FreeSync) will not activate. It performs like a monitor without GSync.
Acer XR342CK bmijpphz 34-inch UltraWide QHD (3440 x 1440) AMD FreeSync Monitor (Display Port, HDMI Port) 75hz $500 Amazon

Edit: saw you wanted desk mount.. This may help, but over 50$ https://www.amazon.com/North-Bayou-Monitor-Computer-19-8lbs/dp/B074DQYT25/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?keywords=NB%2BNorth%2BBayou&qid=1562289828&s=gateway&sr=8-5&th=1&psc=1
This is the one that I bought for my PG348Q and it's been brilliant so far.
They make budget options that when paired with an open source software do a pretty solid job.
For a cheaper solution, use something like this for your usb devices on 2 PCs. https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Selector-Computers-Peripheral-Switcher/dp/B01N6GD9JO/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=ugreen+switch+hub&qid=1562308220&s=gateway&sr=8-3
But u still gotta switch monitors separately.
Also just recently purchased this. I noticed tiny little white dots appearing randomly at 100hz. Once I switched out the cable with a nicer one the issue was resolved. Here is the cable I’m using now: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0098HVZBE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_JnfeAbF1KV04R

As of right now, looks like prices are down a bit on the first two:
*Asus ROG Swift PG348Q 34" @ $1,199 ($1299-$100)
*Acer Predator 34 @ $1079.99 ($1299-$220)
*Acer Predator Z35P @ $1099
All overclock to 100hz
Maybe this one? The LG you listed is only FHD so pixel density won't be as good as the Samsung but this one is also WQHD. The LG's have IPS which would be better for photo editing, etc but the Samsung has a little higher refresh rate and freesync (75hz vs 60hz) but has VA panel. If you're not planning to VESA mount, the LG's also have more ergonomic stands. It depends on the distance you're going to be sitting from the monitor but I wouldn't recommend a flat ultrawide VA because of the color shift on the sides if you sit too close
Edit: Viotek for $399 (VA Panel)
Buy a USB switch and press 2 buttons when you switch, it’s what I do and it makes it easier to switch when I’m PBP mode. Dirt cheap too:

I'd always go for a reliable brand from a reliable website. Anyhoo, let me take a look.
This is the M340CLZ 34 inches, curved, 3440x1440, 100Hz including FreeSync for $680. Weird thing is tho, the product dimensions which tell me it's 32 inches.
https://www.amazon.com/Microboard-M340CLZ-Curved-3440x1440-Monitor/dp/B01M5DVR94
The Viotek GN34C is 34 inches with a 3440x1440 display which is curved and has a refreshrate of 100Hz and a responsetime of 4ms. This monitor had all the details you want, in comparison to the Korean monitor. It's a VA panel for $530.
https://www.amazon.com/GN34C-Monitor-Widescreen-Definition-DisplayPort/dp/B074G5G8FT?th=1&psc=1
Look through the links yourself for any "catch" or anything that doesn't quite add up. Anyhow, I hope I got you on your way!
EDIT: The Viotek does have a really cheap backplate which very noticeably gives cracking noises when moving or adjusting the screen. This also happens when room temperatures go up and down. Meaning after gaming for a while and quitting afterwards to sleep, you'd hear it's backplate crack due to the change of temperature.
To add to this, there’s this model that’s apparently HDR. Definitely have some option paralysis.

Curved, 34-35 inches, 100HZ, Gsync Ultrawide 3440x1440:
Acer Predator Z35P - $1000
AOC Agon AG352UCG - $900
ASUS ROG SWIFT PG348Q - $1088
Personally, I am waiting a month or two as I believe ASUS will be coming out with a 35 inch curved ultrawide with 200HZ refresh rate (an update of the bottom one on the list above): https://www.asus.com/us/Monitors/ROG-SWIFT-PG35VQ/
I think once it's released prices might go down on the others I listed above.
Looks like that is 18.5 pounds (weight probably includes the mount?)
To compare this mount can hold 44 pounds and can get the job done. I have mine going directly into studs holding an Acer XR341CK.
It's a wall mount. Something like this should be fine for most people just check the weight requirements. Be sure to get a stud finder if you don't have one. If you don't mount this in a stud it will fall, ripping a hole in your wall and probably destroying your monitor.
I personally prefer clamp mounts. They just attach to your desk. Easier to install but not as aesthetic.
Dell 3417W: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IOO4TIM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Although, full disclosure, my 6 year old has been wanting to play some of the games, so i moved the switch to the living room TV. My plan is to buy a 2nd Dock, so i can easily move it between the living room and my upstairs office.
Personally, I use this for my LG 34UM: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001IWOBGI?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00
Anytime someone reported issues with their DP connection, the "Accell" brand of cable has been recommended most unanimously. It's what I went with (albeit the 3 meter version) and have never had any issues with any monitors it was used on:

Got them on Amazon
Amazon has it now
https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-Z35P-bmiphz-3440x1440/dp/B06ZZDYVQM
Check out the monitor extensively when you get it, keep the packaging and so forth.
If you see any glaring flaws that you won't accept, box it back up and RMA it. Eventually, they'll give you one that isn't bad. With refurbs, warranty periods are small so if the monitor isn't satisfactory be quick to send it back.
Usually, I've had good experience with refurbs so I doubt it'll be much of an issue. Keep in mind that it could be that the monitor was sent back to Acer because it couldn't fit on a desk or something of the sort. Just make sure to check it out thoroughly before you toss the packaging.
Also, if possible, don't use the included DP cable, I've heard it causes problems with the screen skipping/going black. I'm using an accell DP cable that works great, pick it up if you have problems in that category:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0098HVZBE/ref=twister_B00ACFUB84?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
For a refurb though, if it has no really big problems, you scored huge!
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074DQYT25 that is the one I use for mine but really just look at the weight capacity. This one will do about 20 lb and my monitor weights about 15 without the stand no sag.
Top end of your budget. If you want 1440, curved and 34"
Low end of the budget. 1080 but still 34" without curve
You'd probably want 30in UW, I just got this Sceptre 200hz 1080p. So far so good, don't notice much ghosting at 200hz. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TXM7K4T/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

http://displaycal.net/
If you don't want to invest, go to http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/black.php and calibrate your black and white levels.
Don't rule out the DP cable as yet. I have had similar issues with a Cable Matters DP cable (even at 1080p/120Hz on a second monitor).
However, upon reading more on forums about the same issue that you speak of, I switched to this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0098HVZBE/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

$400 Acer XZ321QU 31.5" 1440p 144hzwhoops this isn't an ultrawide - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CY1X7YL/Viotek GN34CB 34-Inch 21:9 Ultrawide Curved QHD Gaming and Professional Computer Monitor, 100Hz 1440p, FreeSync FTS/RTS VESA (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HZ4N7PJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_z4zrDbC5ZNDQX
The 34 inch is back in stock now. I don’t think this model will go to 100hz though.

I'm not very well informed regarding cables, but I got this one because this brand name "Accell" kept coming up in A/V forums. So far so good.

edit: I always type the monitor name out of order. Sorry.
This one:

It's the same as this but rebranded:

I'm annoyed cause I could have got a refurbished USB-C Dell Ultrasharp for about $200AUD more. We have the same ones at work and they're great.
The Kogan had a really crap stand so it's on a $45 vosa desk stand. The panel is okay, not as good as the Dell. Connectivity it's crap, HDMI+DP nothing else, and the OSD is appalling!
Quite happy with the setup at the price I got the monitor for $510AUD.
Haha, I bought that same cable in your link and returned it for the AMD recommended cable here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0098HVZBE/ref=cm_sw_r_em_awd_t9uOwb4T8TKDD
I must admit that I didn't think replacing a cable would make a difference, but using that one in my link fixed half of my problems.
Lol I hear you there. I might give them another shot and see, been looking more so at this monitor this morning:

Anyways, I'm running a Phanteks Enthoo Pro I believe (the one with LED's). My fan configuration is one big one in the front, one in the back and two pulling on the inside on my radiator on top (AIO H100i for my CPU). Been debating getting some ugly ass Noctua performance, but hard to justify the price at the moment.
What do you mean by "which dp 1.1"? If you mean the cable, I have this one
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0098HVZBE
I just set the input to DP 1.1, rather than DP 1.2 on the on screen display, and it got rid of my issues with no noticeable cons
I bought mine off Amazon. It holds up my 34" no problem. You may want to look into the LX though if you want more height adjustment.
Wrong, it is 1500R.

Get this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0098HVZBE
Does 3440x1440 @ 100hz no problem.
Please ignore my terrible cable management!

You can see that the price tends to spike right back up after it reaches its lower price points. It might continue to drop (has been dropping the past 6 days, $150 less now than 6 days ago), but I don't think it'll go any lower since this is the 2nd lowest it's ever been on Amazon. Lowest ever being $794.
