If a heavy machine isn't a big problem, I might avoid the MSI. You are definitely paying extra for that form factor.

That one definitely caught my eye! I had been comparing it to this Acer Predator build with a GTX 1070 and trying to get some opinions on whether or not to go for the upgraded GPU.

The graphics card cannot be upgraded, but the ram and the storage drives dan be upgraded.

/u/galmsortie17 knows quite a bit more than me, but I know he (and most reviewers online) is not a fan of the new ASUS ROG series. I can guarantee there are better value options out there on the market. They just aren't well priced considering their sub-par cooling and internals compared to other options.

If you're buying something in store (Best Buy, etc), I'd suggest looking more towards the Alienware, MSI, and Acer options.

If you're buying online, at the top of your price range maybe check out the Acer Predator 15 or the MSI Dominator Pro. Both of which are incredibly powerful with Quad core i7's, 16gb of ram, and GTX 1070 dedicated graphics cards.

For a bit cheaper, I'd suggest looking into Eluktronics P650 options which are also powerful and with similar specs, but a step down in terms of graphics with a GTX 1060 (still an incredibly powerful card that can play any game on the market). You could even drop a step lower than that and go with an Acer Helios 300 for $1050.
