I use one of the black plastic label removers like this. Sharp enough edge to cut 90% of the tape i encounter, but can just be thrown in my pocket with my pens and such. Also useful for pulling the plastic on fast tracks forward for labels.

You can blame Olympus Cameras for that one. The oldest of their cameras used SIM based Smart Media cards and they marketed them as such, so you have a group of folks that still refer to camera cards as SIM cards or Smart Cards.

I use these they are washable and touch screen compatible, and have nitrile palms so I a have good grip on cardboard. They come in lots of sizes it's hard to find gloves that fit my small hands (I am a female by the way) and there inexpensive.
