Hi there. I see your issues here and I think I can help you. The first suggestion that I'd like to make is to put the bed where the desk is and put the desk where the bed is. Your room was created to have that set-up and trying to go against that will make designing your place a lot more difficult. The second suggestion that I'd like to make to you is a captain's bed. One like this that has drawers on one side so that you can open them. This will provide additional storage for things like your shoes and whatnot. Something like this. I think it might also be time to update your bedding. Maybe something like this. I think the map would look great on a green wall and the flag would look better on a white wall (over the now-moved desk). Remember that wall decor shouldn't be hung any higher then the door jam. I do believe that the room you have is a little too small for a mini-fridge, unless you can fit it in the closet. With just a few changes, I think you can have your bedroom be a bit more functional and stylized.
